Aaawwww! What a nice card! Great news about the house Mel! I hope the viewing goes well. I have ordered my Save the dates today :) I did the design myself (well, with the help of the wedding chicks website) and I was going to order card and print them myself at home - Nat suggested I get in touch with PDA Card for advice and they said that if I tried my printer and the quality wasn't good enough then they could print them for me. It was pretty reasonable to be honest so I thought I'd save myself the hassle and get them to do it. It's working out at about 80p per card including the envelope. Happy days! If they turn out well I will get them to do the invites too. They were so helpful and it's a much more personal service than say vistaprint or whatever. So thanks Nat for the suggestion! :)

Diet wise - yesterday was ok, but i skipped breakfast which is naughty. So I ended up having nothing for breakfast, a tuna sandwich and a small portion of homemade (low fat) potato salad for lunch, then for dinner I had spag bol. I had 2 mini gingerbread men with a cuppa in the evening.

Today I skipped breakfast again (oops) and had some lentil soup and a slice of bread for lunch. I've just had some sugar snap peas as a snack, but not sure about dinner yet.

    How's everyone else getting on?

Oh fab news Meanie about the house viewing.

Meanie :rotfl:that made me laugh! I am going to have a scout around Clintons again, i must have missed that one. Sounds perfect.

I deliberatly didn't post my food today as i have had a totally rubbish week. I get through the day at work all saintly with my homemade soup then i get to tea and i'm a hungry and i pig out. Had cheese and crackers last night and today i have all my syns on a square of cake. First slice since the new year though and it was sooo good. Still going to jump on the scales in the morning though and i'll just take the gain and move on.

Ooh Rachel - well done on the STD cards. Always makes a difference when a company has a good customer service. Makes you want to give them the business and you are more likely to recommend and return. You'll have to share your design when you get them.

Thanks Mel! I can show you now :) The colour scheme is to match the BM dresses. This is the design and we are just having it printed on A6 cards:

We're just a bunch of overly impatient gossipy brides :rotfl:. But it's nice that non-Juliers feel they can come and join us too! :D

    Meanie
:rotfl: That did make me chuckle!!

Well so far I've had 2 saintly days (good food, and exercised), and 1 good days this week ('just' good food). Until today :) For lunch we took our colleagues out for lunch - I had: 1 smallish baguette filled with prawns in cocktail sauce - actually was a bit disappointing because there wasn't that many prawns. I was a good girl though and I ate the small side salad even if it has given me onion breath for the rest of the day!! Now I just have to make sure I'm an angel for our tea tonight (tell ya - being naughty and having white bread really does affect my energy levels - I am going through such a dip now where I could eat pretty much anything!) Just got to keep thinking about the numbers on the scale going down, and the wedding dress fitting perfectly!! RAAAAAAAAR!! 5 months 1 week.

PS I've managed to resist sending our invites today - only got to wait 5 days to wait!
  • :rotfl: sorry Melanie!! That has made me laugh aswell!

Oh and I looked again at my card and it does say I love you , its not I 'heart' you as I thought. Im sure if you asked for a husband to be card they will know which one it is. Check out the fiance section, husband section, man I love etc.

Who wants to join me on this diet:

    Hi everyone :)

Well I have been very good this week but have just weighed myself and I haven't lost anything. :( I'm hoping (wishful thinking possibly) that that is because I am starting to develop some muscle because my clothes do feel looser, and I have been going to the gym/zumba/combat/swimming 4-5 times a week. I still wish I could see the scales moving though - I'm still fat enough that I want to be losing weight, not just getting fitter!

Is it really bad of me to be desperately craving something chocolatey... someone tell me I don't need it or want it! (I may not believe you though!)

OMG just looked at that diet lol that is so NOT what I need to see at the moment haha!

I like your invitations Lovecake :) The font is really smart and I like the colour scheme.

Emma, I definitely think you are within your rights to not bother replying. Or just reply and say that unfortunately due to lack of response you felt that you had to take your business elsewhere.

Mel, I can see you must have had some good news about the house move but for some reason I can't find the post where you've discussed it, glad things seem to be going ok.

Natalie, if you are struggling for tables can you nick a couple from school for the weekend? We've done that a couple of times from our school for parties!

I've done nothing weddingy but we do need to sit down this week and sort out the final guest list. I am slobbing out tonight with a vodka and lemonade - that way the alcohol will stop me from driving out for a mcflurry lol!

    xx

  • :rotfl:Mel- I like your technique at not getting a mcflurry!

I know it isnt a nice feeling when the scales dont go down but it sounds like your definately loosing inches (which people would notice more imo) so dont be hard on yourself.

    My food today is:
Breakfast: golden syrup porridge with skimmed (yuk) milk
    Snack: banana
Lunch: a boots shapers chicken tikka flatbread (so tasty and only 251 cals:D) and shapers salted popcorn
Dinner: half a pizza (which was only 380 cals) and 2 very small garlic mushrooms.

I have said to my oh we must sit down on Sunday and do our evening guest list. Im going to start giving out the day invites as and when I see people and will post an not local ones tomorrow, and will then do a little trip middle of next week with any remaining day invites and the evening invites.

Well it didn't work Emma - I baked some cakes instead :rotfl: They were only plain sponge and apricot cupcakes though - about 120 cals per cake so not hugely naughty!

    Your flatbread sounds nice.

Quick question about invites - the background: I don't want any children there at all - I'm not a child person and it would ruin it for me to have kids running around, not to mention that weddings must be sooo boring for little kids. I don't have many friends with kids but the ones that do have babies or under 5's - the worst sort lol!

I have some friends who I will be inviting (husband and wife) and they have two children. I am inviting the friends to the evening do but NOT the children; the invitation will be addressed to them (Mr and Mrs...). I may be worrying about nothing but do you think they would realise it's just for them? Or do people tend to assume that kids are invited? If so how would I make it clear that they are not? I'm not sure on the etiquette on these things! I don't want to put a generic message on the invites if I don't have to!

I know this makes me sound weird - sorry!
