    Sorry- de lurking here! :o

The trainers shouldn't really get muddy but If it has recently rained or is raining then I would say old trainers- grip doesn't matter so much- everyone will be slipping.
It's mostly ropes, zip wires, jumping from one piece to another...
Walking boots won't give you enough flexibility. And plimsolls won't give u any support when balancing on a rope. Your feet will really hurt by the end.

Hth- I worked at a country park with a go ape for a few years- so got my fair share of goes! (also going for my hen do!)

    Re-lurks! :rotfl:

And you will have a great time!!

Just got back from seeing Sarah Millican at Sheffield - she was fab - my cheeks hurt so much at the end of it from giggling so much!!

    Morning everyone.

Well the holidays are nearly over. Here's my list of jobs to get done before I go back to school on Monday.

    * Meet my CBMIIWHO (Chief Brides Maid If I Was Having One) for lunch today (or Saturday)
    * Get my hair done - Saturday
    * Get passport photos taken after hair appointment - Saturday
    * Post passport application on Monday morning

Some general ones to be done soon:
    * Kill the stumps (waiting for MrD to get out there with the chainsaw)
    * Dig for new patio (waiting for the stumps to be killed - then I can bury them using the soil I dig up - and transplant the grass there)
    * Decide who is doing which reading (waiting for MrD's sister to choose one)

Can't believe on Monday it'll be The Summer term... THE term we get married at the end of!! Eeeee!

Hi all, I've been reading back the posts since Friday! :)

I had a fab time at mum's, asked peeps to do readings etc for us and they said yes, so am well chuffed :D

The diet is still on track! Well, I did have SOME chocolate over Easter but not *too* much and now I am fully back on the wagon!!!!!! :j

Right so :D I love it hahaaaa
And I've chosen the shoes - lol :p the RC ones have won. Now I'm going to wear my Miss KG ones at the next opportunity (My mum's birthday is coming up and we're off out for a meal so I will wear them then I think). The Miss KG ones were just too grey and not silvery enough.
My jewellery went very well I think.
And my hair was just fab - but to be honest I didn't spend much time analysing my hair/make up. I spent most of the time just staring at me in the dress.

Soooo if you want to see a photo you will have to PM your email address because I'm not putting it into FlickR as I normally do.

    :)

YAY YAY YAY!!!!! And double yay for the shoes! :rotfl:

Ooh, I want to see a pic of the dress, can you pm it to me? xx
    Hi . . . Ooh I've missed you all!!!!

All moved in and unpacked. Got little things to do and alot more cleaning. The house was rank and it's taken a lot of bleach and scrubbing to clean it.

So I need a kind soul to catch me up on the last 5 pages please! I saw on that Natalie has tried her dress on! Yay, how exciting I would love to see it. I'll pm you my email address.

I tried my dress on amongst the bOxes on Wednesday. It was tight but soo much better than when I brought it so another half stone will take the pinch out. Easy peasy *gulp*

Well done Mel, and you got so much sorted at the weekend too, I don't know how you do it! And congrats on the dress fitting, hurrah!!! :T

Update from me: well, I AM FINALLY UNDER 10 STONE woo hoooo!!!! :D:D

Made the appointment today to give our notice, so that's that done, plus the ringmaker got back to me and said it's perfectly feasible to get the rings done in this time frame, if we order soon. :D

I need to start planning the handfasting altar and ceremony, thinking about food ordering (we're providing basic sausages/burgers/buns), flowers (we have to have flowers, apparently?), email my parents to beg for money as Mr G's parents have put in hundreds so far and we're bleeding them dry! And reading this thread I've just gone "Oh £%!". We're meant to have a CAKE?"

I'm going to say what others have said - you DO NOT NEED to have anything that you don't want. Full stop. :D It sounds just perfect the way it is. :)
Ghostlove- you don't have to have a cake! I was just going to make my own, three tiers of simple buttercream iced sponge cake with a little topper, but my mum really wanted to pay for a 'proper' wedding cake so now we are having one. I already have the tins so a homemade one wold have been less than a tenner (and possibly tastier - I do a good cake!)

As a true latecomer I know nothing about you all. Who wants to tell me what they've got planned for their weddings? :j

    OK then!!! :D

Ours will be a vintagey, quirky affair on 14 July (Bastille Day), with lots of little DIY touches (when I get around to starting on them, ahem), and very relaxed. We're having a 1pm church ceremony and going on to a little country house reception venue. I am so hyped about it all!!!

Our total budget is £10,000 (gulp) for about 100 guests and we have spent most of it on the really important things - a really FAB photographer, the food and drink etc - and my dress, which cost £1,300 - it makes me wince even to write it!! But I totally love it and it's perfect, ahhhh.

I am getting excited and nervous all at the same time, I don't know what I'll be like on the day lol! Must get some Rescue Remedy...

I'm trying to lose another stone to take me down to 9 stone - I should have got my act together sooner but I've got the motivation now and nothing will stop me (I hope!). My dress is giving me a MAJOR incentive to get slimmer - I fit into it but could do with looking less chubby, and want my arms to be slim especially.

    Your plans sound fab :D

    Have PMd you Wanchai x
  • Wanchai - well done on your weight loss. Your really doing well and really sticking to it. I have lost another 2lb and i'm not really finding following Paul McKenna's difficult at all. I have everything i love just alot less of it and only when i'm actually hungry.

I had my first day of half term with no workmen round, no appointments and no visitors. Lush . . . . so i got my daughter to try on the BM dress with the shoes and jewellery we brought. It was lovely however the strapless bra showed a little and she kept pulling at the top of the dress as she is so self conscience of her big chest. So we decided that she needs to wear the little spaghetti straps just so she is not pulling at herself all day. Going to tape the dress to the bra as well just as a precaution to keep her big boys strapped down!!! I don't have this problem!!

I am going for a pedicure tomorrow and i will be booking my wedding pamper in too. Yay! Going to treat myself to an overlay manicure, standard pedicure and eyebrow shape on the day before. that will last nicely into my honeymoon.

We are getting married on Friday 27th July (Olympics opening day). It will be at 3pm in a registry office then back to a country house hotel for the wedding reception. We are treating our 40 day guests with transport to and from the register office in a vintage red bus. Hoping to avoid the formality of speeches, first dance etc as its my second time round. We are then having a band in the evening with a cheese and nibbles buffet.

I am having my 17 yr old daughter as my BM and my 19 yr old son as my best man. My theme is buttons and i have made my own button bouquet and i will be making button favours and decorations for the venue.
