welcome quaveriw
Today I booked my Honeymoon. It is now starting to feel real :j:j0 -
:j:j:j:j:j on booking your honeymoon. Did they say anything about surnames or anything?
We have got ours down to 1 hotel in cyprus and one in Turkey, not sure how we are going to decide yet.0 -

Emma - as far as I know you book it in whatever name will be on your passport. I am going to book everything in Mr & Mrs DrinkCannot wait!! Although I have heard that due to the stress of changing passports most modern brides leave it till after they get back off the honeymoon. But my theory is I've waited so long to be Mrs I ain't waiting another month or so!!

I did think that was the case. My passport has expired so Im waiting and will send it off 3 months before to get it in my married name, I refuse to pay approx £80 now to then either spend the next 10 years booking holidays in my maiden name or to then spend another approx £80 after the wedding!!0

Absolutely agree!!0

It is booked in my maiden name as that is what my passport is in. It had another 8 years left on it but will need to change it eventually just dont want the worry before the wedding.0

We're still trying to decide location.
H2B thinks we should work backwards and decide where we want to honeymoon, then go for location from there. We're both outdoorsy types, and like being outside, neither of us can do the sitting on the beach for hours on end. We're looking at either North Wales or the Isle of Wight - even though we live in Buckinghamshire.
North Wales - because that's where H2B proposed - took three hours to walk to the top of Snowdon, and that's where he popped the question.
Isle of Wight - we both like walking, and think walking the coastal path would be great, and I lived down there whilst I was studying for my HND.
Still trying to get my head around the concept of having a wedding - don't know why, think it could be because I don't like being the centre of attention.
We're thinking of an intimate affair followed by our honeymoon, but don't necessarily want to do something in our home county, which is where North Wales and IW come in.0 -
quaveriw- im sure wherever pick youll have a lovely time. Im sure once you have decided and booked a few things you will be fine, and just make sure you have the day you want, dont feel pressurised by others to having a day you dont want.
well i rang my reception caterers today to get a quote for the evening buffet, works out about £5.50, maybe £6 per head for a mix of hot and cold items, it did all sound very nice and as we are having a cold snack at 5ish I think this would be just right, just need to convince my oh it is!!
How is everyone else? Has anyone else done anymore planning?0 -
Hi Quaveriw! Welcome to this cosy little thread!
I am also not looking forward to being centre of attention on the day - I'm DREADING walking down the aisle and having to speak in front of everyonetrying not to think about it just yet lol!
I've not done anything else yet, all the major things are done now for me: Church, Venue, Car and DJ all secured with deposit.
Next thing I think will be the invitations, I did fancy making them myself but I don't have all the kit, I don't want to print them on my desktop printer because the quality won't be right (I used to work in a design studio with really good quality kit so I can't look at a basic home printer in the same way these days :rotfl: print snob...). Might have to investigate vistaprint or similar, does anyone know if they send out proofs so you can check their materials and print quality?
I'd quite like to design them myself though, I like quite modern style I wouldn't bother with all bits stuck on. Hmmm dilemma!
Dunno what else? Dress obviously, but I'm not bothering with that yet. Concentrating on the diet is one thing, I have actually lost 3lb since last week so not bad so far - only a few more stone to go lol :rotfl:

Oh forgot to say PinkPrincess, that sounds like a fair price for that sort of thing. It's about what our place was asking for the same kind of thing. I'm sure you will be able to convince him, I can convince mine of anything where food is involved haha
