Finally got costs for wedding through yesterday, not as bad as thought - before we decide on wine for table and musician it's not far off £1k.
FIL2b has said that he'll pay for the wine on the table
Wasn't expecting that. So providing I don't get too much agro from students about the exams tomorrow I shall spend the afternoon composing email to the venue to confirm the balance of things needed.
H2B nearly spoke to best man, but he's in Sweden at the mo, so phone calls to be had - we need to know, otherwise there will be another groomzilla moment!
No more rsvps, but to be honest there's only eight people that we really need a response from.... hopefully these will come through soon!
So so tired.... looking forward to the long weekend and easy time when no students about, means I can get my archive cleared and everything set for the new term.0 -
I must go through and check my diary to see whats got to be done and when as I think I can start doing things from April!!:j
One thing I need to do is get oh to speak with his brother and see if he can do us a piece of music- I personally think its the least he can do as he cant make our wedding!!:rotfl:
Michelle- thats lovely of your fil2b to pay for the wine. FIngers crossed he can speak with the best man asap.0 -
Michelle that is good news that it's come in a good price for you!!
Well we've had another RSVP for a family of 5So so far we have:
On the day of the ceremony:
4 Yeses, 1 No, and 12 left to get (+ MrD and me)
For the party:
19 Yeses, 4 Nos, and 25 left to get (+ MrD and me)
And we've started looking at the ceremony plan :T0 -
The dress is FAB.
I love it. I didn't want to take it off. Felt terrified about staining it though, what will I be like on the day!!!!!

Oh Wanchai I feel so proud of you - we WERE the same weight when we started our missions to lose weight - but only one of us has actually stuck to it. You are doing soooo well. :T
And great news about the dress!! I had a dream about going to visit mine on Saturday - I dreamt they brought it out and it had purple dust off something all over the hem so they took it into the back and brought out another completely different dress. Not happy. I needed the toilet so I asked to use theirs - went and sat down on it, and all of a sudden everyone in the place wanted to use it and they all gate crashed leaving the door open for the world to see. Not happy. So at this point I decided to go for a walk and left the shop, calmed down, but then couldn't find my way back to the shop to look at my actual dress!! Ha!! Very random!
When are your fittings Wanchai? Are you having them done by the shop or someone else?
Well I have nothing weddingy to do today. Not sure if I've already said - but MrD and I have begun talks about the ceremony (in the car last night while we were fetching a Dominos.) We've agreed to not have actual pop songs being played but to have instrumental type pieces instead. He asked if I'd got anything in mind, and I told him about the Stanton Lanier piece from Body Balance that I adore. And I showed him the ceremony plan and showed what we have to choose. He did keep saying things along the lines of "you choose" to which I kept telling him I want his ideas. We've agreed to ask our mum's to be witnesses - so I've texted my mum to ask her, and we'll ask his mum at the weekend. I reminded him about the "these hands" reading that I would like, and he agreed he'd rather have sensible rather than humourous readings. Think that's all the decisions we made last night. I said really we need to start by choosing the vows and contractual words and any of the 'green' words we want to say, and then choose the readings from there. So we're going to sit down tomorrow night to do that. (He's playing snooker tonight so it won't be then).
My jobs for today:
* Take the photo frame to the post office to return it to debenhams
* Go to the koi shop to get some last bits of piping (we're creating a quarantine/growing on tank in the shed... MrD is really excited about 'showing it off' at the party - he wants a couple of bar stools so people can plonk themselves there and watch the little fishes).
* Find something exciting to do with chicken and pop to Tescos for ingredients.0 -
:j:j Great news Wanchai
Thanks fawny!!!:):)

Thanks so much for the kind words Natalie. :A It's not easy at times (and the protein shakes are getting monotonous tbh), but I just keep picturing myself as (1) a fat, self-conscious bride and (2) a slim, happy bride - and that really works to keep me on track most of the time!
Also, I paid the dentist £300 for a teeth bleaching kit the other day and I have to wear the mould for 2 hours a night for a week - so that stops me snacking in the evenings!!! My teeth are actually getting whiter too, I'm chuffed to bits with them.Don't forget, our weddings are still over 3 months away so lots of time for you to catch me up - and you might overtake me!
I'm sooo damn excited about the dress, even more so as it fits better than it did originally. The (almost) half-stone loss is really showing. It's also spurred me on to keep going and lose more weight!
I'm not having a fitting until my BM's dress comes in in May - I am still intending to be as close to 9st as possible, so no point in the DM altering the dress several times.
LOL at your dress dream!!! :rotfl: And how excited are you about Saturday!!!!!! :j
I wanted our mums to be witnesses as well, but we've gone for our BM and BM as my mum hates being the centre of attention.
Oooh, your fish tank sounds v. impressive! Can we have pics when it's done?
Have you got a link to the Stanton Lanier piece? xx7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Of course
You know what I'm like for piccies!!
When I say 'tank' it's a big one. It takes up over a third of the shed. The main pond is 5ft deep, about 3 ft wide, and around 11-12ft long. The tank in the shed is erm about 3-4ft deep, 4-5ftlong and about 3-4ft wide.
It will be all up and running by Sunday when we'll be going and collecting a koi we have waiting for us in the shop, and any more littlies that jump out at us.
The Stanton Lanier piece I've shared before but I most certainly don't mind sharing again. There are two pieces actually:
This is the first one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGT2z9vmjWM
I adore it - it's so light and twinkly.I imagine me walking in to this and feeling like I'm walking on air.
(it is a bit slow though, I think I'd want it trimming a bit to where it all comes into it from around 1:05). It is definitely long though!
This is the second one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BST8ouLs7m8&feature=related
Very similar really delicate and twinkly. (Listening to them now I think I prefer this one).
I have a few of his pieces - if I could find a third of a similar nature then that could be all three pieces for our ceremony sorted - ha with no say whatsoever from MrD ha!!0 -
That is so cool!!!! Can't wait to see it
I can't get on YouTube at work but will listen to your choons later at home. LOL @ MrD getting no say! The grooms just aren't that interested in most things wedding-related, are they!
