I was hoping to print my invitations out today but I went to staples yesterday to find some card and they didn't sell any!! and only had budget envelopes. Did anyone do their own invites? Where did you get nice card and envelopes?
I got the cards/envelopes from hobbycraft, they have quite a large range. Hth0 -
Thanks for all your kind words.
We don't really do passionate making up - it's usually a muttered 'sorry' (or a more heartfelt one with a hug sometimes). Are we weird??
Sorry to those who are waiting for RSVPs, hope you get them soon. BabyBoots - I'll come to your wedding and dance like a mad thing lol xx7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

I used PDA Card and Craft online for my save the dates - recommended by Natalie
I actually ended up getting them to print my designs as well because it was really cheap and would save me using all my ink. I got 25 cards and 25 envelopes for just over £20 and they arrived in about 3 days. I just emailed them with my design, number I needed and what kind if card I wanted and they did it all. It was really easy! I actually just emailed them this morning about printing my invitations and RSVP cards
Thanks for the reply about the passport stuff Emma!
So my hair trial was AMAZING! This woman is a genius! I was so happy with what she did and my Mum loved it too! :T
On the list this week is giving notice (we can't do it before 3 months to go in Scotland - We started filling the forms out last night so will get OH to take them in on Friday. Get invitations printed, address them all and post them on the weekend. Sunday is shopping day with the BM's for shoes etc. so it should be a really productive week!
One of the things we are really struggling with is the Flower Girl's dress. I haven't seen anything suitable in Monsoon or BHS. Any other ideas?0 -
wanchai - we are the same. no passionate making up here!
thanks for card replies. I think I'll probably end up going to hobby craft. I only want white card, but I wanted it to be nice card, not just your bog standard cheap card. I'm probably being a bit picky now though! The design is mostly just text, black and purple, so not very ink intensive. it's not really the kind of thing you can pick online though. I thought there would still be proper shops around for this kind of thing!!0 -

what kind of thing are you looking for? I got my daughters dress from John Lewis and they have a nice selection. There's also Debenhams and House of Fraser. Monsoon's online selection is rubbish, they've got lots more in store too. I think Coast do a couple too?0 -
Lovecake - Next have a new flower girl range out online. Sooo cute. Makes me want a little girl again just for the dresses!
SKS - I made/making my own invites. I got patterned card and various quality sheets of paper from Dunelm Mill of all places. They have a craft area now and they have allsorts and they were much cheaper than Hobbycraft. Ebay is also good as long as you know the gsm of card you require.
Wanchai - Hope you guys have made up or at least a whispered sorry this morning. Arguing is healthy - clears the air and releases pent up anger.
Tracey - Pregnancy changes the body i'm afraid. Mine is ruined :rotfl: but i do agree that your boobs and back will still shrink some more yet. I had a friend who had the back of her dress adapted to a lace up to allow 'roomage' for her ample chest. She was still breastfeeeding at the time. It looked stunning and when she lost a few pounds in the week leading up to her wedding it was a godsend for her to just squeeze it in and it secured her heavy boobs.
I have some wording for our place cards to share . . . . just off to search how to copy it on here!0 -

OK so its a bit small and the fonts aren't available on here but i hope you get the gist. The idea is that each line is a different font style in a different colour and they are typeset in perfect lines. So some words will 'pop' out. I plan on having this verse on the inside top half of the menu/place cards and then the guests individual menu choice on the bottom half. :j0 -

Thank goodness someone else is the same as us lol. :rotfl:
Rachel - have you tried Debs, Mothercare etc for pretty flowergirl dresses? Or even samples in bridal shops? That's great about your hair trial, and I hope you have a fab wedding planning weekend and shopping trip with your BMs!
Mel - thanksand I can't wait to see your place card wording xx

How is Bun doing MrsD? He is such a cutie.
Wanchai - what's the struggle with your OOS wording? You seem to have been working on it for a while - anything we can help with? Good luck haggling on the food & drink. It sounds like you've got a very MSE ring for your fiance!
I get to marry my lovely fiance (a year ago today we got engaged:beer: ) and we'll have a fab honeymoon.
I totally missed this post, sorry BabyBoots! Congrats on your engagement anniversary!
Re OOS - I've picked the prayers and readings. But I also want to include a reflection at the end, a blessing on the back cover and a thank you to our families and friends on the inside front cover. Any ideas for those??
Yes, OH's ring will be about £5 from eBay - it's only for one day so silver will do!7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs
