    A sweetie table sounds like favours to me!!

    When I was talking to my BM about favour ideas she said to her OH 'what do your think they should give people for favours at the wedding?' and he said 'lifts?'

    I don't think he quite got the concept ;)

    It's still a favour! I've seen it a lot on blogs and it's often done as the favour. You just need a sign that says to pick your own and it's clear that it's the favour, I think. I've seen people stamp the paper bags with a little 'thank you for coming to our wedding' or whatever too

    Cor you lot are chatty today!! :)
    Well I'm now collecting my dress next Saturday - gutted - our car failed it's MOT, and without a valid MOT I can't renew the Tax which is due tomorrow. And it's not going in for it's MOT 'fixing' until next Friday - bloody Jubilee!!

    On the brightside the dinning room/stairs/landing are so close to being ready for painting :T And I've finished my order for tomorrow night which includes the ingredients for our cheesecakes - I plan on making one tomorrow night, one first thing Sat morning, one Sat night, and one first thing Sun morning :T (I need 4 cake tins really but that'd be around £35!! So I'm having to use the one I have four times).

    We aren't having favours - but at this rate each 'couple/family' will be able to take a bottle of wine away with them ha! :D

    Oh and we're not having a first dance, or cutting the cake. And I reminded MrD's mum last night that speeches are banned. :D

    Natalie- thats a shame about your car. Does that mean no car for the half term? :j on making the cheesecakes soon.

    Ive just emailed the photographer- luckily he had suggested the one Saturday Im free. Ive also asked how much he would charge for 3 hours, we really dont want one for long, but I am a bit concerned that it will be rushed, so I thought if I get an idea of costs for an extra hour, I can then see how I feel once Ive meet with him and gone through the plans for the day and will then see how it all works out. We have money left in the pot so we could stretch to extra time if we feel its needed.

    I think we are having speeches- well more toasts with a few words, but I think we have decided against a first dance!!

    :( Unfortunately it does mean no car until next Friday when they'll give it a MOT and I can get it taxed. (I'm a good girl and would HATE to be caught driving an unMOTd and untaxed car!!)
    But as MrD told me I have plenty to do in the house :eek:. We have had a really good crack at the landing tonight though. We're so close to painting. Cannot wait :T I've said I'll get my cheesy tunes on and dance the days away with a roller in one hand and a paint brush in the other :) (Actually looking forward to it). I also need to get digging. So my plans for half term:

    * Paint the dining room, stairs and landing.
    * Transplant more of the grass from one area of the garden to the other (and give the whole lot a good mow).
    * Make all my cheesecakes
    * Cook all the sausages and refreeze them
    * Practice my hair and make up
    * Collect my wedding dress.
    :T

    Wonder who is going to be the first to officially say we're getting married next month!! My vote is for Wanchai - our midnight owl :)

    I expect you're right about Wanchai getting the first post in June! That's a shame you won't have the car, but your half term indoor plans sound fun.

    It's a bit up and down here. OH's mum is back in hospital and worse. My sister (who I haven't seen in person for a year) and my little niece (who I've never seen in person, are flying in tomorrow to take up residence until the wedding - yay! :j

    I've been feeling quite stressed at how much there is to do - studying, 37 tasks left on the wedding to do list, we may need more time out visiting OH's mum in the next few weeks, and it seems uncertain if I'll have a job to come back to after the honeymoon. It sounds like there could be a few different opportunities, but no actual offers on the table. I'm trying not to worry about it yet, but feeling a bit overwhelmed.:eek:

    On the plus side I finally happened on a good idea for wedding favours, and one DIY decorating idea that OH thinks is a bit expensive/timewasting, but I'd like to do if I get the time.:)
