I dont blame you fo drooling- that dress is stunning. And the ones on honeypie boutique are so nice aswell. I do love the 50s dresses.
I think ill just have to limit my hair choices and go for the glitzy secrets tiara.
Well I reckon it was about 9 months ago that we decided on a date for the wedding and its whizzed by so lets hope the next 15 or so months go nice and quick- and it will definately be this july and your dress shopping trip before you know it!0 -
We agreed to marry each other Feb half term 2010, we set the date at the end of August 2010.
Nearly 8 months ago - wow! (And gulp at the same time!) Can you imagine 8/9 more months time? That'll take us just into 2012... eeek! Our Year!!

Hey all:)
My venue had a wedding Fayre yesterday so we went with my mum and OH parents. OH parents havnt seen the venue yet and they loved it:j.
The ceremony room was set up so i took some pics. I got OH to stand at the front and i pretended to walk down the aisle:rotfl:.
OH now wants to have a casino table for the evening. So he's going to look into that. Bless him he got really excited about all the things we could have like the casino table, chocolate fountain, ice cream van and a magician. If he wants a casion table and it will make him happy then he shall have it!:)
Also we won a free meal at the venue:)
Natalie the donnalee dress is lovely.
Laura yay for getting the bowls!0 -
Good afternoon everyone!
Well I've had a hectic morning so far! Early this morning one of our koi jumped out of the pond and died - luckily it wasn't one of my favourites. So I have been testing the water to make sure there isn't too much nasty chemicals (that the fish produce), and I've emptied around a foot of water from it and am slowly filling it back up (it's taking a while - the pond is 5ft deep, 5ft wide, 12ft long). Hopefully whatever caused it to jump will right itself and we don't lose any more. (We've only lost a total of two fish since we built the pond two years ago so really we've done very well). While I was out there though I decided to use the water from the pond that I was emptying to clean the patio - so I spent about an hour scrubbing it with a stuff brush... Got a burst blister on my thumb. Lol all very Cinderellay lol.
I haven't got anything weddingy planned. But if I get a spare minute I might have a play with creating some doilies to go underneath our cheesecakes. I have promised to not spend any more money this month lol. Have spent way too much this holiday so far lol. Oh one thing weddingy I have done is email the bridal shop that stocks the Alice dress and asked if I can change my appointment with them from the afternoon to the morning. I think I need to start my dress shopping experience by trying it on so I can either fall in love with it or discount it rather than having it in the back of my mind. I have also asked if they could indicate which price bracket the dress falls under (£0-500, £500-1000, £1000+). Fingers crossed I get a response soon!
LauraR :T at getting loads of blue bowls I bet they are going to look brilliant!! Mmm blue sweets... lol oh you HAVE to get some blue smarties... do they still do packets of just blue ones? Lol If they don't just imagine how many tubes you'll have to go through to get a whole bowl full of blue smarties!
Oh wow an open topped bus!!Am happy for you that she's getting more involved.
LauraL - Oh how brilliant that your venue was having a fayre! And how great that you got to do a trial run lol of sorts anyway. I am starting to get a bit anxious about how the actual ceremony is going to run... like when I get there will everyone be inside the room, will it just be me and my granddad. I *think* the registrar has to see us before the ceremony, so will I be able to stay away from MrD if I decide to do the whole 'not seeing me before I walk down the aisle' thing, when I get to the room will MrD be stood where he should be (lol), will they know what song to play, after the ceremony where are we allowed to go to have a few snappy snaps... it's all very much the unknown! I could do with someone I know getting married in our registration office so I can have a trial run through! I hate the unknown! (To the point where if I have to drive somewhere new I'll look at Google's street view!)
Oh how fantastic having a casino table... oh I can sense a theme coming on. You can add a dress code to your wedding - I can imagine everyone all wearing ganster type dress(Okay so I wouldn't want it to turn into a 4 wedding where only 3 people turn up wearing the dress code!)
What sort of casino games would he like?
Your favours could be a set of chips for everyone to use/keep! Okay I'm getting carried away here lol.

