Oh I get you! ;) Haha! I'll do that this weekend :)
  • Wanchai- you bmi is only just one over so dont put yourself down too much or be too hard on yourself- just use it to motivate yourself. Are yo still going to talk with the dress maker?

Veil- I really am unsure but at least if I have one I can try it and see what I think. Even if I decide I want one but this one isnt quite right I can sell it on and get myself a different one.

My first dress fitting isnt until April- which is probably just aswell as it will give me over 12 weeks in the new year to really concentrate on losing a few inches.

Lovecake- love the jewellery your got. can you pm your photos? would love a look. SOunds like your plans are coming along well.

Am back from Yoga - Wanchai - I want to know what your doctor said about your BMI? I mean if he said things to make you feel as crap as you did I'd be demanding to move to a different Doctor. Yes 26 is in the 'overweight' category but only JUST. On the NHS website they state a healthy range as 18.5-25. You're talking about 2-3lbs to get into the healthy range. I'm actually cross that your doctor made you feel like you're FAT. When I started dieting I wasn't overweight I was 'obese'. You do not need to lose weight!! Tone up - if you want to. But nope I take back everything I wrote above.

(Although I still maintain it helped me cause I've been a good girl - tea is in the oven - no Dominos for us!)

    hey guys,

Sorry been a long time since I have been on here. Hope everyone is ok and wedding plans are going ok.

Today I started sorting out our guest list, so I can order invites in the new year, and already my partner is driving me mad. He has changed his mind 6 times in the last few days over who he wants to invite. Am so worried that I will order invites and he will change his mind again and it will be a big waste of money.

These are the ones we are leaning towards, but with a claret bow

Just tried to catch up on the last couple of days.

Good bargain on the veil Emma - I am hoping to borrow my cousins. Am just waiting to see if it goes with my dress when I try it on

About taking OH's name. I am taking his name but am really sad about losing my surname, its part of who I am and I don't think he understands how important it is to me.

Wanchai - Can I advise you to not always look at the BMI scale as this are not always accurate as it does depend on your body type. For example if you judged me on my BMI I am classed as severly underweight and would be classed as anorexic. However, as my doctor stated I am perfectly healthy and just have a small frame.

I have now gained 2 1/2 stone since I fell pregnant. Luckily at the moment it is all on the bump, bum and boobs. Hopefully I will fit into my dress but they can take it out a size if needed.

Thanks :) you are very kind and it must have taken ages to write all that :o

Btw, the doc didn't make me feel bad at all - he was very kind, the numbers spoke for themselves. I'm the heaviest I've ever been, and my body fat and BMI are too high, simple as that.

Wow, you did amazingly well to lose all that weight!!! Any tips for low calorie snacks? That's my weakness. I was thinking carrot batons and sugar free jelly, but there must be more :o

You are so right re planning food and exercise. I was at the gym yesterday and am going again tomorrow. I've started doing square, lunges, tricep dips etc each day, and am going to prioritise exercise :)

I'm also going to reward myself -£20 into a treat pot for each 3lbs lost - which I will spend on myself when I reach my target. I'm currently 10st 4lbs and want to get down to 8st 8lbs. That's 24lbs, or over 1.5stone! I can do it!!

Good for you skipping the Dominos, I'm so proud! :D

p.s. maybe you're right about giving up the dress shopping :o

HUGS!! Okay you have made the decision to do something about it - that is the important thing. Not what the scales/BMI/Fat % say now - but what they will say in a few months time when you've been losing weight (and as cliched as it sounds - feeling great!). BUT just to put you into a little bit of perspective (cause I think it helps)... when I started dieting I had a BMI of 32 and my fat percentage was 39!! After 8 months of being 'good enough' I lost 3st 12lbs, my fat percentage went down to 25% and my BMI was a very respectable 22 (26 really is NOT that far off the ideal range - which is just over 18 to 25!!)
Okay so I've put on about a stone and half since then - (15th Jan 2010 was when I hit my target). But if I can do it then anyone can!!
My two biggest tips is: Plan EVERYTHING - every meal/snack/exercise everything - if you don't have healthy food in the house you will be more likely to eat crap. If you don't schedule exercise into your routines you won't do it. And don't look at the big picture, take each small step at a time. For me I looked at 7lbs loss - focused on that and rewarded myself with something non-food/drink related (shoes, massage, nails, etc) But you could focus on say every 2% of fat lost you treat yourself to something. I would roughly reward myself every month which made it manageable. It's this theory I'm using now I'm back on the straight and narrow (albeit only since Friday lol), I'm focusing on getting to 9st 13.5lbs then I will squirrel £50 away. When I'm back to 8st 13.5 (my target was 8st 11lbs), then I will have saved £150 for me to splash out on something diving related.

    Okay I've rambled.
But in a way you have helped me - cause I can talk the talk - but I can't walk the walk very well anymore. It's Tuesday night - and for the last 3 or 4 Tuesdays after yoga we've had a dominos - but writing all this has helped my determination to crack the habit tonight! Raaaaar!

    PS
Oh and my other piece of advice - stop torturing yourself by going dress shopping. ESPECIALLY when you love your monsoon dress so much xx
(I don't mean that 'big' girls aren't allowed to try dresses on - but I think you're putting so much emphasis on that reflection in the mirror right now and that isn't helping you). xx
