    Hi everyone!

I haven't been on in a few days and we have loads of new brides! :jWelcome all!

My, my, everyone has been busy since Xmas! I haven't got much to report. Had a minor BM dress crisis - one of the BM's got my mum to tell me that she 'wasn't sure' about the colour of her dress. I called her and she said that she would wear whatever I wanted her to wear, but I could tell that she didn;t want to wear it and I want everyone to feel good on the day.

Was a bit p'd off at first as I bought it months ago and so now I'm unable to take it back.Grrrr! I just wished she's told me straight away instead of worrying about upsetting me. Anyway, the one that she liked better was on sale so I've bought that and will just have to ebay the original one. I was a bit annoyed at first and my poor mum was panicking about telling me and thought I'd be upset or have some sort of bridezilla moment- but I was just like 'whatever' it's not worth stressing about and getting upset about and in truth the new dress does look better. Just hope I can sell the other one at a decent price.

Other than that - I've emailed the band about choosing songs, emailed the make-up lady and hairdresser about booking a trial and phoned about booking the cars (they are calling me back) - I've chosen the cars I want so I'll just have to hope that they are available on our date.

Ooh also, I bought my undies in the BHS sale, a gossard long line strapless bra and shorts (I don't do thongs! :rotfl:). They were a bargain! Hopefully they will look ok under the dress - it should be fine as it is full lace so I shouldn't have to worry about anything showing through.

Congrats to everyone on the new baby/running/gym/weight-loss/shoes/dresses/bargains etc! :rotfl:It would take me half an hour to go through and congratulate you individually, but you know who you are ;)

How long will he DJ for? Seems a bit expensive to me - especially if it is just for a few hrs, but I'm not sure as we are having a band.

Well done for not going Bridezilla . . . you had every right. I like your attitude of 'whatever'. There is plenty of time to put it right and at least she didn't sulk about it. Have you got any dress agencies near you? You may get money than through ebay as a lot of BM dresses can be used for proms etc and the prom season starts in a few months.

One good thing to come of it Rachel - you now 'own' your BM as you have had to change her dress she should be bowing at your feet!! :rotfl:

We were quoted £350.00 through the venue for a resident DJ. Can't help other than that as we have a band. 5 blokes at £500.00 but we are only paying £400 as 1 of the band members is a good friend and he's doing it as part of his gift to us.

I would suggest emailing/calling a few others just for quotes. You don't even have to like their style or anything just will give you an idea of average costs.

Haha! :rotfl:True story! I never thought of it like that!

It's odd how people think that they have to walk on eggshells with me - I've never been a 'stressy' kind of person. I'm just like chill people - if we need to change something, ho hum! I am super organised, but not to the point that I won't change any plans to accommodate other ideas you know?

    Anyway....

biscuit - they are DJing for your whole night so that's pretty good, but I still think that £500 is a bit on the expensive side. We are paying £900 for our band for the same amount of time and there are 4 of them so when you think about it like that £500 does seem a lot to hire 1 person. On the other hand if they have had great reviews and you feel like they will do a great job then maybe you would want to go for them? Sometimes I think it is worth paying a bit extra if you are really confident that you won't find anybody better...

Sorry, that was a bit of a ramble...:rotfl:Hope you understand what I was getting at! :)

P.S Just booked our cars! :)

    Hello everyone!

I've found a videographer for £250 and a vintage Rolls Silver Shadow for £195 (possibly petrol on top)! Such bargains!!!!!!!! I really hope the videographer is good, he's going to email me a sample of his work.

Here's the Rolls, the one I've seen is ivory/white:

biscuitmad - £500 does seem very expensive. Our 6-piece band is only £700! We're not going to bother with a DJ afterwards, we'll just make an iPod playlist and play it through the speakers at the venue. :D

Rachel - OMG, how rude of your BM!!!!! I would be hopping mad if my BM did that to me, thankfully she has assured me that she's 100% happy with her dress (fingers crossed!). It is STUNNING on her, so I can't imagine her going off it. What cars have you chosen? I haven't shopped for undies yet, but will probably only need pants as my dress is so structured on top. Very MSE! :D :money:

Tracey, I meant to say - you're right to postpone the honeymoon abroad, and Bath looks absolutely gorgeous. :j
