I'm just going to wash my hair on the morning of the big day and let it dry into whatever shape it sees fit. I have long given up trying to battle my curls into submission. ;) So no need for a hairdresser for me. I'll probably do my own make-up too, though my almost-SIL has offered to do a trial for me. I won't bother with a fake tan, though I'm lucky that I tan easily so I'm pretty bronzed already just from going about my daily business in this weather!
I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Im hoping not to need fake tan. Im very paranoid at the moment though that im going to end up with dodgy tan marks! Im quite luckily though that when I get the sun I do tan easily (which is fine the whole time I remember to wear a strapless top!!:rotfl:)!

My dress was missing the top 2 buttons when I got it, I have them they just need to be sewn on, mil2b was going to do it, but I decided that I may aswell drop them into the dress maker then once its been altered and the buttons put on I can then drop it straight into be cleaned- so hopefully tomorrow I will get an idea of when I will get my dress back!

    Hows the shopping going Natalie??:D

So far I've found two dresses, what do you think?

    I like the debenhams one.

Does anyone have any recommendations for hymns and readings?

Have ordered the Debenhams one - they have a 20% off at the moment (didn't last night else I would have ordered it then!!) :D

I did say I was going to stop the epic posts, but you are a talkative bunch and lots has happened in 48 hours!

wanchai - we've told our airline we're on honeymoon too, in the hope of an upgrade. :D Our tickets arrived yesterday, and we realised our check-in is a bit too early to happily get to the airport the same day, so we're looking to travel the previous day and get a hotel. I really wanted one night at home between the wedding and the honeymoon, but I'd rather be there in plenty of time so I'm not feeling stressed. Now the choice is, stay at a £29 travelodge (not very honeymoon?) or use loyalty points collected for a free night at a more upmarket hotel (bit of a waste if we arrive at 11pm and leave at 8am?).

Love the idea of your knickers being your something old! How is the fake bake looking?

I can't see the black band on the photo of your hair decoration. Are you wearing any black in your accessories at all, so it would fit in? If you want to hide it, how about pinning your hair over the band? You can't see the band in the photo and you have quite thick hair, so it seems like you could cover the band with some judicious pinning - maybe get someone else to practise it on you!

Lauralou - hope your BM is ok! I think smithkinson's list of bib suggestiosn is fab for your cute cute DD.

FutureCooper - it's definitely a no to fake tan on the day from me - too much hassle. I only tried it the once, and it wasn't St Tropez.

MrsDrink - have you booked your honeymoon hotel through a travel agent who is offering you a different hotel, or is it the hotel themselves telling you there may be some noise? It might be worth asking what the works are and which parts of the property it affects- this might give you an idea of how much it might impact your stay. If you respond to the letter (mentioning it's your honeymoon), it might prompt them to offer some recompense (upgraded room away from the noise, free dinner as a sorry?)

I love your debenhams dress - very MSE with the discount too. I'm thinking of ordering one for me... but I wondered if the back is too low to wear with a strapless bra?

how annoying that your OH has invited people without agreeing it with you first! Tut, tut! Sounds like he has some making up to you to do! Yay for sending off the ceremony details though.:j

pbny - the readings we chose were Marlowe's The Passionate Shepherd to his Love and Rossetti's A Birthday. We're not having hymns though. Wanchai is having a church wedding, maybe she can suggest something. I vote for ones your guests will know - better than a case of the mumbles!

biscuitmad - don't worry, my wedding to-do list looks very long! I think it can seem like everyone on here is ahead of you, and has covered off lots of tasks you haven't yet, because there's so many of us doing different things in a different order. Someone might be doing something you haven't yet, but maybe you've already ticked off something they still haven't got round to. And the Maldives sounds wonderful! Have a fab time!

RSVPs: We're down to just 3 non-responders. Two are a couple that are trying to making it but there are logistical difficulties (it's a long story) and 1 is just not respomnding to emails, facebook messages (to be fair he is rarely on facebook) or voicemails. He lives 2.5hrs drive away else I'd be tempted to bang on his door til I get an answer, one month after the RSVP due date.

