  • We have been thinking about readings today, after speaking to the registrar and her mentioning them. I thought I wouldn't want them, but as we aren't having speeches maybe they would be nice? I've been looking for stuff but feel a bit buried under soppyness! What is everyone else doing?

Wanchai - well done on your weight loss. Your really doing well and really sticking to it. I have lost another 2lb and i'm not really finding following Paul McKenna's difficult at all. I have everything i love just alot less of it and only when i'm actually hungry.

I had my first day of half term with no workmen round, no appointments and no visitors. Lush . . . . so i got my daughter to try on the BM dress with the shoes and jewellery we brought. It was lovely however the strapless bra showed a little and she kept pulling at the top of the dress as she is so self conscience of her big chest. So we decided that she needs to wear the little spaghetti straps just so she is not pulling at herself all day. Going to tape the dress to the bra as well just as a precaution to keep her big boys strapped down!!! I don't have this problem!!

I am going for a pedicure tomorrow and i will be booking my wedding pamper in too. Yay! Going to treat myself to an overlay manicure, standard pedicure and eyebrow shape on the day before. that will last nicely into my honeymoon.

Oh well done you!!! :j I admire you for sticking to an actual, sustainable eating plan, whereas I'm just doing a no-thinking diet that I would never normally consider at all :o - but I swear, when it come down to it, all I want is to be slim on the day and if the protein shakes help me to achieve that, then great! :)

Ours is a church wedding, so we're having religious readings, but might include some literary quotes on the menus, OOS etc :) If you hate the soppy stuff (I do), try passages from books. There's also a lovely thread on here somewhere with lots of readings on it.

Lauralou - WHOOP for your ring!!!!!!!! :T

I found it really hard to find readings that weren't written in the first person. You know the "I love you because blah blah blah" which doesn't really work when it's not me doing the reading. We're having "The Key To Love" and "The Hands Blessing" which I've posted above somewhere, think I posted them on Monday if you want to trawl back.

:T yay Laura on your ring being ready! And wow well done on the self restraint - waiting till your OH's ring is ready before you go see it!! :)
Mmm themes? Well there is of course the 'pink plastic willy' theme - but somehow I don't think that is very you. One Hen theme that I saw on the boat to Amsterdam (and in Amsterdam) was a Where's Wally? theme and all the girls were dressed up as Wally. What sort of things are you into? Could they be used in someway? Like I love cheesy late90s early20s music (think Steps/SClub7/Five) and I could imagine a theme around that. Or a diving theme - with everyone wearing a mask and snorkel lol. Think about your passions and see if anything is inspiration from them.
Not having cameras on tables - but I know Emma is and she got herself a bargain so I'm sure she'll be on soon to help.

Mel2 awwww that is such a sweet little map thingymajig. Really like that idea. Mmm where would my maps be?
Met - Jumpin Jaks in Lincoln
First Date - Do you know - I can picture where the pub was but can't for the life of me think what it was called... but it was in Lincoln where we did a few pubs before heading back to Jumpin Jaks.
    Married - Our registry office
Honeymoon - Sharm El Sheikh (wooo hooo)
Is the last one Home? Here in Sunny?!?! Lincolnshire!
    Ha not very adventurous!! :D

Im not getting the ring yet only because it will save money on petrol and parking!

    Thanks. Will wait for emma!

Hahaaaa - Such an MSEer!! :D I'm not quite so patient!! (Incase you couldn't tell ha).

Oooo I like that idea of wearing opposites. :) And I bet most people will have a black dress in their wardrobe so would only need some bright shoes. Very classy! Do you know what you're going to be doing on the hen do? Cause I guess that also needs to be taken into account. :) For example Go Ape wouldnt be suitable for a LBD :D

Hi everyone (and lurker - come out come out wherever you are!)
Thanks for the advice on shoes! I'm going to go with my trainers I think for tomorrow.

I like the idea of bright dresses/shoes, you could do a rainbow theme and all wear a different colour (like the Saturdays used to! http://www.panicposters.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/f63dc5ec28f3175f8a7f615bd217eb71/p/p/pp123-saturdays.jpg

That's a good idea Mel for your daughter to wear the straps on her dress. Far better to be relaxed and comfortable!

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Yes I completely agree. Another issue is who to have do the reading.. I'd like to ask my mum, but my dad will be there too and they are divorced and it feels a bit strange to have her read about love and marriage when they are both now with other people..
