Laura Hope it goes ok at the venue today and you love it:) Once you get the church and venue booked you feel you can start planning and booking more things:)
Natalie Thanks for the info on your flowers - im thinking of maybe making my own but i just dont know wherre to start.
Emma Hope your first day back at work goes ok. :jFor getting the dresses hope you like them:D.0 -
I started by looking at colours of flowers... reddy/burgundy ones and pretty much it all fell into place from there. I decided early on that I didn't want the formality of roses, I wanted something summery and fun... hence gerberas

Hey everyone! Im on my lunch and just couldnt not come on here!!:rotfl:. Im missing at all things wedding. I have received my car booking thing so thats one less thing to worry about. Was going to do a funky pigeon order but will do that tonight as lunch is almost over.
I was going to go for gerberas but im not sure I will find any that are just right- mil2b said they are struggling to order in fushia flowers at the mo- although she is on the look out for me, and it doesnt matter if I have to get them online as long as I can find the right ones. I did surpise myself though when I was at the place that mil2b works cos she was showing us some pink bouquets, and one of the ones I loved was quite dainty flowers with quite a lot of greeny dainty flowers mixed it- they lloked really nice, so thats another option.
Hope everyone is having a good day.0 -
Hope you've had a lovely morning and have been eased back into it slowly.
I would offer to help look for flowers lol but I suspect that is a role your MIL2B is probably really enjoying!0 -
*gulp*
Reassurance needed!!!
Okay so I've done a lot of my OU assignment - just got a little bit left to sort out tomorrow. (I could have done it this afternoon but I had had enough of it). Anyway as my reward I thought I'd look (and stroke lol) my wedding spreadsheet.
So... I have decided that this holiday's wedding spending would be for the gazebos (will place the order on Friday, and go and collect them from Tescos two weeks later when I'm out that way - lol assuming I don't get all antsy and want to go out of my way to collect them)... and the chairs...
I have sent the company an email to say yes we'll go with them. Told them we want 20 chairs (for now - she has said I can add to them if I want to at a later date), and given them the dates and address for delivery and collection. She has sent an email back asking for a deposit (£20, which is half of the total cost.)
So I'm now say here almost hyper ventilating lol. It is crazy - I've bought loads of little bits and bobs towards the wedding... but yet this one has left me freaking out - in a "omg it's really happening" kinda way. Argh!
Someone please soothe and reassure me lol - I'll get the cheque in the post to them tomorrow!
Lol - isn't this whole wedding planning malarky fun!0 -
good afternoon......
I now have a venue
It is lovely not as big as id like but it is lovely inside and out the people i spoke to where so helpful.
I am have a buffet in the day and then another in the evening... (of different standards) they sent me away with the menu and told me to alter it to what i wanted then then can give me a more definate price but likely to be around £1000 they have a DJ with all the equipment and they only charge £2.50 a bottle for corkage... so im prob looking at £1500 with DJ and decorations etc. which is £600 cheaper then the last venue and its closer to home(less then a mile away) so dont have to worry about transport for anyone.
im soooo happy!!! cant wait to sit down with OH and discuss things in more detail so we can get a deposit paid!
I found some gorgeous button holes on ebay for the men which i will start buying next month, i need to find some white ones to match for the women though! x0 -
Oh that is BRILLIANT news LauraR!! :j Jumping up and down with you!!
And that definitely sounds a very MSE venue!
Fantastic!

:jLaurarobby, so pleased for you that you have found your venue, thats a huge tick of your list. And the prices sound reasonable aswell.
Mrsdrink- hope your feeling ok now, i think that booking the bigger more expensive things do make it seem more real, ive found that, like booking the car yesterday, I knew it was the one wanted but on the way there did start thinking 'are you sure', even though I knew I was 100% sure.0 -
Lol you are so right - it's the booking of things and the feeling of is this the right one... I can totally understand any little moments of uncertainty - lol god knows how you lot are making decisions over Venues - I'd be a complete wreck!! I mean I'm a bag of wobbles over some chairs for crying out loud lol.
At least this is the only thing that we'll be hiring on the day - everything else we'll be buying ....
... omg what if I have this when I'm trying to find a dress... I'm really not the most decisive person - lol I mean all the decisions we've made so far has taken over a year to make!! Hahaaaaa oh my - my mum is in for a fun day isn't she!! Hahahaaa0 -
:j:jCongrats on the booking the venue Laura:D
Natalie - Now breathe slowly in and out. Calm now?! but :jfor booking the chairs:)
Ive ordered the bridemaids shoes:D
I have started a thread about this but i'll ask here as well. My sister is looking into bridemaids shoes for me (getting married in december) but in heels i'm a size 2 so she is finding it hard to find me nice burgundy shoes in a size 2 and plus im not very good in heels! I dont know where else to look, tried ebay, petit feet and barretts?!0
