July 2012 Brides and Grooms

Well I've done all the housework I'd got planned for this weekend. I've done all the downstairs windows, the large window on the stair case, and our bedroom window
Having a sit down before I put an exercise DVD (and actually do it lol).
Where has the day gone!!0 -
oh confessed today that while at his mums today he was showing his uncle where the spare room was, and ran straight out the room when he saw something ivory was hanging up- he promised he didnt see it properly (but thought he better tell me)- I did then make him feel better when I pointed out my dress was well hidden inside an ivory silk duvet cover!! Phew!!
Mrs D- youve been very busy today!
I went and sat in the steam room at the gym today (anything to get out a workout) and I think its actually helped with my head cold! Not got a fuzzy head or eachache at the moment!
:j on it being 7 months today Natalie!
It was 6 years ago yesterday that oh proposed and will be 6 years ago tomorrow that I went and picked my ring, and told everyone we were engaged!!0 -
Lol bless your OH!! Thank god for the duvet cover lol.
Awww did you do anything yesterday to celebrate?
Oh I haven't said - a lady at work makes jewellery. I have asked her if the necklace I've got doesn't go whether she would mind making me something. She'll be able to come see the dress and match the bit of bling on it perfectly.Am really happy with that!! Lol So I've got an official wedding jewellery maker lol.

No- we dont celebrate that, oh probably isnt even aware of what date we got engaged, I remember as its my step dads birthday! We usually celebrate the date we met, and I think even once we are married we will still do something on that date aswell as our wedding anniversary.
Yes, thank goodness for the duvet! Main reason I wouldnt want him to see it is not because its bad luck but 1) I would like it to be a complete suprise and 2) it really doesnt look anything special on a hanger, its once its on, with accesories and the flower that makes it look right!
Oh thats fab then natalie. I work with someone who also makes lovely jewellery, I treated myself to a lovely necklace the other day that ill probably wear over christmas- also got mil2b a bracelet and necklace from her.0 -
Well Ive had a fairly prodictive evening!
Have ordered the 2nd part of my little sister christmas present- and was very chuffed as I had seen what I was going to get her for £25 in hmv, then found it for £12 on amazon- thought bargain but thought I would shop round a bit more- found it on asda for £8!! Just need to really hope it comes in time!!
Have wrapped up most of my presents! This is an achievement for me because although I LOVE christmas I do hate wrapping and tend to wrap most things just before they get given and ohs are usually wrapped christmas eve!! STill have a couple more to do but the worst of it is done!
All I need to do now for christmas is:
wrap last few bits
buy family cards
print of sisters boyfriends groupon present
buy older sister something else to go with her funky hat!
buy oh little bits (socks etc)
Pay for everything!!:rotfl:
Oh and I must remember to give oh his christmas card this year as I forgot last year and so still have it- and as he wont be my fiance next year I better not waste it this year!!:rotfl:0 -
Lol I've put MrD's Christmas card on the Christmas Pressie Pile so I won't forget to give him it lol.
Oh and I agree about not wanting MrD to see my dress. Not because it's unlucky - I was quite happy to show him it until I found The One. Now no-one apart from my mum is allowed to see it until it's on mePhotos don't do it justice and like yours I'm guessing on a hangar it wouldn't be wow.
and yep we celebrate the day we met as well.. and when we're married we'll still celebrate it lol cause we're marrying on the day we met.
Well done for getting pressies wrappedI really am sad - I love wrapping pressies!

Well a few people (my mum, nan and 3 sisters saw it on when I got it) and ohs mum has seen it on a hanger and kind of on (with the inside corset done up but not the buttons so she wouldnt have got full effect) and I have decided no one else is going to see it, and all of those who have seen it wont be seeing it on again until the day! I have decided to take it to alterations myself and go to fittings myself so that no one will get the full effect until the day!
Oh and I tried my tiara and necklace on together again last night- and I think it should be just right together!! I obviously cant be 100% sure until I try it on with my dress but im keeping my fingers crossed!
Im going to pay my chair cover deposit tomorrow. (tracey I will ask for you)0 -
Hello ladies
Natalie - wayhey, your 7-month mark has passed!
I had some fab news yesterday! I won a beautiful necklace and matching earrings in a wedding mag competition, they will be perfect for my BM to wear, so that'll save us a few quid! :T
You're all going to kill meI went to the fabric place yesterday, OMG they had such a huuuuge selection and I happily browsed for a while. Made notes of the prices etc.
Then I went to the shop where I had seen 'my' dress (v. similar to the blog dress, loved it on) - it was a pre-arranged appointment so I thought that it wouldn't hurt to go. Well... I have fallen in love with the shop dress again, and now I don't know whether to just order it from there (and pay £1,300 eeeek) or get the dressmaker to make it for about half that BUT run the risk of it not turning out right! Help...
Also (yay), the dress had been very tight 2 weeks ago and yesterday it zipped up like a dream, so the diet/exercise is working!!!!PinkPrincess83 wrote: »Thanks Wanchai- its just so annoying when you have all these good intentions and then come down ill so they go out the window!! Im hoping to make it to the gym over the weekend- but only if I feel better, Im not risking draining myself again, just as my energy levels start to get back to normal!!
Bet you looking looking forward to material shopping tomorrow- are you buying or just looking??
Just looking! Got some swatches which are very pretty.
LOL at your OH 'confessing', bless him! And great about the tiara and necklace going together xx7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Wanchai- do u have a pic of this dress? Ok, my opinion is if u love this dress and feel its the one and that there isnt anything u would change about it then u should go for it, but if there is anything you think isnt 100% right (ie the neckline or sleeves or anything you would prefer to be different) then i would go with the dressmaker.0

The above are my thoughts as well Wanchai!! I was thinking this was the weekend we would get a decision :rotfl: I loved the invitations with the twine around them. I have seen sprigs of lavender with a piece of twine around it and a button glued on . . . . . . i am thinking of copying that idea!!
I have spent the weekend getting a few jobs done off my list - i have cleared out my kitchen cupboards, tidied up my wardrobe and made a start on my xmas food shop already for Santa!!!!0
