We are lucky because most of it has been organised as part of our package. I was also lucky that when i emailled my hotel to confirm prices i quoted the prices I had got (last years prices) and he was lovely and honoured them.
I have offered our guests a choice of meal (but there is only 14 adults and 2 children) at a cost of £34.95 a head for adults and £10.99 for the kids
I have done a lot of shopping on ebay for things like favour bags, my post box and goodies for favour bags. Keep seeing more and more but have to draw the line somewhere
Bit worried about the extra bridesmaid and sorting her dress at such short notice but never mind. It will be done by next weekend when inlaws see her£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -

Welcome to the thread StokieBecks :j
wanchai - that sucks about the prices. I guess you fought for it and they still said no?glad that the rest of the meeting went well though!
babyboots - yes yes yes to the videographer!! I really want one, so I want someone to have one! (I'd have done it but.. it's a short and simple ceremony, and then the pub meal with no speeches or first dance or anything.. it didn't seem like there'd be much to film!!)
I'd also say get your place cards online. If it's just the standard folded cards you're after you can get them really cheap online and sounds easier than that hassle.0 -

- send dress to MoH to try on
- buy sash for MoH dress
- buy shoes for DD
- buy hair clip for DD
- visit flower wholesalers and order flowers
- make DDs flower posy (silk flowers)
- make 'guestbook'
- design and print table signs
- decide on music and reading for register office
- collect notice of marriage thing and take to register office
- pay for ceremony
- decorate jam jars for the tables
- buy some kind of bolero/shawl thing for me
- buy dress for the evening for me
- wear in my shoes
- get hair cut
- make or buy tissue pom poms (probably buy - who am I kidding?!)
- have engagement shoot !!

OMG, my list has different things on it but is as long as yours if not longer!!! :rotfl:
Yes, we did argue about the prices - we both distinctly remembered them saying it, AND we'd talked about it, so we're really miffed.7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

That is such a shame wanchai. I guess that's why they like to have their meetings so late! They must catch a lot of people out like this0

I know.
I'm raging.

Wanchai such a shame they didn't honour your prices
i was really lucky the guy I had regular email contact with had wrote he would honour what I had on the paperwork they had originally sent and when he gave me a full invoice i checked to make sure he had.
I have today been to Poundland and they had boxes with 5 Ferrero Rocher in. Bought 14 for te adults attending the meal on the actual wedding day as a nice favour
My favours for the party are coming along well. Just need some chocolates or dragees to go in them now.
Smithkinson - i need new underwear tooi best get looking
Venue and legals all paid for, meal in the evening paid for (along with wine and speech drinks plus orange juice for the kids and drivers)
Need to pay florist tomorrow morning now for the extra posies, buttonholes and corsages (my posy and other halfs buttonhole were included in our package)
Photographer included in package, transport for me included in package, 2 nights bridal suite included in package
Sister is doing my hair on the day
Shoes have been worn around the house on a few occasions
Rings fit perfectly and are away safe
It's definitely all coming together. Thanks so much for the welcome. I never used this part of board before but am so excited now it all seems real£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
I'm amazed at how many peeps pay for their reception meal before the wedding!! Over here, it's the norm to pay the day after. I wouldn't want to pay it all upfront in case there were problems e.g. if the meal was cold or something else went wrong, I would be wanting a reduction in the bill.7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs
