For Xmas we will be spending the night round my parents, getting up exchanging presents, having dinner at my brothers, exchanging more presents and then more food. We will be spending boxing day with OH's family.0 -

Thanks for the warm welcome! I actually got alot planned when we first set the date. We've been engaged since July 2010, but started the planning August this year. We have a venue for the ceremony, it seats 40 people. Its a lovely house where I live, so its very local and homely. We are having the recpetion at a local pub where i've worked for years, they've just had a upstairs suite refurbished and its beautiful, overlooking the solent and the beach, so hopefully the weather will be good! I have my wedding dress bought (1200, down to 395, Maggie Sottero) and a band booked (Salsa band as my OH is Cuban, my main extravegance as I've had to hire them from Manchester! and getting anything to a island is costly!, that is 900) but now its just the little bits to get! I'm getting alot of favours and freebies, thank god. My mum has a nice new car so its just ribon on that, the wedding photographer is free as its my sisters best friend. Cake is being made by my mums work collegue. So really its just little things to get now (but they do add up!) So im glad i have this forum to help me along the way! Thats good about knowing about another 'Islander', hopefully she will know some tips and ideas too0

Welcome Allylou. July is proving a popular month. Most of us are on a tight budget. At 41 (cough, splutter) I'm the eldest on here but i need to save where ever I can!
Well I had a play with my evening invites have put another one together with the paper I had in. Each one will be different so I will send my faves to my friends and the not so great to H2b's distant lot!!!!!!0 -
Welcome AllyLou. I'm 22 as well and we also got engaged in July 2010:)
Christmas day (well if i'm not in labour:rotfl:!) We will spend the morning at my mums, then christmas lunch round OH's parents then back to mums in the evening.
I'm going to double check with my hairdresser tomorrow that she def can't come to my house in the morning then if she can't will send the deposit for the hair and make-up lady.

Well hopefully him and my dad will be talking. I already know that both sets of our parents have brought the baby a football kit for both teams for xmas. I tell you this is going to be fun.
I can't believe I only have twelve weeks to go I think I would be freaking out more if I only had three weeks to go.
I am freaking out how much uni work I have to do, I am trying to get everything to do for when the little one is due. I have 16,000 words to write and research and three exams to do.
This is on top of planning for the little one and also planning my wedding (which is the only thing I think I have under control at the moment)0
