2.5stone pregnancy gain is very modest indeed!!! Good for you :)

The name thing is a real dilemma isn't it!! I haven't decided yet :o

Thanks for the kind words re BMI - I am really a lot more upset about my body fat % tbh. That is scary! My body fat used to be about 22% in my slim days

Hope the veil matches your dress, that would be handy! :D

Just tried to catch up on the last couple of days.

Good bargain on the veil Emma - I am hoping to borrow my cousins. Am just waiting to see if it goes with my dress when I try it on

About taking OH's name. I am taking his name but am really sad about losing my surname, its part of who I am and I don't think he understands how important it is to me.

Wanchai - Can I advise you to not always look at the BMI scale as this are not always accurate as it does depend on your body type. For example if you judged me on my BMI I am classed as severly underweight and would be classed as anorexic. However, as my doctor stated I am perfectly healthy and just have a small frame.

I have now gained 2 1/2 stone since I fell pregnant. Luckily at the moment it is all on the bump, bum and boobs. Hopefully I will fit into my dress but they can take it out a size if needed.

Thanks lovecake. I really need to lose quite a bit though. I'm only 5'3" so any excess weight really shows on me :o

Good for you going to a dressmaker. I spoke to mine today but she is not that friendly on the phone, hope she's nicer in real life or I won't feel comfortable with her.

I love love love your jewellery!!!!! :D I love birdcage veils too! :) I really fancy one.

Nice bargain on the veil Emma! I am still totally undecided - although I'm leaning towards a birdcage veil...

Wanchai - don't worry, I felt yuk in loads of dresses that I tried on and didn't really enjoy the experience so you are not alone on that one! That's why I'm going down the dressmaker route. And 26 is not that bad at all for BMI! I think 20-25 is ideal so you only really need to lose a tiny bit of weight. Just lose as much or as little as you need to so that you feel comfortable on your big day :) Don't stress about it though - I'm sure your OH thinks you are beautiful as you are and will be overwhelmed with how amazing you look at the wedding regardless! :)

My jewellery arrived from Glitzy secrets yesterday! I love it all! :) Hopefully it will go well with my dress! on the subject of dresses, I have got my first fitting with my dressmaker on the 4th of Feb - woo hoo! :j I can't wait!

Other weddingy stuff - I have booked the florist and paid the deposit and our photographer posted some of our engagement pics on her blog! :) We are really pleased with them and can't wait to get the CD with all the images! If anyone wants to see them I'll PM you the link.

Hope everyone is good today! :)

Yeah but I still have another 12 weeks to go. If things keep going the way they do hopefully it wont change my bodyshape too much and the dress will still fit. As I have a small frame the bump looks huge on me and everyone thinks I am full term.

Wanchai- you bmi is only just one over so dont put yourself down too much or be too hard on yourself- just use it to motivate yourself. Are yo still going to talk with the dress maker?

Veil- I really am unsure but at least if I have one I can try it and see what I think. Even if I decide I want one but this one isnt quite right I can sell it on and get myself a different one.

My first dress fitting isnt until April- which is probably just aswell as it will give me over 12 weeks in the new year to really concentrate on losing a few inches.

Lovecake- love the jewellery your got. can you pm your photos? would love a look. SOunds like your plans are coming along well.

Thanks :) I really am touched by all your loveliness, and sorry for having a big old moan!!! You ladies really are sweethearts :) I feel better for having confided in you.

P.s. tfutcher - can you order your invitations with no names on, and just fill in the names yourselves? Your OH can change his mond as often as he wants then! :)

Tracey - those invites are lovely :) And I agree with Wanchai - could you order the definites by name but then order some spare blank ones for randoms that you may decide to add at a later day?

Wanchai - glad we could help. :) (I'm 5ft2.5 so I do understand - my BMI is around 26 at the moment and I do feel fat so I do understand. This mornings very naughty sneaky peek was 10st1.5. I want to get to 8st13.5 (so I can say I'm under 9st). At that weight I will be around 22 BMI. But like you I want to be fit. I've gone from being able to bang out a 5K run in 30 mins comfortably without much training or thought to not having run for nearly 2-3months!! Eeek! I have started doing my old exercise DVDs again, and I've ordered a new nose plug to go swimming with. As soon as that comes I'll be dragging MrD to the pool. (He really should go - back in May he tore one of his ligaments in his shoulder around the collar bone - and while it's healed to nearly full capacity he really noticed it's weakness when we were swimming on holiday). Am looking forward to that. We've got the Lincoln 10K in April so once I've lost this general bloatedness feeling I am going to start training properly for that. (There is nothing worse than running and your bloated bits wobblying all over). That reminds me I need to buy some proper winter running gear. On Friday I will do my fat percentage and will let you know what that says (eeek). We can do it Wanchai.... BUT I bet if you saw a recent photo of me (taken in the right angle lol) you would tell me not to lose any weight. :)

I'm rambling (no change) - and look at the time - I should be getting ready for work!

