I'd do the same - say thank you for the RSVP and you were annoyed it had been torn open. Or you could say it arrived damaged and you just want to check it was a yes from all of them?

As for early presents - etiquette says you aren't supposed to use wedding presents until after the wedding anyway. I'd let the sender know that a gift from them has arrived safely and has been put away until after the big day. Was it wrapped at all or is it clear what it is?

If not wrapped I'd say "thank you for sending us the lovely wedding gift. It arrived safely and has been put away until after the big day, but we are very excited for it" or something along those lines. depends what it is I guess!

If its wrapped I'd just say "thank you for sending a wedding gift, it has been put away safely until after the big day"

I agree, I'd worry it hadn't arrived if you didn't mention it, but I wouldn't do a proper thank you until after the wedding.

Im back from taking my dress to the dress makers and.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................it fits!!:j:j:j . I am so relieved! I took my strapless bra with me and the dress maker insisted I wont need to wear a bra on the day as the corset with hold me in fine!! The thought of this makes me think  but she obviously knows her stuff! And my dress actually needs taking in around the bust, so for the length to be altered, taking in around the top and shes going to put a hook on so I can bustle it to one of the buttons shes charging me £50, very pleased with this as I had budgeted £100. I felt so good in it aswell, Im just so happy and excited!! This is me :D!! So I have also decided I am going to concentrate on toning up (Legs, tummy and making sure I dont have back cleavage!!) and getting fit rather than losing weight.

Babyboots- I agree with Natalie, I would just make a little comment so they know what happened and would have the chance to say if anything was missing. I would send Thanks out after the wedding, because your also thanking them for coming and sharing your special day etc.

LauraL- she hasnt been around on facebook for a while now, she used to be on there, shall I drop her a pm for you and see what she says?

Im so jealous a couple of you have 3 months today (and some have een less)- I am going to be so jealous throughout July, seeing all your pics and hearing your stories and being one of the last!!

:j on your invites being ready Wanchai.

Oh and we have been out and oh got a new suitcase for the honeymoon!!:D

Oh Emma I hope we don't all !!!!!! off on honeymoon and leave you here on your own!! I'm sure some of the early ones will be back after the mid julyers.

Yay for buying a new suitcase - we are borrowing ours hehe, it's highly unlikely we'll be going away anywhere for a while after the honeymoon because we'll be trying to get a house so there's no point splashing out!

Glad your dress fits!! Sounds like your dressmaker knows her stuff. You could still wear a bra with it anyway though if it will make you feel more comfortable!

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

I have a nice suitcase anyway that is gathering dust in the loft, but oh wanted to get one anyway as he has to work away for 2 weeks in a few weeks so can use it then. Plus Im hoping to go away next year for my 30th!!

I think I will be ok braless, its just something I never really considered, I do usually find strapless bras so uncomfortable that I was dreading wearing one all day, as long as I feel supported Ill be ok!! (which I should be once she takes it in)

I am so sorry, I got distracted by the fact it did up and I loved it, and how it made my waist look good, I forgot to get to ask my sister to take some photos!! (I know, I am rubbish!!)

I'm very jealous at you all trying on your dresses! Mine arrived yesterday but not seeing it for another 4 weeks as the seamstress doing the alterations is off for 4 weeks so shop said it wasn't worth going in until then.wanted to do a tantrum over the phone as I want to see it but I'll be patient and wait and gives me extra weight loss time! Have rings ordered, invites started arriving with people today, have made my name cards for the tables ready to put names on. I've made them with ivory card, ribbon down one edge and have put a dried flower on that I pressed last summer. Have started the order of service cards just need to decide on the order of service though!

For shoes, I got my rainbow club ones half price in the john lewis sale but not sure when the next one is.

We aren't going on honeymoon until September! Even then it's only Center Parcs

Finally found a local flower wholesaler who will sell to the public, so that's that sorted. :T Going to go and have a look around next week so I know how it works.

Pretty pleased with the progress I've made this week (considering we only started planning for July what.. 3 weeks ago now?) crossed off the list this week are
    - buying my wedding dress !! :j :T
    - choosing groom and best man outfits
    - choosing best woman outfit
    - booked the engagement shoot (next weekend! :j )
    - found a flower wholesaler
    - chosen flower inspiration
    - sent final order for the cake (chosen flavours/colours/etc)
    - ordered the favours
    - booked the hotel (rooms for us and wedding party - and reserved a block of rooms for others at a discounted rate :T )
    - found a couple of readings that we think we might use
    - made a rough list of music to use in the ceremony
    - started designing the invitations
    - started working on the wedding website

Still LOADS to do but I feel like I've accomplished a lot this week! :j

    Morning Julyers!!!

The bootcamp was brill yesterday, we had a real laugh. Shattered today though! :)

Today is WEDMIN DAY. I am going to finalise my to-do list and email all our suppliers to get cracking with the details. Particularly the band, I haven't been in touch since paying the deposit and want to send them some song ideas to see if they can do them.

:jYay! I had lots of fun writing these with my fiance. We laid a new tablecloth, put everything out neatly and sat facing each other writing them and talking about the wedding over two nights. I think I will always remember that.:) (Then we have been rushing around with a few others whose addresses we didn't have!)

RSVPs are now up to 32 yes and 9 no. Has anybody received gifts already? If so are you writing thank you letters now, or waiting until after the wedding? I was planning to send letters afterward with a photo from our honeymoon, but it seems a bit rude not to say thank you yet. People might wonder if we received it too....

Oh, and another little dilemma. We received one reply, torn open with a note from Royal Mail, we're sorry this mail has reached you in this condition, if there is anything missing please report this to us. The envelope contained a letter of acceptance, but potentially might have included something else (e.g. a cheque). There was no reference to anything enclosed in the letter. However, another guest has sent us a cheque, and also not referred to it in their letter. We can't really ask the sender if there was meant to be anything in the envelope, because it sounds like we assume there should be! Equally, we don't want to appear ungrateful if there was something in there that went missing and we don't mention it....

Oh gosh, that's so tricky! I agree with what the others have suggested xx

p.s. your OH is so lovely, helping with writing the invitations. We're having the names printed on ours, but we're hand-addressing the envelopes, and I *will* expect him to help with writing the thank you cards afterwards! :D

p.s. I promise to try to keep up with you after our wedding (God bless smartphones :rotfl:).

Not at all! They make impressions of your teeth, then send them off. A week later, the (very thin) moulds arrive, and you do the bleaching at home for an hour or two every evening for about 2 weeks. It's easy as pie.

 I would insist on seeing it if you really want to, it's your dress and you've paid for it! I went to try mine on even though I'm not having a fitting until mid-May!!!
