Hi all
How are you doing this wet Wednesday afternoon?
I am getting so stressed and I am trying hard not to, can't see past my massive to-do list and just enjoy myself:o:o:o
Somebody please give me a kick up the bum/stern talking-to.

I've had a massive wedding spending spree last weekend, but have managed to sort out the flowers and favours! Sorting out the suits with the OH next weekend so I can sort out our personalised cake toppers, only taken 4 months to persuade him to go!
Aw, thanks, but I'm based in NI - the south coast of England seems to be THE place to go for camper vans!
Wow, what a great weekend's work, you should be proud!!:D

Havent found anything like the one youve linked but im sure there must be a close alternative around.
Wanchai- thats difficult about the videographer, how important is it too you? The same for the music? As for the car Im no help as im no where near you.
Well done on spending spree, sounds like youve been able to tick lots of things off.
They're all important lol! But I want to stick to the budgetOK, I guess the car is the least important thing out of those 3, I could compromise on that and maybe use OH's (it's a nice car but not vintage
).
wxy - wow, you have done soooo well!!! :TLet's see pics of it all! And loving the Downton love!7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

I have been trying to find various suppliers (as I am sure we all are) and have now got the ones I think I will go with for the major stuff, do these prices sound alright to you?
Venue £600 for ceremony and reception (ceremony room converts back to a lounge while we are outside having pics done) with 2/3 staff to serve at the bar
Registrar £375 (is it wrong to begrudge having to pay this much for 15mins)
Hog roast £350 inc the pig, stuffing, apple sauce and 120 rolls (I'll make my own salads..we have 60 guests but i figured there should be leftovers)
Dj - £170 a local guy who helped me out with fundraising last year
Photographer - now, I was quoted £200 by a photography student who wants to build a rep. Problem is I have now seen photos she has done of other weddings and to be frank, they are not good!!! I have however seen someone else who charges £250 and has a good selection of past work to look at..
Car £80.. My brothers friend has just got a brand new Jaguar.. asked him if I can pimp it with ribbons and give him £80 and an invite to the evening and he seems up for it
Wine for the tables - I feel like I should pay for a bottle of each colour on each table.. looking at around £200 for this..would you do it or not?
Yes,we're providing 80 bottles for 100 guests!
As for the tog, I would say go with the one you're happy with, and it's only an extra £50 - no brainer imho xxx7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Wanchai - I love Downton Abbey too... it's just really good, isn't it?
Mitchmotch - well done on the spending spree... do you mind me asking roughly how much the flowers cost? I'm still trying to decide whether to have a florist or to make the bouquets etc...
I'm afraid I'm one of the gals going with artificial flowers as I can't justify spending so much money on flowers for one day (even to the point that I'm going to get our vicar to talk to the other couple on the same day as us to share church flower costs!). I've found someone on ebay who can do 9 bouquets for £120 which I think is very good. I'm doing the button holes myself, which are costing about £20 for 11.
Nothing weddingy to report today, I wan't something to do!0 -
Firstly Melanie - lol I keep getting so tempted to call you Mel - but then I'd get confused with Melissa!!

From Emma's post number 1651This is from July when we were discussing different sorts of wedding cakes we could have.

In my opinion a photography student who is building a portfolio should be working for free!! Certainly not for £200! We're paying £200 for 2 (to 3, but we won't need him for that long) hrs of a professional photographer to cover our ceremony. http://www.furlongphotography.com/0 -
Mrs Drink, I think I would be inclined to agree that really she shouldn't be expecting quite so much money given her lack of experience. Your guy looks REALLY good!
Mitchmotch, I am having artificial flowers too! Going for foam rather than silk etc..
this is how it looks so far.. http://pinterest.com/pin/17732992252549437/
This is what I am aiming for.. http://pinterest.com/pin/17732992252475998/0 -

well to give you a rough guide the flowers will cost £20 for 30 flowers, then I need the brooches (so far coming in at 25p each from car boots) and the wire and ribbon and tape to put it altogether which won't be much at all0 -
You lot are so chatty
I've been so busy blogging I haven't been on here in days and have missed loads lol.
Wow, those artificial flowers look brilliant!
To those who are thinking of having a student photographer, think VERY carefully about how important your photos are to you: http://www.rocknrollbride.com/2012/01/should-i-book-a-professional-wedding-photographer-or-get-a-friend-to-do-it-for-free-a-cautionary-tale/0 -
MrsDrink - re your hair slide hunt - what about this? http://www.be-boutique.co.uk/shopping/vintage-style-hair-slide/
(I'm always on the hunt for gorgeous-but-cheap wedding accessories to recommend!)0 -
It's got the right sort of crystals - but it's a bit too 'full' for what I'm after if that makes sense? Would it help if you saw my dress? I can PM you the details lol.
As for the photos - I agree - definitely think about how much your photos mean to you - if you want them to be framed and put on your mantel piece or if they are just things you want to jog those memories.I personally don't really 'do' photos - but after making so much savings everywhere else (and my mum buying my dress) we agreed we should get a photographer - not for us but so we could give MrD's mum a proper photo of the two of us.
As for the photo of the shoes in that link you posted - that is just ghastly. That's why I've been taking photos of things like shoes as I've been going along - lol I can't tell you how many shots I took to get these two:
(My MissKG shoes incase anyone's forgotten them lol)0
