So I've buzzed the lawns again - got another two lawn mower bags full off them. They are looking suitably killed off at the moment lol so may have to wait a little bit before I take it to the next notch.

So that is pretty much all my jobs done for today.
Tomorrow's jobs include taking the car to get a new tyre (grrr got a puncture) and weed kill all the paths and driveway.

Oh and does anyone have any ideas of what I can get MrD for his birthday that I can pack to take to Egypt with us? I don't want to get him anything 'my husband'y or 'our honeymoon'y because it's his special day and I want it to be HIS day rather than OUR day. Well it'll be OUR day as we'll be doing our honeymoon diving all day - but I'd like something so he knows he's the important one... if you see what I mean.
I was thinking I could either get something that I can take with us to give to him, or if it's not practical I could take a photo of it and then give him the photo on his birthday. I'm seriously out of ideas though. Argh!

    I know haha! So stupid!

Obviously it depends on his interests and stuff and your budget, but my thoughts are as follows!

Could it be something diving-y that he hasn't been able to afford at so far? That way he could use it straight away.
If he's into books, a kindle? It could be pre-loaded with some of his favourite authors.
Something for his bikes? You could take a photo of it or give him a clue each day while you're away so he can guess it and then he gets it when you get back! You could take really close up shots of it so he has to guess it haha.

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Ooo I like that idea of taking close up photos and giving him one a day till we get home :D :T! He is a nightmare cause he really has everything he wants.... and he's one of those annoying people who buys himself stuff instead of waiting for a birthday/christmas.
Budget will be around £150. I think it'll no doubt be something bike related cause that is 'his' thing... where as the diving I would guess is more my thing... besides I can't buy him anything without getting me it too lol. :D Going to have to keep my ear to the ground for little hints he may give.
I think I might get him a man cave sign for his garage. :)
  • I have spent the day washing and cleaning my house now resembles a launderette!

But I've managed to do 2 things for the wedding chase up the invitations which I can send out the end of this week and book our DJ. Was having a nightmare finding somebody but at last we've found somebody who knows the venue listens to what we want and is a reasonable price whoop whoop we have music

I think the photo idea is really good I'd go for that keeps things exciting

    Hey everyone!

Ive had such a long boring day at work today!! It really dragged!

Natalie- thanks for the gift ideas, I love the idea about getting a mini wand made up for the flower girl teddy. My 12 year old sister is just awkward! Im thinking a little trinket keepsake box, as I just cant think what else to get!

Sharon- I was the same when I got my dress, but I put on half a stone and it was too tight!! Those cupcakes must have been amazing!

MrD sounds like my oh, he just buys things as he goes along, then it comes to his birthday or christmas and theres nothing he wants!! I like Mels idea about giving him a clue each day!! Its my ohs birthday while we are away aswell, Ill sort his presents out probably when we are back!!:rotfl:

I love dttb- but it does drive me mad!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one!!

I was just after others opinions we're not having many people to our sit down reception only about 40, but the evening there will be 120-150. I wanted to let everyone know that they are more then welcome at the church and was thinking of having a little sentence at the bottom of the invites saying - ceremony to take place here and time all welcome. Do you think this needs to be said? Or will people just ask if they want to come. I don't know if it'll look odd!

We're trying to keep the costs down hence only close friends and family to the meal.

Maybe I'm just having another wobbly moment of trying to please everyone but don't want to offend by putting it on there

    Sharon x

Well my food has been pants today!

Breakfast: Honey nut shredded wheat with the smallest amount of skimmed milk (I dont like skimmed milk!!)
Snacks: yoghurt drink, apple, clementine and plum
Lunch: salad with a little bit of ham
    Snack: penguin
Dinner: pasta bake with a bit of cheese and some sausage in it, 4 garlic dough balls
Then I just had a small slice of cake!

Grrr- why am I finding it hard to be good! It didnt help I couldnt go to the gym- my hip/ top of my leg was hurting- I dont recommend running for the train in big heels after a few drinks!!

Sharon- My friend did this, but I cant remember how they worded it. Im sure there was a line in the invites.

I think a line on the invite would be nice - I think if I received an evening only invite (or however it's phrased) I would assume the ceremony would be off limits. I'm not sure what wording you could use, but I know there have been other threads about this so perhaps a search would help?

Well my food has been good today (Thank god!) - I've been updating my earlier post with things as and when I've eaten/drank so I could keep a track. So if anyone's nosey have a look back :)