Ladies, we all live in different parts of the country, can we organise ourseves into a UK-wide hit squad to chase down recalcitrant invitees? Anyone fancy demanding RSVP with menaces for me in Nottingham? I'll return the favour by doorstepping non-responders in the west country!:rotfl:

Anyway, we've had a little play with seating plans, and it really depends if the last three come or not. If they come they make up a well-suited table of 9. If they don't, we have a table of 6 (the rest are 8-10) which looks a bit sad, so we'd have to shuffle others from tables they're better suited to, so the six don't look like rejects! I'm not going to spend any more time on the table plan til the last 3 respond (I tell myself...)

The scales aren't budging here girls, I'm so cross! I know that I'm prob losing inches rather than lbs but it's disheartening seeing the numbers. Must do better. We're visiting friends this bank holiday weekend and there will be alcohol involved, but after that I'm not drinking if I can help it until the wedding!!!!

smithkinson - YAY for you giving notice to marry, that's fab!!!

Emma - hope you get your dress back really soon, avec buttons! :)

Natalie - I prefer the Debs dress too, glad that you ordered it and yay for saving £10!!! :D

Is anyone else having a second dress? I'm not - no way will I want to take mine off :D but it's different from Natalie as she is having 2 occasions to wear it so a second dress for the first evening is a fab idea :)

It hasn't since Laura has been busy being a fabulous mum, but I have been updating the 'updated list' - which the boardguide has linked to in Laura's original post. You can see it here:

I know!! I was tempted to get my red pen out :p

Ooops, how did I miss that post!!! :D

Oh and :rotfl: at the red pen!
Who was it that was trying the fake tan?? How did it go?? I've had to cancel my spray tan on Saturday but I've gone a lighter shade of pale since the weekend of sunshine so I'm thinking of trying St Tropez . . . Anyone tried that?

It was me - I tried Fake Bake Fair and it hasn't turned out too bad - it's quite subtle, but another couple of practice runs will definitely be needed to perfect elbows etc. It was only £9 on Amazon! :money:

Oooh, tricky one. I'd be inclined to go for the Travelodge as you really will be just in and out again, and save your points for a night in the posh place after your honeymoon. :DOr could you stay in the area (i.e. further from the airport but still close enough for the flight) and get somewhere nicer than the Travelodge for slightly more money? IYKWIM? BTW, hope you get an upgrade!!! :)

Fake Bake is looking pretty ok actually - see above! :A

Good suggestion re my hair! Thing is, I was going to put the JP headpiece on after I take off my veil (after dinner probably) to glam up for the evening. It might not go with my veil and all my jewellery is pearl. Hmm. :o Maybe I'll speak to the hairdresser and see if she can pin it so that it doesn't really show during the day, and then I'll just remove the veil and voila!!

Boo to all those non-responders messing up our table plans!!! I've started mine but I'm waiting on 19 RSVPs!!!! So far we have 89 yes and 11 no. I'd be on for joining the hit squad, fab idea! :rotfl:

pbny - we'll try to give you some recommendations :) Is your ceremony religious or civil? xx

I dont really have any outstanding rsvps- well oh needs to double check his Dad is coming, but all day apart from him are sorted, and Im not going to go out my way to chase evening ones, but Ill happily join your gang if anyone has any in the South that they want me to chase!!:rotfl:

Wanchai- as long as your losing inches your doing well. :D

Natalie- I prefer the debenhams one aswell. Hope it doesnt take too long to arrive.

Wanchai- no 2nd for me, its going to be difficult enough to get my dress off (one because its lovely and I wont want to take it off but 2 because its button backed with a corset underneath so its far too much hassle to change!!

I hope I am losing inches!!!! My tunny has been bloated the last few days, it is getting me down. I'm off to my personal training session tonight, really need to work hard at this for the next 6 weeks. :o

I'm thinking of not bothering with favours, am I a bad person?
