  • Thanks for all the replies re the invites I think I'm going to sit down with oh and think of the best way to word it try to keep everyone happy

I love the hair clips. I've gone for a veil and tiara with my hair up as my oh prefers it up and it's easier to control!

I've been searching for vintage bit's on ebay I really like the vintage birdcages as centre pieces but am still not sure its between these and fish bowls? I've found these ones but I think they might be too small what do you think?

My florist finally got back to me today so now I've just got to make my mind up re the BM's I'm not sure if they should have bouquets of wrist corsages oh I'm so rubbish at making my mind up!

    What about any from here:

I'm guessing you like the side tiara/hair comb pieces - not sure how big a piece you'd get with just pearls. (Looking at the Jenny Packham one could you imagine it made out of just pearls? I think it'd look cheap).

I know, I might end up having to have pearl hair pins rather than something bigger.

I do love the JP piece, it's fab but WAY out of my price range... and also it wouldn't really work with the pearl earrings and bracelet... would it?

Birdcages all the way for me, but then I am a vintage loving gal, so fish bowls would look all wrong with my decor. :D 33cm is quite tall actually, I think they look OK!

What's the price difference between bouquets and corsages? I prefer bouquets because (1) they're bigger and more visible as they're held in front and (2) the BMs can put them down when they need to! :)

If I was a bridesmaid I would hate having a corsage - just because I prefer not to have much on my wrists (I wear a watch for work but then take it off as soon as a Holiday comes)... lol but saying that I will be wearing a bracelet for our wedding - ha!! Perhaps you could ask your Bridesmaids which they'd prefer?

How big are your tables? What sort of shape are they? I think if you're having say rectangular tables with people opposite each other then something as tall as this may get in the way. (I know when I go to pubs and things with MrD and we sit on a little square table opposite each other one of the first things I do is move everything from in between us so I can see him better). But if you're having larger circular tables with more distance between opposite guests then I think 33cm would be fine. :)

I'm sure you could find a similar style side tiara/comb to the Jenny Packham but cheaper, but I think it'd still have crystals of some sort in them. Also you can different dullness/sparkliness of crystals. Not sure but have you thought about the duller ones?
I think if you're wearing pearl earrings, and bracelet then you may not want too much going on in your hair. So little pearl clips/pins might be nicer - and you could position them in a cluster to the side or on the top, or have them spread out over your head like I'll be having (going to have a play with my hair and make up again on Saturday before I go to see my dress - so will get photos again to show you all).

I do really like the bird cages plus the young bm's have butterflies on their dress's so they work well with my theme just think they need something else otherwise they'll be lost on the big round tables.

There's only about £10 difference between them I was just thinking the youngs ones will be better with the wrist corsages so that they don't have to hold a bouquet all day. I think I might just do ip dip do, at solved all my problems when I was little :j
  • The tables are round just wish I could order 1 to check but they are 5 for £55 which I thought was quite good I think I might just go for it if I change my mind I'll give them to people for christmas and birthdays until they're gone

You could dot some small tea lights around the outside of them to help 'widen' them a bit if you were worried about them being lost on a big table. Something like this:

Or if you're putting flowers inside you could enlarge it by having the same flowers in smaller pots like this:

    (Sorry for the big photo!)

Or a wreath type thing around it:

I'm sure there is loads of things to make it more 'substantial' if you wanted to :)
  • I love both these idea's thank you I've seen some little buckets like these.
