July 2012 Brides and Grooms

Looks like everyone has been busy recently, I've not done a lot wedding wise and the invites have taken a back seat until the Christmas hols. I finish on Thursday lunchtime, and am contemplating wondering down to Oxford Street to soak up the atmosphere, as well as watch everyone last minute shop... then don't go back until 3 January, hoping it won't be too quiet, should have had some marks in to enter by that point.
Maybe if it really is that quiet I should take in my invites to make at my desk.... don't think the big boss will like it though
Just need to decide which baby flower girl dress to get from Monsoon - I really like three of them.. but can't decide.... choosing my dress was so much easier!
Best get on with emailing the PG applicants to ask them for more information, which they forgot to include.
Oooh, show us links to the 3 dresses! It was more than double my budget!!
I had only budgeted £300 (wanted a Grecian Style dress) but this was was £700 from a Bridal Outlet  (I think it was supposed to be £1200/£1300 new), so I had to buy the one i tried on (luckily it fit perfectly - it was meant to be!!) and take it that day.
I rang my OH and told him i'd found THE dress, but I couldn't buy it because of the price - and he told me to just buy it - we'd manage somehow - and we did...
So I bought it, and absolutely don't regret it.
I loved the dress - felt magnificent in it, and the more people complimented me and my dress, the more magnificent I felt!!
I still look at it, and the photo's, and grin like a fool!
My dress was worth every penny because i knew it was the one.
I would have been happy with a cheaper dress, but I wouldn't have been magnificent (if you know what I mean?)
I hope this makes sense (it does in my head!) and doesn't make me sound like some vain, big headed "look at me" type, because i'm really not.
I'm usually quite a shy person, with very poor body image and HATE having my photo taken, and HATE looking at photo's of me - but somehow, in that dress (and with an excellent make-up artist!) I really WAS the most beautiful woman in the room, and in the photo's.
I'm also keeping my dress (another £100 to clean and box it!) but we are planning to have anniversary photo's taken each year (providing it still fits of course!)
Hope this helps!
xx
Thanks for that, you've reassured me a bitThat's the main point, isn't it - to feel amazing in your dress. You looked gorgeous in yours, and so happy as well! So it was definitely worth the money
Right then - I am going to speak to the DM about my concerns and then decide - DM or shop. But I *am* having this dress and not looking at any others from now on - promise! :rotfl:7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Havn't done anymore weddding plans - too busy bouncing on my birth ball:rotfl: Picking up my sisters wedding dress on Wednesday and then maybe seeing her MIL 2b about my wedding invites.

Remember if you feel a million dollars, you won't care about anything else on your wedding day!
Our cake topper figures broke on the way over - so nobody saw them - and we ended up wit a naff diamante heart on top (it was all she had). the weather was rubbish, so we only got 2 pics outside the church before the rain came, and a few outside the hotel - it was SO cold, but whilst i'm a little sad about it - i don't really care because i felt so fab on the day!
Get the dress that makes your heart flutter - you're worth the difference between happy & amazing xxxxxThe newest Mrs Lindley...... I married my Welsh Soulmate on 11-11-11 xxx0 -
LaraLou - best wishes for the impending arrival!!!
I hope that you manage to get Christmas over with before he/she arrives!!
but really bad MSE planning with the timing! lol
in a few years - your christmasses are about to get 3 times as expensive!

Awwww - good for you just getting on with it - those little things aren't important in the grand scheme of things, but I bet a lot of people go nuts when they happen! :rotfl:7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Deposit for chair covers have been paid! And its a mum and daughter company and they were so friendly and nice. Tracey- I am the only wedding booked in on the 28th, so they would be able to do yours aswell, they did say they would have to charge for petrol as it would be trips but ill inbox you. (I will message you on facebook aswell incase you dont spot this anytime soon).
LauraL- not long at all to go.
Michelle- good luck in picking your flowergirl dress.
Wanchai- well what can I say!!:rotfl:. If its only price thats putting you off, but you could stretch I reckon go for it! I personally couldnt spend that on a dress, but mainly because I actually wouldnt have the money, but if nothing else if going to compare then go for it!!0 -

Where as I could. Not because I have the money - I don't - but if it was THE one then I would make things stretch and other things would have to be compromised on. (And really at £825 my dress isn't all that far off lol).
