OH and I have had a row, and he's gone off upstairs in a huff. :( Why are men so horrible sometimes?

Natalie - love the shoes and the earrings (or are they hair clips???). Perfect for your dress!! xx

:) They are hair clips - sorry should have made that clearer. I've sent a photo of the blinged up shoes to my mum - her reply? "They're the ones" :D:T it was her who put doubt in my head about whether they'd go with the dress so I am over the moon that she thinks with a bit of bling on them they will go :D I just need some more diamantes (ha I love the fact that MrD's ebay shows him buying some vajazzle bits :rotfl:). They should arrive tomorrow so I can finish them off before I go back to school.

((hugs)) wanchai - I am sure whatever you argued about you will come out the other side of it. :D We are all in real relationships after all, and some days when you're with someone as much as we are with our OHs you are bound to rub each up the wrong way. I know there are times when I don't like MrD much :rotfl: and I know the feeling is mutual. :D xx (But don't let this row ruin your amazing weight loss control so far!) xxx

(PS 5 months to go )
  • Natalie- the shoes look fab. Love the hair clips.

    Melanie- the invites look fab.

Wanchai- sending you a hug, hope you and your oh are ok now.

Well im day off today and have woken up with a horrible headache so didnt get the lay in I was hoping for!!

:j On it being 5 months.

:j I posted the invites that needed to be posted yesterday, and I gave my uncle and his wife theirs, my uncles wife (shes lovely and we get on so well) was jumping around she was so excited to get her invite, and she loved it, and even my uncle (usually picky to wind me up) said they looked really good so I was all pleased with myself! It felt really nice aswell that someone is really excited about the wedding.

Awwww what a fab reception to your invites Emma :T! :D Those I posted on Wednesday should be arriving at their destinations today/tomorrow... and MrD's mum is popping over on Sunday so I'll give her hers and the rest of MrD's half. :)

Shame you've woken with a headache!! :( and boooo to not getting a lay in!!
But yaaaaaaay that you're off work with me haaaaa - you can listen to all my posts about weddings :D :rotfl:
  • Oh and Im now having bridesmaid dress wobbles!! Ive found some I really like on the house of fraser ebay page, and they are only £36! I showed my sister and she was encouraging me to order them!! Naughty sister!! I think ill get my bridesmaids to try their dress on again and will see how I feel about them then and then make a decision (although these ones may have sold out by then, but then that would make my decision for me!!)

Im going to hand out a few more today, then will only have a couple left.

Well I had good intentions to get up, go to the gym then go to mums for 10, but the gym part isnt happening now! Ill go both days this weekend. Im going to the range today with my mum and nan so hopefully may pick up a wedding related thing or 2!!:D Oh and Im going to a big wedding fair on Sunday with my friend who is getting married May 2013 so im looking forward to that aswell!

Whats your plans for the day NAtalie?

I'm taking a friend out for a late birthday lunch. But other than that nothing :-) I'll see if there's anything weddingy I can do :-)
  • Need to rant!

I was supposed to be having a makeup trial tomorrow afternoon - the makeup lady emailed me yesterday to confirm the time and everything and I emailed me back saying thank you for confirming and that I was looking forward to it. Then....she emails me at 7am this morning to say that since emailing me yesterday she has been not well with a cough and cold! Grrrr!

I am so mad because I had my eyebrows done and a facial done yesterday in preparation - not something I would normally spend money on, I would only do this for a very special occasion. Luckily the treatments were on a half price special offer, but I have still effectively spent £40 for no reason :( Plus OH was going to take me out on Sat night as I will be all glam and now I'll just have to do my own makeup and it won't be the same.

The thing that annoys me is that she surely can't do that to someone on their wedding day so shouldn't she just have a lemsip and man up!

If it was my business and someone was basing their decision on whether to book her services (for the bride and 3 bridesmaids to the tune of £200) on this trial then I would want to do my best to make sure I impressed the customer and got that booking!

I have emailed her and explained to her that I have now wasted money on beauty treatments in preparation, but also said that I understand if she is not well so I'll see what she says in her reply. I was really looking forward to it though:(

    Rant over...:rotfl:

I think that is a very justified rant - however - she probably doesn't want to give her cold to you - especially given how she'll be touching your face. (I read that viruses are more commonly transmitted via the wet tissues like eyes). Whereas with a bride the main concern would be to make her pretty - she can be poorly in a couple of days time... but it does raise an interesting point - I wonder how many professionals back out at the last minute due to illnesses :S I would see what her reply to your email is - I'd use that as a gauge as to whether to use her on the day or not. For me communication is key - but then I'm a HUGE internet geek and spend many hours on here (ha incase noone had noticed!)

Oh and Emma - I would agree with your sister!! You should get them!! :p THEN you could try both on and see which one you prefer :D (Playing devils advocate!)
  • It's been a while since I've been on here, but invites are virtually done.. just need to get to grips with the printer at home, it's going to be something like this:
    Henry and Michelle
request the pleasure of the company of
at the celebration of their wedding on Thursday 19 July 2012 at 15:00
Ceremony and reception to take place at
The Apple Farm, Afton Park, Freshwater, Isle of Wight, PO40 9XR
Passports not needed, but please RSVP by 1 June 2012
I like the bit about the passports as it's a bit of a joke with future SIL :) She honestly thought you needed a passport to go to the Isle of Wight for a number of weeks!

Just need to decide about a gift list, as we've lived together for a while we don't really need any at the moment, apart from a welsh dresser - we rent a little barn conversion and would love a dresser for the dining room, which would then fit into our dream of building our own log cabin on FIL's farm... if and when the local planning bill comes to fruition and they let us build, but I digress.. as yet we've not decided which one we want and don't really want to ask for vouchers with the current climate.

Might just see if people ask and say that we're saving up for something like that. Oh I don't know....

I love the bit about passports :D

It is so hard isn't it - the whole gift thing. I have written this elsewhere on here - but not sure if I've told you lot. :D Our first and really only wish is that people don't give us anything. There isn't anything that we want that we can't get ourselves, and I don't want to feel like our guests are subsidising our wedding or honeymoon (or reimbursing us for them). So far I've had 2 friends ask what we'd like and I've said nothing, and I *think* they have respected that. But when MrD's mum asked us (as she'd been getting requests from her sisters) she didn't take 'nothing' as an answer. So we've come to a compromise. We want it stressed that our first wish is nothing. But if people don't accept (or respect!) that then they can offer a SMALL contribution to some dive gear. We've already bought the essentials, just got MrD's dive computer to get before the honeymoon. But there are two bits of equipment that would be nice to have but we'd planned to just hire wherever we go. But we have told her she's under strict instructions that if anyone asks to say we really don't want anything, and only if they put up a fight to offer the alternative. :D I am making it my mission to be the bride who receives the least amount of gifts ha! But we're only saying this to people who ask. If they don't ask they aren't being told anything :)
  • Hopefully by the end of the weekend I should be able to put piccies up of the invite.... if I actually get my finger out and finish them off!

Also we're starting our first session of beginners climbing, did the taster session last Saturday and I've got the bug, though haven't got the concept of bouldering yet, but top ropes I understand!
