Tried on my dress and what a disaster. It is way to small across my chest/shoulder area, around 10 inches too small. It appears that I have become broader in this area since my pregnancy. The dress shop can alter it up to two dress sizes higher. I am just hoping that it is within this range or otherwise I need to look for another dress and would have wasted all that money.
    Am really upset

    Oh Tracey!! ((hugs))
I really know it's no consolation - but just remember the little (well not so little now) bundle of joy that caused the broadening. I bet you would agree that he is worth the dress nightmare.

Did the dress shop give you any indication of how long the alterations will take so you can see if they are able to find the extra inches that you need? In the mean time - remind us what the dress was so we can start searching ebay/preloved etc for the same but larger dress.

Just a thought though - do the rest of your pre-baby clothes fit you? Could there possibly have been a mistake by the bridal shop in their measurements and ordering of the dress.

    BIG HUGS!!

    **edit**
When you say chest/shoulder area - are we talking boobies here?

Oh no, sending you huge hugs. I do agree with Natalie though, Im sure that gorgeous little boy is worth it.

Did they give you an idea of how many inches 2 dress sizes would give you?

Also Tracey what sort of back does it have? Could it be turned into a tie back if it's not already and then add a larger modesty panel?

I was thinking that too. A lace up back can create a lot of extra space, is this possible? xx

It is an Alfred Angelo 1193 in claret.

My Boobs have got bigger but my Mum said that is not the problem it is the breadth of my back which had go wider as well.

Funnily enough my Mum mentioned about getting it done as a corset. We are going to speak to dress alterer on tuesday and see if it possible in this style. I did really want a corset style in the first place, also that would then still fit if I did lose any weight. I will let you know how I get on

Hope everyone elses wedding plans are going well. From what I have managed to catch up on you have all been busy bees.

Tracey - hugs - really sorry your fitting didn't go well. I'm afraid a dress size is anywhere between an inch and 3 inches on the chest from size 4-28, so ten inches is more than two sizes. My dress is too small for me too, and they're making me a bigger modesty panelfor the lace up back, which is £30. Looking at your dress online, I think it would look really lovely with a corset back - and that would give you some flexibility if you change shape between now and July. Hopefully your alterations folks will say they can do it.

Wanchai - we're flying with Thai Airways - we've joined their frequent flyer scheme in case that helps!

MrsDrink - I'm assuming Bun is a pet, (rather than a person!) - get well soon Bun! That's great you've sorted your dive insurance. You are well ahead with your honeymoon plans! We're still working on saving the spending money - we're not as far as converting it yet!

It has been murky and rainy all day here. Rain is forecast all week again! I had a little sulk about the 20 people who haven't RSVPed yet and then went to the gym. One more RSVP yes today brings us to 40 yes :) 13 no :( Fiance is making a yummy roast dinner, which smells great.

Yea Bun is our house rabbit. (lol originally named!)
He is producing small amounts of poop but not as much as he would do normally. He is eating though so that is a relief, and he's getting some moisture from the fresh basil/hawthorn. He is much chirpier within himself though. But I will take him to the vet tomorrow to just get him checked over.
This is a photo taken in August - he's sat in his dandelion pot (aka the Christmas tree pot). Lol. At the time he was going through a large molt so he's a bit scruffier than he currently is. :)

Well I have just organised my own sodding works 'hen' meal. (Which I am resentful over lol). Have telephoned a pub, they can accommodate us, all I need to do is pop in get a couple of menus (just want to check they are the same as the ones on the website), collect peoples orders, and let them know ahead of time. As if I didn't have enough things to organise.. so now I'll be waiting for RSVPs for that!! Grrrr

I'm currently waiting for 3 ceremony day RSVPs and 16 reception party RSVPs, but I gave everyone till the 17th May so they still have a small amount of time. Then I will set the mums on the task of finding out what people are doing!! (And I will chase up one friend who texted immediately to say she had the invite and whether we had a gift list - but didn't actually say whether she was coming!!)
