Well tonight we're having our valentine's meal - griddled big fat juicy fillet steak served with a peppercorn cream sauce, and roast veggies... then for pudding we're having defrosted potential wedding cheesecake - very excited - I've given it a poke and it seems to have defrosted okay - but the true test will be what MrD things and whether the strawberries have come out okay. :D

Being on half term has been lovely so far - during the day I'm reading so much (finished yet another book - Confessions of a Midwife - really good mystery book, totally didn't see the twist at the end coming - but now it's so obvious. And then in the evenings we've been watching films together :)
  • oh your dinner sound so yummy natalie. hope the cheesecake is good, if it isnt youll just have to make more, that would be a shame!! not.!

my oh is a big barcelona fan so weve spent our evening watching the footy!

Hurrah - Cheesecake defrosted perfectly!! :D VERY very impressed (and MrD was too)! So that is the wedding cake sorted :D I *might* double up the quantities so the base and topping are twice as thick - but other than that very happy indeed. Another job ticked off.

Invites (to my side) are posted!! :rotfl: I know, I know, it's incredibly early - but I had to take the car into the garage so I thought while I was out I would get them posted - saves me a job later :D

Just got to drop MrD's side of invites off to his mum's on Friday (so in theory they should be received on the same day as my mum receives hers).

So if we went with double thickness cheesecakes (double the thickness of the photo I've posted previously) they would cost us £51. :) (Plus £19 for the cake stand). Am rather pleased with that!! :D (This would give us 64 individual portions - we're only have 51 guests (53 including us). :D Guess who's going to be having cheesecake the day after :rotfl: Cannot wait!!

Right - think I might go do some sewing :D

Oh and after seeing Sugarwalsh's DIY bling shoes on another thread - I'm debating whether to get some diamante strips and putting them on my shoes... so they would be like these but on my silver shoes:

Ah glad the cheesecakes turned out well Natalie! The double thickness sounds good especially as it won't cost too much extra.

I've been very good today - been swimming this morning, had apple and porridge for breakfast and a subway salad for lunch and I've still got body combat later to do!

But some IDIOT had to put this on the shelves of Asda didn't they... it's amazing!

Just about to start writing a job application out - boring :(

Ha I saw that when I was pricing up my cheesecake ingredients - it sounds disgusting if you ask me! :)

Oh I don't envy you - writing job applications is so dull!! I hate the 'personal statement' part.

Well I have tacked one of the runners to a table cloth - but it was hard work!! Not sure whether I will do the others - I *may* leave it till the tables are here and I can tack them when I can spread them out better.

Oh its really nice! Tastes just like chocolate cheesecake topping! I suppose thats exactly what it is though isn't it, when I've made choc cheesecake I basically melt choc into cream cheese!

I know so do I... hate having to try and big myself up without sounding like I properly love myself haha!

Yeah it will probably be easier to do it when you've got larger surfaces. Has the one you did turned out ok?

    xx
