Melanie- hope your feeling better soon- hopefully at least if you get being ill over and done with now youll be ok for christmas.
I think im going to hibernate in the new year and not emerge til the 27th July!! 1) I hate the cold and snow and 2) if I hibernate I cant bruise myself or do myself any injuries or marks!!:rotfl:. I am always catching my hands, arms, legs etc and so know i will probably end up with little cuts in any hand pictures, and probably bruises on my arms!0 -
Oh I bruise really easily too and get some really random ones!! Lol. We'll have to have a "who can get the oddest bruise in a wedding photo" competition.
Great news - the beer's best before is Aug 2012!! Hurrah!! So that was a right bargain!0 -
My friend suggested we go paintballing soon- I said I cant go until after im married cos last time I went I got a MASSIVE bruise on my leg that was visible for months and months!
oh thats good about the beer. is mrd secretly disappointed though?:rotfl:0 -

oh well if hes sensible he wont have them yet then!
Well i think I may have got myself a veil! Ive been undecided for ages and then I came across someone selling a nice one (new and unused) for a tenner so have decided to get it- so if I have a centred bun I will wear it, if I have a side bun I can sell it on and not lose much! (the main reason i like the idea of one is so I dont feel so exposed round my shoulders and back:))0 -
Great bargain!!0

Hi all
Thanks for your kind words. Sorry I've been off the thread for a few days.
I went dress shopping at the weekend and just found it all a bit upsetting. I am seeing lovely dresses - it's ME that I don't like. I felt so fat, frumpy and awful. Then I was at the doc yesterday and asked him to check my weight, body fat etc. My body fat is currently 35.9% and my BMI is 26!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek: I was horrified.I made him print out the results, then I went home and had a good cry. Then I dusted myself off and resolved to stop messing about and do something about my weight. I have decided to cut out fatty, sugary foods, cut back on alcohol, eat smaller portions and exercise more. I think that seeing those figures in B&W has given me an enormous kick up the bum. So I am back on the motorway good and proper, and hopefully I can stay on it. I only have 7 months and 8 days to lose this weight, I have to do it!! I'm only cheating myself if I don't stick to it...
I don't know if I have the heart to go to any more dress shops at the mo...I bought extra sweets for consumption immediately... I'm keeping the other (huge) jars sealed! I tried to keep the sweets in my colour theme but couldn't resist buying a few more for the evening too to make a candy table. I bought some cute heart shaped ones and ring shaped ones in case any of my guests wanted to propose with a sweetie ring! what am I like?
If anyone proposes at my wedding I probably won't be too amused! Is that a bit bridezilla of me? I don't think it's the done thing, or maybe I'm wrong...Mine wouldn't flow either if I do take his name! I have mentioned it before to him and he isn't too bothered either way lol! Good point about having to make sure work are aware - maybe it would be a bit confusing because I'd have to have my bank details and payslip etc as my married name but then be 'known as' my proper name. Does nobody else feel the least bit upset about losing their old name? I feel like I'm being a bit weird but I've had that name all my life - it's like losing my identity!! :rotfl:
xx
I feel the same lol! Still undecided!MrsD, lol at your fiance, good point actually! :rotfl:

HUGS!! Okay you have made the decision to do something about it - that is the important thing. Not what the scales/BMI/Fat % say now - but what they will say in a few months time when you've been losing weight (and as cliched as it sounds - feeling great!). BUT just to put you into a little bit of perspective (cause I think it helps)... when I started dieting I had a BMI of 32 and my fat percentage was 39!! After 8 months of being 'good enough' I lost 3st 12lbs, my fat percentage went down to 25% and my BMI was a very respectable 22 (26 really is NOT that far off the ideal range - which is just over 18 to 25!!)
Okay so I've put on about a stone and half since then - (15th Jan 2010 was when I hit my target). But if I can do it then anyone can!!
My two biggest tips is: Plan EVERYTHING - every meal/snack/exercise everything - if you don't have healthy food in the house you will be more likely to eat crap. If you don't schedule exercise into your routines you won't do it. And don't look at the big picture, take each small step at a time. For me I looked at 7lbs loss - focused on that and rewarded myself with something non-food/drink related (shoes, massage, nails, etc) But you could focus on say every 2% of fat lost you treat yourself to something. I would roughly reward myself every month which made it manageable. It's this theory I'm using now I'm back on the straight and narrow (albeit only since Friday lol), I'm focusing on getting to 9st 13.5lbs then I will squirrel £50 away. When I'm back to 8st 13.5 (my target was 8st 11lbs), then I will have saved £150 for me to splash out on something diving related.
Okay I've rambled.
But in a way you have helped me - cause I can talk the talk - but I can't walk the walk very well anymore. It's Tuesday night - and for the last 3 or 4 Tuesdays after yoga we've had a dominos - but writing all this has helped my determination to crack the habit tonight! Raaaaar!
PS
Oh and my other piece of advice - stop torturing yourself by going dress shopping. ESPECIALLY when you love your monsoon dress so much xx
(I don't mean that 'big' girls aren't allowed to try dresses on - but I think you're putting so much emphasis on that reflection in the mirror right now and that isn't helping you). xx0 -
Nice bargain on the veil Emma! I am still totally undecided - although I'm leaning towards a birdcage veil...
Wanchai - don't worry, I felt yuk in loads of dresses that I tried on and didn't really enjoy the experience so you are not alone on that one! That's why I'm going down the dressmaker route. And 26 is not that bad at all for BMI! I think 20-25 is ideal so you only really need to lose a tiny bit of weight. Just lose as much or as little as you need to so that you feel comfortable on your big dayDon't stress about it though - I'm sure your OH thinks you are beautiful as you are and will be overwhelmed with how amazing you look at the wedding regardless!
My jewellery arrived from Glitzy secrets yesterday! I love it all!Hopefully it will go well with my dress! on the subject of dresses, I have got my first fitting with my dressmaker on the 4th of Feb - woo hoo! :j I can't wait!
Other weddingy stuff - I have booked the florist and paid the deposit and our photographer posted some of our engagement pics on her blog!We are really pleased with them and can't wait to get the CD with all the images! If anyone wants to see them I'll PM you the link.
Hope everyone is good today!0
