Oh, Im dreading that Im going to cry the whole way through- happy tears obviously but I hope I can at least compose myself not to cry the whole way through the vows!!
LauraLou- that car is lovely. And good that youll be able to include your mum. I think I may get my mum to go with the bridesmaids, my step dad is giving me away so she wont mind about not being included in going with me!
Oh I may have to have a look at Kefalonia- Ive been to Zante which Im sure is next to Kefalonia and it was lovely there (hence why Im keen to go back to greek Island), or the other place I found was an adults hotel in Gran Canaria- what with it being the summer hols thought it may be a bit quieter and not so hectic if there was no children at the hotel.0 -

Exciting news - my paper craft tools (knife, steel ruler and mat) came today, along with some red card, black card, and white card so I can have a play around with our invites...That'll keep me busy over the next few nights :rotfl: (I'll take photos and share them so you can let me know what you guys think).

:jfor your new paper craft tools MrsDrink. oo please do post pics. Im thinking about making our invites but im not the most creative person in the world and i wouldn't know where to start! May make a trip to our local craft centre in the half term for ideas!
Wedding fair sunday so looking forward to it!:)0 -

I just google-images-d wedding invites and nicked the designs I liked. The one I'm tinkering about with at the moment was liked by MrD as well so that is always a bonus. Lol.
Am going away for the weekend so I probably won't make any first mockups for a couple of nights (unless I start tonight lol) - it's my friends 30th birthday - so I'm off to hers to celebrate with her. I've spoilt her rotten lol, got her a Cath Kidson knitting bag, the extended box set of Friends episodes, and I have just finished making her 36 chocolate truffles. :T I can't wait to give them to her!!0 -
wow seem to have missed loads lol!!!
Lauralou, I'm not very creative either but am having a go at our invites. Theyre going to be quite minimalist though haha!!! Just some butterflies that I got from Ebay, and the words wedding invitation on, and some ribbon to tie in the actual invite, iykwim??
I'll so end up crying as well!!! I had tears when tried my wedding dress on lol!!
And I'm with you on the running down the aisle.OMG am so scared am already starting to panic lol!!! I'm quite a confident on the outside person, but inside I'm sooooo nervous!!! When I talk in front of loads of people I get soooo tongue tied, and then go bright red, argh am dreading it in a way lol!!!! Dutch courage will defo be needed on the morning I think!!!
Have any of you ladies started sorting your wedding insurance yet? Now that I'm paying quite a few deposits out, really want to get covered. Do we buy before we pay deposits, or is it ok to get it after???? I have no idea!!!
Oh, and my make up artist booked my date 6 months agoso need to find another
First thing so far that has been a no, so people are obviously really starting to book up for next year!!! Scary!!!

Nearly panicked earlier. While making the aforementioned truffles I took off my ring (not an 'engagement' ring as such - it was my 30th birthday ring made from my 21st birthday ring's sapphire, and my grandma's engagement ring's diamonds) - went to put it back on afterwards and it wasn't where I usually put it... queue frantic turning the kitchen upside down... in the end it was next to Bun's cage in the 'dinning room'. It must have got knocked off and bounced out of the kitchen.... It was only about 3-4 mins from when I realised it wasn't there to when I saw it on the floor, but omg I felt so sick. I cried out of relief when I found it!
Wedding insurance - I'm not sure whether I will be getting it. The only person that I can think of that I will be dependent on is the bridal dress place, but I'll be sorting that out so far in advance that if it was to go pear shaped I'd have time to sort out an alternative. I think it'd be different it was a hiring a venue, getting a photographer, paying for food etc etc etc. So sorry I'm no help!

Oh and I sent an email off today to the local jewellers who made my ring. They could make me a 3mm plain D- band 18ct white gold (same metal as my ring) for just over £200. I'm happy with that - will get into town and have a look at some point. (May wait till the price of gold comes back down - it was at it's all time high when we got my ring made! Cost a bloody arm and leg and it's 'only' in white gold, and I already had the stones!) Chatted to MrD tonight, he didn't say he wouldn't like a ring... said he'd have to think about it... and he's also confirmed he wants to wear a proper suit (rather than just shirt and trousers as I'd envisioned). He has said no to a cumberband (thank god) but is going to think about a tie and button hole thingy. Lol he's going to make it more formal that I thought we'd have!!0

MrsDrink- we went to tsilivi and I thought it was lovely, but it was my first time to Greek island so I cant compare it, will defiantely have a look at Kefelonia though.Good luck with the invite making- keep us up to date on how you get on, I like the idea of making the invites but Im not very crafty or creative so will give it more thought!! Hope you have a good weekend, your friend sounds very lucky with what youve got her.
I dont think ill be getting insurance, things like our reception venue arent costing us much anyway and only need a small deposit so I wouldnt lose much if things fell through anyway.
Oh MrsDrink, bet that was such a relief to find it, bet those few mins seemed a lot longer though and was full of panic- I would have been the same!
Well I picked my dress up today, cant believe I still have 18 months to wait before I can wear it!:(But I love it, couldnt be happier with it:):)! It is now stored away at someone elses house so I cant keep looking at it everyday!

Well here you go - here is my first attempt at an invite. We're happy with the design of the writing. (Although he's asked me to move the 'no speeches' bit away from his name - so Ive put it just next to the '& party' line). I'm not sure yet whether I'd like a petal 'envelope' design - not sure if it's clean and modern enough to go with the writing. And I think the 'outside' colours are too dark. (May have a try later this weekend of swapping the black with some white and seeing if that helps to lighten it.) Oh and the card is too thick for something like this with so many sheets lapping - but for a very first attempt I'm fairly pleased with it. It is about 10cm x 8cm big. Anyway here are some photos... Oh and if I do go for round bits on the invites I'll invest in a circular cutter.
(MrD has just asked who am I talking to - I said you lot - he said 'anyone who will listen in other words' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: he knows me so well!)0
