It will be nice having a 'spare ring' so like when my engagement ring has to be rhodium plated (or whatever you call it) I can wear my eternity ring instead- so I dont feel so lost!
Thats just reminded me actually, I need to think about when to get my ring done, as I want it looking its best for the wedding. (its yellow gold but the stone is set in white gold and it definately needs redoing). I know it wont be photographed as it wont be on my wedding ring finger but I still want it so it looks its best. I think Ill probably get it done a few weeks before the wedding.0 -
Watching this though - I so want to send out our invites!! 3 weeks and I will0
-
I was contemplating it today as well Emma, do you have any idea how much it costs?0
-
Well I only need a small bit done and I was quoted I think about £30, but that was in an independent jewellers who do it on site and I would have it back in 2 days, apparently ernest Jones do it for about £30, but im a bit scared about them sending it away! I have a friend who has a yellow ring that she has rhodium plated and in one shop she was quoted £45 so I think it just depends where you go. Maybe its worth asking around next week when your shopping for MrDs ring.0

Yea that's a good idea - I plan on dragging him to the jewellers who he commissioned my ring with (they sent it off to a guy in Brum) - trust them with it so may ask them how much it'd be. Although it would be very odd not having it on my finger - lol I don't have a spare ring so I can totally understand keeping your eternity ring for that purpose!
Just finished watching that episode - I cannot wait to be married!!*Stamps her feet and demands the next 5 and a bit months to go quick*

MrsDrink, I've never seen Don't Tell the Bride before, but I watched three episodes on iplayer yesterday doing the ironing, and I saw that episode too!
MrsD, PinkPrincess and FutureCooper - I'm impressed with your exercising - I've done a grand total of zilch this week. My exercise class I went to on Tuesday was full 20 minutes before the class started and I arrived 15 mins before, so I had to turn round and drive home again. I'll blame it on pesky New Year's resolution makers, and council cut backs on exercise classes. Sadly I don't think getting dressed and turning up in the cold counts as exercise!
Thanks for the chair cover suggestion FutureCooper, but I'd like someone to set up the covers too, rather than by post. Hope your achilles is soon better. PinkPrincess, I'm guessing your chair cover supplier doesn't cover the Cotswolds?
Lauralou - We ordered both wedding rings last Saturday and they were made by Tuesday. They were plain though, so maybe more complicated ones take longer.
We booked our photographers today! I feel like that's a big task done now) They did quote more than we could afford, but we've compromised slightly on the duration and negotiated 22% off the quote, which we can just about manage, having saved on the rings. I'm really confident they'll do a great job and make the process enjoyable. Yay!

Hey baby boots- Im afraid Im in the south and so are my chair cover people. Im sure there must be offers to be had, how much have you been quoted so far?
Thats rubbish about the exercise class- can you not ring and book in in advance? Im quite busy this week so think ill fit in a gym workout tues and weds and will then have to go both days at the weekend.
:j at booking the photographer.0 -
Oh good Lord, I have read through all the posts and am staggered by all the exercising that's going on :rotfl: I have been VERY bad this weekend, am going to have to pull my finger out and get serious about losing weight.
I brought my Coast Marlena shoes to the shop yesterday - they're too dark for my dress *cries*
I'm now thinking of these, but they are a little on the high side: http://www.crystalbridalaccessories.co.uk/products/wedding-shoes/pink-paradox/pink-paradox-tease.htm
I need ivory platform shoes with a 10cm heel - any ideas? xx
On the plus side, the pearls from my mum matched the dress PERFECTLY, yippee!!!!!!!!! :Tjellybean08 wrote: »Thank you. I had a look on very and isme but they didn't have any in the right pink. I thought dusky rose/pink would be fairly popular but seems not. Will def try some local dressmakers thanks. The girls have tried on some and has to be full length but other than that they're not too fussed.
I'm having this BM dress in suede rose, it's absolutely gorgeous, the pic doesn't do it justice. Would this suit?

FutureCooper wrote: »Hi Babyboots - i can recommend a chair cover and sash company. They are based in Lincs but they have a courier postal service. They post, you set up! 75p per chair. I'm happy to PM you their facebook details. Fingers crossed for the photographer!
Hi Futurecooper - could you pm me the details please?
We went to the venue today to talk to the wedding co-ordinator as we had lots of questions to ask, so now we have all the answers, its time to book everything, we are quite behind so now its go go go!
well done on all the running, i think i would need an oxygen tank if i were to run as much as you girls, but i have walked for 21hours this week leafleting whilst also pushing my little girl in her buggy0 -
Wanchai- I love those shoes youve linked, they are lovely. :j at your mums jewellery matching perfectly.
I cant wear my eternity ring because it cant got with my engagement ring because my engagement ring is 18k whereas my eternity ring is 9k and plus I dont like the way it sits with it anyway. And im going to be wearing my engagement ring on my right hand with my wedding ring on its own on my left hand- because 1)I found my ring and loved it and 2) to get a ring shaped to fit my engagement ring was too expensive.
Biscuitmad- all that walking is fab exercise.0
