That cake looks really pretty LauraR!0
-
Lol Emma. In my dream my 'work' dress was a bargain of £200 - I was well happy cause that was under budget!! Ha!
LauraR - Cake - yepI have decided what we're having (lol note the 'I' and 'we' in that sentence lol....) We're going to have 5cm square cheesecakes for everyone. That will be the only dessert I'm going to do - if people don't like them - tough... lol will be more for me to eat!!
*disclaimer - to be fair to MrD while I have organised pretty much everything, he has had a say in it all, I have shown him the options so he could help. If anything it's me reining in the purse strings - like with the marquee I think he'd be happy to spend a fortune hiring one, where as I'm planning on spending just over £40 for 2 3x3 gazebos which we can then sell on afterwards! Ooops I was supposed to be defending him here and it's turned into a mini rant! Lol. Love him really!
i saw a 3x6 for £40/45 somewhere last week... i "think" it was homebargins. i thought that was a good price,
i know what u mean OH would spend a fortune if he was planning it all... probly a good job im doing most of it really x0 -
Oh how rubbish - our nearest homebargins is MILES away! Okay bit of an exaggeration - 21 miles away - at Skeg. By the time I've factored in diesel to and from it wouldn't work out any cheaper (how dare they not be online!). I think I'm going to go for 2 of these next to each other, and I'll get some burgundy organza to tie bows on the legs. http://www.campervanaccessories.co.uk/royal-3x3m-white-raffia-gazebo-p-563.html But I'm open to suggestions/findings!
*edit* oh and they must be white.. I can find loads of cheap(ish) green ones but who wants a green one on their wedding day!0 -
im sure with ur skills it will look beautiful but if i see any on my travels ill let u know.
im so excited to get things booked even more so now we have to money to do it. it will feel so much better and more official lol... hopefully we will get calls back today.
our nearest town/city is hull and its 20miles from us but we have to go there as there is nothing near us we have to go to do our food shop and everythingits pants.

I live in Louth - our nearest big town is Grimsby - lol but I hate it there, I'm from Lincoln so when I have to go anywhere I tend to pop there... in fact that is where I'm off this afternoon - getting my hair done, and will pop into Lush while I'm there as well - heaven!! (They have a body butter bar thing that makes my elbows so soft!)
I have seen a white gazebo on tescos direct for £17 each. I guess I could get it delivered to the store and then collect it on my way home from work. I say 'guess' cause Tescos Direct's website always causes my webbrowser to freeze! I do tend to use Tescos online groceries - lol bloomin hate food shopping - it's really the only time MrD and I fall out - imagine the two of us walking around a supermarket - what do you fancy for tea... dunno... well decide cause we need to get something!!0 -
ah i can see grimsby from my house across the river
we tend to do our food shop online but sometimes just need to go instore as i like a gander at the offers and stuff... not very often though!0 -
LauraR- Any news on the venue yet? and the church? I think your cake idea would be great. Im struggling to decide between a proper cake and cupcakes- I am very tempted with the m and s cupcales with a fruit cake topper, but ill just have to hope they still have them next year!!
I have paid the deposit for the car- so thats half of that paid. Also I popped in to see my mum and we decided to have a look on the littlewoods website and I found a dress that may be perfect for my bridesmaids- Im not 100% sure its the right colour but Ive ordered them and can see what they are like in the flesh- and we saw them and liked them- and then saw the price, a bargain at £35. Ive ordered a couple of different sizes and we can judge if they will be suitable for my little sister.0 -
OH is just on the phone to the vicar now.....
Venue the person i need to speak to isnt at work but will call me back....
ill catch up in a min once he is off the phone :0)0 -
Oh that is FAB news Emma - about the bridesmaids dresses - and fingers crossed they will be suitable!!
Oooo LauraR can't wait till he gets off the phone!!0 -
WOOOOO.... he spoke to the vicar.... they have the date available at both our local churchs one we can get married at(the bigger one) the other we will have to go to church for(smaller one)... but they are both lovely the smaller one is the one we really want but not sure how many people it will sit so will have to wait and see what he says... he is coming on the 26th April for a "chat" :0) im so much happier now we are finally getting on with things. OH said he sounded like a really nice guy. (the last vicar who retired just after xmas was horrible and was one of the reasons i didnt want to get married at church)
:0)Very happy
