Wanchai - I'm seriously laid back about it all so there was no drama...It was good of her to say that she would wear whatever I wanted, but I could hear the doubt in her voice so I'm happy that she will feel more confident in the new dress. :) Love the Rolls! What a bargain! :)

We have gone for classic cabs - very MSE, very fun and loads of room to get in and out (I sat in some of the more traditional cars and felt cramped in the likes of the Beaufords etc.)

Melanie - I love that bus! Fab idea! :) Everyone is storming ahead with the planning this month!
  • Hi all..quite a regular lurker on this site but decided to look and hopefully participate within this forum. Myself and the future Mrs Churching will be getting married on the 6th July..Abit worried as this seems to be the 1st on the list and all we have done is booked the wedding.(not read back that far yet to see what needs to be done).

We are getting married on a beach in Cuba so alot is gonna be took out of our hands (that was the plan anyway). What we are possibly looking for help/advise on is time frames of when things should be be done invites etc for do when we get back and the best prices for the items required. Although dont want to sound cheap, I have a hunger for bargins :)

Well hopefully I can forward your info onto the future missus and make it look like I'm doing my bit as well :)

Welcome prescott! Good to have a groom on the thread!

I would get invites or save the dates out soon for those who have to travel. I am sending some save the dates at the end of this month to my family down south (I'm in Scotland) - even thought there is 6 months to go, they will need plenty of time to book a hotel room and arrange trains/flights so I thought the more notice we can give them the more chance they have of getting a good deal.

For those that don't need to travel I would say maybe send them 2 months in advance. That would be my advice on the invites. Just shout if there is anything else you need help with - we are all very chatty on here as you can see!

Here is a pic of the bridal taxis:

    Lovely bridal taxis.

I am sending my invites out end of this month, but I just couldn't wait to send them out. Also my venue needed final numbers by April so this gives people time to get back to us
  • Our dj is costing us £250. He was actually one of the more expensive ones (other quotes were about £180), but at wedding fairs they seem to be about £300, so I guess it depends where in the country you are (im in the south and it can be expensive down here), and what you are getting for your money. Ours will be djing from about 7 till the end, and we went for him because I feel confident he knows about music and will be able to play the type of music we want and know about what he is playing (we want 80s electro, a bit of Indie etc) so I didnt want someone who just played the 'known' songs in these catergories (if that makes sense).

Oh I like those cabs Rachel. Im having a silver Merc, so nothing too flash, but something a bit more special than my usual ford focus!!:D. Havent decided about bridesmaids yet but I reckon ill go with my sisters car (driven by her boyfriend).

Welcome Prescott. Im so jealous your getting married in Cuba, I really want to go there. How are the plans going?

Rachel- you did so well to remain calm, a bridezilla moment would have been fully justifed. Maybe she found it hard to tell you because she felt bad but knew that as your so calm and nice that you wouldnt show if you were upset/ annoyed.

Snap, we are sending our out at the end of this month and will be asking for rsvps by 30th April so we can let our caterers know start of May how many we will feeding.

Rachel, those taxis are so cute!!!! :D

Prescott- we're sending our invitations just before Easter, that's if we ever get them done! :rotfl:

Well, the £250 videographer is not *that* amazing, I've seen one for £400 who is FAB, so prob worth splashing out the extra £150??? Argh. Weddings are so damn expensive!!!
