:) At least you have a few spares and can get them handwritten... and that you spotted them now before you sent them off.
How are you doing? Are you all ready for 4 weeks time?

Well I've managed to lose 2.5lbs this week. Please note this will not be all fat - most of that will be water retention after eating like a pig for the fortnight prior to starting again. Well I slept most of last night after work, my head is feeling a bit more normal this morning but my throat is still hurting.

Hi everyone. Well done on the 2.5lb Nat! I managed to lose another 1lb before the dreaded dress fitting so that's 6lbs since going back to work on the 4th of Jan. Not too bad I guess, but need to start doing a bit more exercise to speed it up a bit.

The dress fitting went ok, but the dressmaker seemed a bit off , just not her usual self - a bit abrupt would be the word. Everyone can have an off day so I'll let it slide, but if she's like that on the next fitting I'll have to have a word because she should be making me feel special and excited I think. She was great on the first 2 appointments so hopefully she'll be back to normal next time.

Nothing else weddingy to report. Need to get my finger out with the save the dates - I said I would send them 6 months in advance and I've missed that deadline so I better get going! Next on the list is to start looking for shoes for me(silver I think), get the BM's to keep an eye out for shoes that would match their dresses and order the BM's petticoats...

I also need to start looking into jewellery for the BM's gifts - if anyone has any tips of good sites for jewellery sets let me know! :)

Also is anyone else ordering confetti? Was thinking about ordering off ebay, but I'm not sure what the quality will be like - any ideas?
  • Well done on the weight loss Natalie. Whatever youve lost, whether it be water retention or fat is still great as its still a loss. Hope your feeling better soon, I was off yesterday and am back at work today but I do feel rubbish and have no idea how Im going to get through the next 3 and half hours as I have no energy and cant stop sneezing!!

Lovecake- thats not so good about your dressmaker, I would see what she is like next time, hopefully she was just having an off day and will be back to normal next time. Sounds like your doing really well with the weight loss aswell.

    Afternoon all!!!!!!

Evening everyone, well I am feeling rather smug... I'm poorly, sore throat, bit spaced out, came home and went to bed for a nap. Anyway usually this would defeat any diet plans and we'd get something very naughty like a pizza. But nope - not tonight! :) tonight we are having the planned tea of spag mince with veggies. I WILL lose weight! Raaaaaaar!

Wanchai - I absolutely agree with Emma, any replacement meal system is really not the way to go. Eat sensible meals and you WILL lose weight. There is still 5 months to go till our weddings. 23 weeks tomorrow till mine - that is over 1st 7lbs of sensible weight loss. Do you think it'd help if we started writing our food diaries on here? It's weigh in day tomorrow. How has your week been? (I've managed 6 green days, i.e. nothing off plan, and 1 red day.)

I know, I know :o But I am trying to give myself a kickstart just for a couple of weeks. I'll be having one 'proper' meal in the evening so hopefully it'll be ok. I had a shake for breakfast - it tasted ok and I haven't felt hungry yet, so I am well chuffed! I'll have another for lunch and then that should see me through until dinner.

Food diaries sound like a great idea! It'd make us accountable to each other and we might think twice about eating crap.

WELL done on the 2.5lbs btw - that's amazing!!! Even if it is partly fluid, who cares! You should be :j:j:j And congrats on your food restraint last night!

I had my WI today - 1lb off, I am now 10st6lbs. I'm pleased that something's come off. :) Hopefully this is the start of the downward trend! :D

The maddening thing is Emma he hasn't even put it on the market yet!! We text him last Sunday and asked when it was going on the market and when would the photographer be round but he has never replied. He is ignoring us. We have checked our contract and he can not give us notice before the end of it so we can be here until April. But as we all know time just flies!!!!

I feel your pain. Shakes can sometimes 'shake' things up on the short term, perhaps just a week or 2 to get rid of bloating and to kickstart some loss. I am soooo impatient and i want instant results. Had a good day today though and i'm trying to focus on slow and steady wins the race.

