Why not type in wedding table decorations into google images. That'll give you some ideas to start on. Then let us know and we'll help you get the MSE version! I am making paper pom pom balls, mounted on a ribbon covered cane and standing in a tin can with lace on it. Then jam jars of flower heads.

    What were your chosen colours??
(Also are you the same Biscuitmad from SW forum?) I am always lurking on there- lovely thread x
  • Biscuitmad- what are your colours? do you have any kind of theme or a particular feel to the day you want to achieve? what is your venue like? will you have round tables?

Im having 3 pink artifical roses (at different heights) and some diamantes wrapped in ribbon in a tall clear lilly vase with tall green grass, on a mirror plate with scatter crystals. Quite simple but I think they look really effective.

That sounds great but maybe a bit to clever for me!!!

I did google but then decided that i kind of liked a bit of everything and not really sure what would go with our venue as we are getting married at a preserved train station.

    What were your chosen colours??

My bridesmaids (my adult sister and my will be 2 yr old by then) are in Hot pink.

Round tables, although we are not having a sit down formal meal, we are having fish and chips from an old fashion style fish and chip van.

That sounds really pretty, and would probably work really well - thanks

thanks so much for all the replys, you girls are great.
  • It also works really well with gerberas and calla lillies. I was insisting on gerberas but then saw the roses Im having and loved them so that was that decided. If I ever get round to sorting out photos I will share them with you!

    Hi everyone :)

Well I have some good news - my 2nd official weigh in was on Saturday morning and I had lost another 3lb, taking me over half a stone in two weeks! I'm really chuffed with that because my target was 1/2 stone in January! SO I am two weeks ahead of my target! I've just got back from swimming today and am going to the gym tomorrow, with Body Combat lined up for Wednesday and Zumba for Thursday. I have set myself a new target to get rid of another 4lb minimum by the end of January.

Biscuitmad, how about old fashioned lanterns with candles in? That would suit the railway theme? This kind of thing?

Glad you've found someone to do your dress Emma! And well done on eating well, I use an app too, the myfitnesspal one I find it ever so useful! I currently have 249 calories remaining for today but not hungry at the moment so might use it for a slice of toast before bed!

I would check out Debenhams for shoes too Wanchai, they have some nice ones and all three pairs I tried on were really comfortable too. They seem to be padded underfoot, if you see what I mean.

Hope you are all ok anyway :)

I don't think they would be particularly dangerous, I would think most kids know not to touch candles don't they? I have no experience of little kids though so I don't know if it's the sort of thing they could get hurt on!

The cost is probably a bit dear though, I didn't think of that - depends how many tables you've got but I've done a (very quick) google and found these at £3.95 each, not sure about postage though. Might work out a bit dear when you add on the cost of tealight and if you want flowers and stuff round them.

I dunno though I'm having bonsai trees on my tables because it won't cost me anything lol!
