I'm another one that hates being the centre of attention!! Hence the wedding we're having! :) Get it over and done with is my theory lol. And is a benefit of having a registry office ceremony - lol I wonder if we'll choose the shorted version of the vows etc when we come to choose them. :) I'm also making myself loads of little jobs to do - like helping my granddad walk down the aisle - lol as daft as it sounds, I know it's the other way round - that he's walking with me... but I know on the day the Super Granddaughter in me will take over and I'll be more concerned about him walking - and it'll help take my mind off being the bride lol.

Emma - that is a good price!! Some I've seen for 'just' a buffet is in excess of £11 a head!! I know... £11!!! I am hoping to do ours for £2 a head - possibly £2.50. But that is with me preparing it all - and providing all the things like the 'silver' platers.. so to get £5.50/£6 a head with them preparing it all sounds a bargain to me!

Mel - I don't know because I haven't used Vistaprint to actually order anything, but I know you can design your invite in word and then upload this onto a blank layout in Vistaprint. I don't know if they do the 'free offers' on these though or if you have to choose from their predetermined layouts/formats. Oh and I'm a print snob too - lol I have two (at the moment) a laser one for boring black & white, and a good canon one for all my photo printing. :) Lol but in fairness though I'm just a stationery snob :rotfl: I get ever so upset if kids dirty my 'special' rubbers lol.

I'm getting a bit excited - lol - it is now less than 3 months till I go dress shopping :T lol.

Well done on losing weight Mel!! I am yoyoed the last 2 months away - a bit angry with myself really for not pulling my thumb out... but I'm determined (for the time being anyway) to get right of this extra weight!

I'm loving reading all your posts, it's reassuring me.

I think we've finally come up with a plan for the wedding last night. Well, at least narrowed it down to a wedding on the Isle of Wight, have found a lovely looking farm near Freshwater which has just got it's wedding licence, so think I'll be dropping them a line later in the week to find out costings and booking a provisional date. And hopefully will find a weekend to go down and have a look, but I think that may have to wait until after I've return from a Scout camp I'm going to in Sweden.

That reminds me of when I told my granddad that I was getting married, he asked whether the trip to Sweden was off, I said no way, as I'd actually finished paying for it all because I'd saved up, but won the money to pay for it in the end. Funny thing is I get an email on Friday to say that all those who've organised their own transport will be getting £150 back on the cost woo hoo... that's my spending money, and if there's anything left it'll go straight into the wedding fund.

    Welcome quaveriw
Glad you got a plan sorted and found a nice venue. Just let me know the date when you book it and ill add you to the front page list.

Sorry i havnt posted for a while, havnt done anything for the wedding for a while as last week i found out im expecting:) If anyone has looked at my mse profile you will know that we have been trying for a long time but we have had 'success' but unfortunately have never made it past 8weeks. It's still very early day and me and OH are scared but trying to think positively. Going to get back into planning the wedding so my mind is on other things.

    Moving onto to wedding news.
    Booked the florist:D
I have read back but so everyone has done so much! So :jfor all the bookings:)

Went to inlaws 2be at the weekend as they got a catalogue for the suits and bless OH he was standing his ground about what jacket he wants to wear. He doesnt want a long jacket as he is quite short (5"8) but his mum keep saying you cant have short jackets for a wedding!
Also, OH parents and nan are going to pay for our honeymoon:jThey found a nice place in tenerife which we would love to go but if everything all works out then i would prefer to stay in the UK and maybe little bean will join us for a couple off days.

    Sorry for the long post
    Anymore news?

LauraLou- Huge congratulations and lots of :jand fingers crossed for you that everything goes perfectly for you.

Good on your oh for sticking his ground- theres no point in him wearing a long jacket if he doesnt want to as he wont feel comfy. My oh is 5ft 8 aswell and as long as he wears a suit (well even smart trousers and shirt would be fine with me) I really dont mind the length of the jacket!!

Well ive spoken to my oh and we have decided that that is fair price so are going to go with them to do the evening food. Oh and I got a quote from a hair and make up person but they seemed so reasonable im worried shes mistyped!!

Oh wow - congratulations Laura!! :T There must be something in the name!! I will keep my fingers crossed too that it goes well for the three of you :)

quaveriw (do you have a real name we could use?) Yay at finding your venue!! I hope when you phone them they have dates to suit you!!:T

Laura - fab about booking the florist! :) What sort of flowers have you decided on? And well done on your groom in standing his ground! Definitely get something to suit his shape/size... it's the same as us with our dresses really isn't it. We wouldn't dream of wearing a dress that doesn't suit our figures - why should the guys be any different. MrD is 6ft1... and skinny. He's going to have trouble getting a suit that looks right on him... I'm glad his mum is handling that! I'm the same as you Emma - in fact all I actually thought MrD would want is a shirt and trousers... I was gobsmacked when he said he'd wear a suit!!

Heh heh, Emma, quick snap the hair and make up artists hand off incase she has mistyped and realises her mistake! :)

Well the other day I caught MrD researching the honeymoon. We'd been round his mums and was showing her what sort of thing we were thinking of doing (a liveaboard trip to the red sea). Well that night we came home, jumped on our laptops (sat next to each other)and within an hour he was googling them! It's the first thing weddingy he's showed interest in :T!

hehe- to be fair he could turn up in jeans and t shirt and I reckon that on the day i would just be so excited I wouldnt notice or care!!

Well i emailed her back to ask how much a trial was and asking about the wedding packages that she does and she replied saying the prices included a trial and the packages are so reasonable so ive emailed her back asking for prices of the treatments she provides, im thinking i could have a few treatments next month and pay for an extra trial just to make sure I actually like what she does- I want natural so want to make sure she can do that (I dont mean that horrible but we've all seen some of the make artists that work on beauty counters etc havent we!!:rotfl:, not all before anyone takes that personally.)

:Tto MrD for taking an interest. I think we are going to opt for Turkey, although this could change before it gets booked!!

:jQuaveriw on deciding your plans. Keep us up to date on your plans, fingers crossed that venue on the iow will be just what you want.