I have just received an email - hurrah they can see me in the morning so I can go and try that dress on first - that way I can either hate it and move on... or love it and compare every dress after that to it.
Anyway she also told me which price bracket it falls in... GULP! Lol. I knew I'd have expensive tastes lol. £500-£1000. Lol Right off to email my mum!0 -
... just noticed it is now less than 15 months till my wedding!! Gulp!0

HI everyone!
Aaaahhh I love the first Monday of the holidays - it's the first 'proper' day of relaxation and doing whatever the hell you want! Apart from today, however, I am waiting for a parcel which seems to be taking bloody forever to get here :mad::mad:
So I have decided to productive and do some wedding quote stuff while I am actually available for people to get back to. So, so far today I have gained quotes from 6 DJ companies - the cheapest by far was one that I have actually had recommended to me by a few people, so I am pleased about that. I've set up a meeting for next Wednesday for us to go and discuss and get a finalised quote, and if it's any good I will pop in and pay the deposit on the Thursday (payday yay!).
I've also looked at some wedding car hire, but they all seem to be the old fashioned ones which I don't really like. I've seen this one though http://www.leicesterweddingcars.co.uk/webgallery.htm and I quite like the pale blue Jaguar - it's only (only  - what does this wedding stuff do to us! :rotfl:) £295 for all the drop offs and champagne drive and everything so might go with that one. I will have to wait a bit before booking though as my own car needs the exhaust doing - taking it in tomorrow and hoping for it not to need too much money spending on it.
So thats it, I am all weddinged out now!:rotfl:But at least I am catching up with some of you wedding planning machinesand if I go with those people I will have knocked about £150 off the estimated cost as I had budgeted £350 for car and £600 for dj :T
Natalie - £500-£1000, OUCH - I bet you are secretly hoping it looks awful onMind you there are plnety of dresses similar to yours so I bet you can find one just as pretty but better value for money.
Laura, I really like the ide of the sweetie table but I know I would never be able to keep my hands off it. Get you with the bargain bowls, thats fab! What sort of sweets are you going to have? I could only think of blue Smarties!
YAY for Tesco Vouchers - I have over £70 saved up now and I can't remember if I said this before but Tesco actually do wedding rings! I am so getting the £45 one if it's still about nearer the time. :rotfl:http://direct.tesco.com/p/inc/homepage/jewellery/diamondrings.asp?category=wedding I know I'm a cheapskate I just can't help it!
Talking of nearer the time, do none of you worry that the things you are picking out now won't be right then? Things like the venue, church, etc fair enough because obv they have to be done early, but I didn't want to buy the rings yet because I might have fatter/thinner fingers in 12 months time, same with the dress/hair stuff - I'm worried that I might put on/lose weight (2nd one is unlikely the way I'm going lol) and then all the hard work choosing will be wasted!
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
I hope the parcel is worth the waiting!!
:T on getting some quotes!! And even better :T on saving money!!
Ah yes - cars... what a nightmare they are!! I was thinking about this today - I've decided because of the way we're doing our wedding we're not getting a car (lol thank god might need that money for my dress), and if we do the whole arriving separately thing then whoever I go with won't know where to park. Basically I moved to this town to be with MrD - none of my family are from around here, nor do they visit it really - if they come they come to my house, never going into town. So I am thinking on the day, for my own peace of mind I will probably drive myself to the registry office!!At least that way I won't have to panic about giving directions to the carparks, and where to tell them to go if one is full up! (We live in a small market town that has little 10 space carparks scattered all over the place). Lol the only major downside of this that I can see is a) what if my pretty (expensive!) dress gets all dirty while I'm driving, and b) I'm not convinced my granddad can get in and out of the seats in my lowered 206 sport car. Lol Aaaaah wedding organisation - don't you just love it!! Ha sorry Mel - that turned into a bit of a 'me post' didn't it!! I think the plate blue jag is lovely. And Jags to have lots of leg room for all your dress.
"I bet you are secretly hoping it looks awful on"... ha the complete opposite... the sensible level headed me is hoping that it looks awful, but the little girl inside me is hoping it looks lovely on and that I just have to have it lol. :rotfl:
It is funny - I think that was what caused me to have my big wobble over the chairs - the whole 'will they be right in 15 months time'. The rest of the bits I've bought - like shoes, flowers, etc I tell myself well if I change my mind I can always sell them on/use them for something else (like I'd keep the flowers and make a vase up for a room in the house). But the big 'hiring' things I worry about - I really am so grateful that I'm not having to find a venue - cause what if I changed my mind?! Lol. Sorry I'm probably not helping those of you who have found their venue!0