That's exactly it. I am finding it hard to see the 'big' weight loss picture. I just want results fast. If I have two weeks of losses, that will spur me on to keep going. And my stomach will have shrunk, so I'll be satisfied with less food. :)
Oh, that's awful about your LL, what is he playing at??? Sending you massive hugs xxxx

lovecake - yes, I'm ordering confetti, but not sure where yet. Need to check if the church allows it :D Hope your DM is back to her usual self next time - maybe she just had something on her mind, don't worry just yet. :) Good luck finding shoes etc - I need to get organised with accessories too lol. Oh and well done on the weight loss so far!!! :T Re jewellery - try Amazon or Groupon for really good deals. Have you got any Tesco vouchers that you could exchange for Goldsmiths vouchers and get them something from there? xx

Tracey, 2st4lbs isn't much, and most of that will be baby+amniotic fluid, so don't worry :A

Lovecake how many fittings have you had? Are you having a bespoke made? I feel a bit depressed as my shop said mine would be in mid Jan, then got told mid Jan it would be in late Jan early Feb so got my Mum to ring yest (Lol, just ask Mummy!) Mum said the shop owner said now that I dont need to go in until March (I'm April Bride, hon July lol) 24th they made it but I feel that's really late? Esp when I havent had contact with my dress (I bet it's really lonely!) since Aug last year?
    Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 2014
  • A few poorly bunnies on here. :( My work colleague is full of cold and i'm trying to stay away and keep the window on vent to rid the germs!! I don't want to be full of cold for Half Term.

Only 3 more get ups and then I am planning a week of wedding stuff. :T Going to make all my invites, day and evening so i will have to spread that over a few days as there is a lot to do. I am going to the venue for Valentines Day (4 course dinner to celebrate a years engagement) and we'll pay our next instalment. Then i need to look at getting the tissue paper for the poms poms i want to hang from the beams. I am not going to make those til last minute though because they won't travel well when we move house.

Next on my shopping list is a clip for my hair. My hairdresser says a slide won't do it so i need to source a clip about 2 inches across. Any excuse for a shop!! :rotfl:

I am going for a mini manicure tonight at a local salon to see if i like it and how long their varnish lasts etc, so i can use them for the wedding day as its nice and local. I really fancy having shelac done so i might book for a trial of that too to see if it'll last over the honeymoon as well. I need to find something to last 15 days!

Thanks Wanchai - I hadn't thought of Groupon or Amazon. I will have a nosy tonight. Don't have any Tesco vouchers as we don't usually shop there...I will have to see if any family have some that I can steal... :rotfl:I will let you know if I find any nice confetti :)

Yeah, I'm having it made. I had two appointments about the design and fabric etc. and this was my first fitting where she just did lots of pinning and measuring.

I know how you feel jem - she told me that I won't have another fitting til May and even then it will just be the basic construction of the dress with a toile of the lace part as she wants to get it right before she cuts the lace because of the cost. So that means that I will get a rough idea of how the dress will look in May, but I won't see the finished dress till probably June sometime. Seems to be cutting it fine to me! Stress! I need to decide on accessories and if I want a veil etc. and I can't really do that without seeing the finished (or almost finished) dress.

Food diaries are a good idea!

    So today I have had...
    2 crumpets with Jam,
a small portion of low cal minestrone soup and 1 slice of some kind of oatie bread (can't remember what it's called,
a handful of sugar snap peas and 3 marshmallows
2 cups of tea with skimmed milk, 1 green tea and 1 carton of orange.

I am planning on a small portion of home made spag bol for dinner (made with very lean mince from the butchers) and some salad.

I will let you know how tea goes and if I have any snacks tonight, but I'm not usually an evening snacker.

We can do it! Healthy eating til July! :rotfl:

You don't have to supply it, but I think you can't really rely on people to bring confetti these days - the last few weddings I went to hardly anyone had brought confetti. I really want a picture of us being showered with loads of confetti so I am going to buy in bulk from ebay (it's really cheap) and make my own confetti cones and then we will have our flower girl hand them out to the guests. That way it means I will get the pics I want and it will be a nice wee touch to have the flower girl handing them out :)

Jemb - your fitting will be a month before your wedding, that sounds like plenty of time. But why won't they let you have one sooner? x

FutureCooper - I had a gel manicure when I got my engagement ring :D and it lasted for 2 months!!! :D BTW, we're only supplying confetti as we don't want to rely on guests bringing it in case they don't bother - and it makes for AMAZING photos! (I'm all about the photos too lol) Im going to make pretty mismatched paper cones for it and place them in a basket inside the door of the church. I'll get one of my friends to hand it out to everyone.

lovecake - I am impressed at your food diary, good girl!! :D

As for my food diary, today I've had two protein shakes! I actually don't feel hungry at all, which is shocking - I'm SUCH a grazer at work. This is a habit that I badly need to break. Tonight's dinner will be OH's lasagne with a few oven baked potato wedges. Not the healthiest but I'll enjoy it after my boring shakes! :)