Oh and tracey - I seriously suffer from Bump Envy!! When I see pregnant ladies with proper bumps (lol I mean where the mum wasn't size 30 first and is now pregnant), I do get envious!! Lol and I don't particularly want children (or so I keep telling myself) :rotfl:

I've PM'd you the link our engagement pics. :)
  • Just catching up - Feel a little late in saying Onwards and Upwards to Wanchai. Whether its 2lbs or 2 stone if you are uncomfortable in yourself then there is no worse feeling. I do sympathise. I am like Natalie i can talk the talk but i don't walk the walk! I once ran a Slimming club before i fell pregnant with my son and lost 4stone. I put it all back on during the pregnancy and have fought with it ever since. He is 19 next week!!!!!!! I get so annoyed with myself because i know what to do, i know how it works yet still i can not focus. I'm 5' 6" and people always say i carry it better . . . that does not help. I need someone to say your a lard a**e, sort it out.

On a different note i had a panic about my invites yesterday. Good friends of ours have just got engaged and the B2B has made her own Save the Date tags and sent us one. It was gorgeous and now i feel my actual invites are poor in comparison. I thinks it is my lack of computer knowledge that is letting me down. She had a lovely little line of hearts printed along the bottom. I think i need to find someone who can create a nice insert for me as mine is boring. I am happy with my colours, the choice of paper, the buttons and ribbon but the inside just isn't right!! Back to the drawing board
  • Aaarggghh!! Just got a voicemail from the bridal shop saying my dress has come back from the manufacturers... I wasn't expecting it til March 2012!

Feeling strangely apprehensive about seeing it... I've had doubts in the past that I didn't pick the right one, it wasn't blingey enough etc... am really worried that I'm going to see it and think "oh..." rather than really like it.

Also, wanted to lose at least another half stone before I tried it on... do you know if it's ok to do this? i.e. ask the shop to keep a hold of it for a couple of months before I try it on?

Do bridal shops generally store your dress until nearer the wedding!? I don't really want to have it hanging up and scrunched in my wardrobe for 6 months...

    Help!!

Morning all!!!!!!! I am filled with resolve! I had a pretty good day yesterday foodwise, also did lots of squats before bed, so am feeling a bit more positive. I also opened up to OH about how I feel about my weight and he was very nice about it. He is going to be more supportive and not sit scoffing crisps in front of me lol.

I also refused a HM biscuit this morning from a colleague, where usually I would just have it without a second thought. :o Baby steps, but they will all add up! I realise that I need the right diet as well as exercising - can't lose weight by doing one but not the other!

lovecake - can you PM me the pics too? :)

We are almost the same height and weight, so I will be following your progress with interest. :) It might spur me on, as I will feel bad if you are losing weight and I'm not! :D

Breakfast was muesli today. :) I boiled my usual 2 eggs (for the usual amount of time) but the water must have been colder than usual when I put them in, as the whites were still runny when I took the tops off, bleurgh!!!! They went in the bin. Luckily I had my muesli at work so I didn't succumb to the canteen! Lunch is going to be rye bread with some duck pate which I bought at a farmers' market and have been meaning to eat for weeks. I know that it's not the lowest in fat but I will only eat a little bit and save the rest of the (tiny) jar for tomorrow! I'm seeing the dressmaker this evening so will have something small for dinner afterwards.

    LOL @ bump envy! :rotfl:

Aw FC, I feel your pain re invites! But you will get there in the end! :D If it makes you feel better, I haven't even started ours, will have to ask an arty friend for some help! :o

Re weight - you're so right, and thank you for sharing your story. I did need the kick up the bum - and it came in the form of the doctor the other day. I was so shocked seeing the results printed out that something just snapped. I don't want to wake up the morning of the wedding at 10st4lbs and feel like a big fat failure. So the time to sort it out is now! And nobody is going to do it for me!

Well done on losing 4 stone that time, proves that you *can* do it! You're right - losing weight is a simple process, but it's the mental process that's tough. Lack of willpower, emotional eating, boredom - they all play a part! I reckon that if anything is EVER going to focus my mind, it's this wedding. It is now or never... :o:o:o
