We're only giving a gift to our parents and I've got us some photo frames on order. (Oh and my granddad but have him some cufflinks). Who are you struggling to think of gifts for?

Well I got a text this afternoon from my brother asking whether I would do a reading at his wedding :) (Although I then got panicky thinking eeek MrD and I haven't sorted ours out yet - don't want to end up with the same ones :rotfl:)

Diving went well this afternoon. :) But can't wait to get the rest of my own gear (Need £400-500 to finish it off).

Didn't get as much done in the garden as I'd have liked today. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. (Need to borrow a chain saw to chop off the tree/bush trunks so I can then use the stump killer). I did get some path weed killer so I may wander round the house tomorrow killing things :) die die die. :) Haven't finished off the hedges which is really irritating me cause it means I can't cross it off the to do list. Still waiting on MrD getting the step ladder back.

Nothing weddingy here to report - other than I have been eating crap still. Go to see my dress on Saturday - at this rate I won't fit in it!! Argh!! (But that in itself isn't enough to stop me eating crap!)

Well I need to get gifts for my bridesmaids, 30 and 12 and my 4 year old flower girl, dont really want to spend loads though as the 2 bridesmaids have nice jewellery to keep. Im think a nice little mirror for 30 year old (she has one that she always uses so I know if she had a special one it would be used), Im thinking a little trinket box for 12 year old- but could do with more ideas, and Im thinking of a little teddy with personalised t shirt for my flower girl, but again im not sure!! Also need to get best man a present but no idea what- he likes drinking and Spurs!! Also need to get parents presents, but not sure who we actually get them for!!

Oh thats lovely that your brother would like you to do a reading. I would pick yours very soon!!

:rotfl: I did text him to say what was he thinking of having as a reading, and he said they were thinking of having an extract of their favourite books being read. So I think we're fairly safe - there won't be any similarity.

Mmm, Emma, your bestman - could you get him a bottle of his favourite tipple? If you wanted to personalise it you could create your own label "Bestman Whiskey" (or whatever). Flowergirl - What is she into? I think a teddy sounds like a nice idea - could you ask your MIL to do a little minature version of her flower wand or bouquet so you could attach it to the teddy? What is the 12 year old into? Has she discovered makeup yet? I can't remember what I was into when I was 12!! Ha other than boys :p

:) the good thing about being a reader for my brother is it makes a gift very easy to find :) I'll get him a nice photoframe and print out the reading in the same style as their invites (when we get one). :) Easy peasy! :D

  • VTM (do we know your real name??)- Were the cupcake samples for your wedding? I would struggle not to eat them all aswell!! I dont know how I managed to resist the 3 cupcakes we have here last week!! Do you have your dress already and does it fit nicely at the mo?
is a bit scared incase it doesnt!!

My names Sharon should really have put this somewhere.

The cupcakes were unreal even my oh loved them and he's not a cake person ( I wish I wasn't!)

My dress is still at the shop it did fit me perfectly when I found it in Feb but when I tried it on a couple of weeks ago it was a little tight I think I got carried away because it fit me. I'm still waiting to collect my bike but am going to start running again tonight I say running I go around the block then die but it helps.

Plus both my kids are home with me this week so lots of walks to parks etc to keep me away from the cupboards.

Oh drool at the cupcakes Sharon (and you had told us your name before but I think we all just forgot it - lol I went to add it to the updated list but it was already there :D )

So what has everyone done today? Anything weddingy?
    * I have signed the passport application form in my married name :T and written a cheque for the fees - all that I need to put in is two photos and then I can post it on the first day back after the hols :T
    * I'm waiting for the weather to decide what it's going to do before I go and do some more work in the garden - want to get another buzz of the lawns done. It keeps looking like it's going to rain.
    * Have written a cheque out for the ceremony fees (to be posted late May) and signed the application for a new driving licence (thought I best sign the passport application and this at the same time so the two signatures look similar lol).

    Hi everyone

I've just got back from work (booo in the holidays) but I did get quite a lot done. It's amazing how much you can get done when there's no pesky kids around!

I have just left a voicemail for the vicar in the parish where we live to ask how we go about getting the banns read at his church as well as the one we get married in. £34 they want us to pay for the privilege of them reading something out for 30 seconds, three times!

Need to find time to go to sort the flowers out this week too. Dreading that bit! I am going to go shopping with my sister and mum next week too to help my sis choose her bridesmaid shoes, and buy a navy ribbon to replace the black one that's round her dress. Nothing for me to buy just yet.

When we were at OH's mums yesterday she had that Don't Tell The Bride thing on in the background - is it just me or is that a really stupid program?
They sent the woman out to try on dresses, but I thought the whole point of the program was that the bloke chooses? Why would you go yourself? It's only going to upset you when he chooses something crap! AND he had to provide a hen night out of the wedding budget, grrrr no chance that's what your own cash is for woman! And he was stressing out about the bridesmaid dresses and making them try stuff on - ever heard of just letting them choose their own in matching colours? I was getting so angry at the telly! Some people just don't know how to have an easy life!

And plus if you knew you were going to go on it you'd well plan the wedding down to every detail and then just pretend you hadn't lol! :rotfl:

Nice one for doing your married signature Natalie - mine is just a squiggle anyway so if I do decided to change my name I'll just keep the signature the same lol.

Been a bit naughty over the weekend what with eating out a lot so it's back on the wagon for me today - zumba later :)

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Ha I agree with Don't Tell The Bride - so many things you think 'really?!?!' I mean if MrD was planning ours and choosing my dress we'd have at least spoken about what sort of dresses look good on me and what parts of my body need accentuating and which bits need hiding! :)

Right I think it's safe enough to go and do the lawns. :)
