I just asked OH if i could get someone else to make the wedding invites and he said 'No your making them'. But i really don't know how to do them! starting to really stress my out:(
Sorry Emma i can't help with either questions.
Meant to be having a bridesmaid dress fitting tomorrow but it's been cancelled because she has to do an emergency dress change for a wedding because the girls pregnant! I said to my sister at least we know the dress maker can do emergencys!
If it's stressing you out, why not just buy some? No point worrying about something so simple, if he doesn't want bought ones then he can make them! Its all well and good making them if you have the time, inclination and know-how, and they can be amazing like the ones on here, but the majority of people will tear the envelope open (sorry Natalie but you know it's true
) and check the date inside without hardly looking at them! Spend your time doing the bits you want to do!
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Glue - I've used UHT glue for my invites.
Envelopes - lol Mel - I can't remember who it was that got me obsessed with envelopes - it might have been Melanie - lol whoever it was I am passing the blame!!
I am absolutely shattered!! This morning I went out to the freezer to find the door wide open, cue me frantically clearing the sink to dump all the meat we'd got so I could do something with it after work instead of just chucking it all.I have made 8 portions of cockaleekie soup, 10 portions of bolognese sauce, and 8 portions of pie filling. The bolognese is done, and potted up, nearly cold enough to put in the freezer. The cockaleekie is done, potted up, but is too hot to go in the freezer so I'll put the lids on when we go to bed and put them in in the morning. The pie filling is in the slow cooker - unfortunately that isn't going to be done by the time we go to bed so I've put it on low ready for when I wake up.
I am pooped! But yaaay tomorrow we're off wetsuit shopping.

Thanks for the glue advice, I have got some but its at my mums and I dont know what type of glue it all (all I can remember is being embarrassed at the range when I got it as they asked me for id!!)
LauraL- cant you rope in some help, maybe your mum or bridesmaids, get a production line going? If you really dont want to make them then I agree with Mel and think you should buy them.
I have designed some rsvps using the business card, it was meant to be free for 250, but its wanting to charge me about £3.50, plus p and p so im going to leave them in my basket and will see if they offer them free. If not its not much anyway and ill just pay for them.
Oh hope you get your wetsuit Natalie!0 -
Hmmmm, decisions decisions! After a little play I now how designed some little rsvp cards with a song choice part on the back, and as I was bored I have also designed matching evening invitations which would be a postcard. I can get all of this including delivery for just under £12! I do have everything for the evening invites already but im thinking for the price (all I would be paying for is 100 envelopes and maybe £1 or £ extra postage) I should go for it and then me and my mum would only need to make the day invites!!
One quick question- on the rsvp I was going to put my email and mobile- but as I want people to reply with a song choice should I still include it?
Oh ive just ordered 2 thank you bridesmaid cards and 1 thank you flowergirl card- costing me a bargain total of £1.18 from Funky pigeon. They were £2.99 each so I ordered 2 using £3 in my account as I recommended a friend, and a 30% off I found in the grabbit costing me £1.18 then I ordered then last one using a code the had emailed me for a free card- Im rather chuffed with that!!0 -
I think you could still put your email address and phone number on but be prepared for people to not put their song choice on, and for you to have to email/text them back asking for it.
:T good bargain at Funky Pigeon!
Well,Yesterday MrD and I went to Lincoln to have a look at wetsuits. We've both come away with a mask and a snorkel. But more importantly we've both placed an order for wetsuits. We did choose a suit that was nearly double what I had planned to spend - but it all came to what I'd budgeted to spend on diving equipment this month. They should be ready for us to collect next weekend.
Cannot wait till we go to Tenerife - only 3 weeks today!! :T The great thing about the mask and snorkel is they will get used on every beach holiday regardless of whether we do any diving. We have a pair of mask and snorkels that we bought years ago but they were just cheap ones that the mask flooded all the time, so it's nice to have a better fitting one that we can use snorkeling!

The cost of attending a wedding:
As you know my brother is getting married in Aug 2011, so I'm being as MSE as I can be about attending it, especially as we'd have just paid for our own wedding, and have just got back off honeymoon and all the expenses that involves
So far I have spent:
£36 on my dress. (Accessories and shoes already owned).
£0 on MrD's suit (he can wear his wedding suit!)
£35 on a premier Inn.
All that's left will be around £30-40 worth of diesel.
Carparking charges.
and a Gift.
It really makes you aware how much it costs for people to come to your wedding!! Especially when we don't have a premier inn/travel lodge anywhere near us for our guests to take advantage of!!0 -
Natalie- I think I will put my email address on, and if people dont give me a song choice it will just mean we can pick more of our own!!:D (im hoping people do rsvp though so I can keep them all in a keepsake box!!)
:jon getting your diving stuff- and im sure even though it was more than you originally planned to spend it will be well worth the money.
And Natalie- i know what you mean about the cost. Luckily most people are local or there is family members they can stay with, but we are hoping ohs aunt and cousin and my stepnan and her husband will make it- but they live abroad so im not sure if they will want to pay out all the money in flights. We went to a local evening reception on thursday- luckily i was driving so didnt get involved in rounds but if I had I reckon that would have been £60 between me and my oh- it all adds up so quickly!0 -
God yea I didn't even think about the drinks on the day!! As you say - I don't drink but sometimes soft drinks can be just as expensive as a pint of cheap beer
Hopefully by doing bits like buying my dress in this years sales, and getting the hotel sorted already we won't notice the outgoings as much.
Cor look at the time. Where has the weekend gone!!0 -
Moooorning! I have a grin like a cheshire cat today
. . . Booked the honeymoon last night. I am sooo excited now. Got my own way (a little bit!) as we couldn't secure a decent flight time on the Saturday 28th so we are flying on the 29th now which means i don't have to pack my suitcase before the wedding ceremony and leave it with a friend and shoot off to the airport straight from my reception. Phew! That was stressing me out. The thought of packing as well as getting everything ready at home and sorting out leaving the kids home alone for 2 weeks. Now i get to stay in a hotel on the wedding night, have breakfast and lunch with my new husband(!) then home to finish packing my suitcase, see my kids and then down to the Airport and spend a night in the Hilton before our morning flight to Italy. H2B has also treated me to an upgrade = junior suite at the honeymoon Hotel . . . . it looks amazing. Feel properly spoilt, i could get used to this. :T
Now its time to concentrate on getting my body bikini ready, theres alot of work to do, so i'm pleased i had already made a start on it!! Another pound and a half shifted this week so thats 16 in total now. I need to lose just half a pound and i will be in the next stone bracket. I was exactly ?? stone and 0 pounds this morning. I knew i should of shaved my legs and plucked my eyebrows last night then i might just of made it :rotfl:0 -
:j:jon booking the honeymoon. I think youve made the right choice by flying out 2 days after wedding, otherwise I think everything will be rushed- and youll be busy enough before the wedding sorting out wedding bits without having to sort out all honeymoon stuff aswell. We are doing the same, get married 28th. go up to a hotel near the airport on the sunday and then flying out early Monday.
Well done on the weightloss, your doing so well. Youll have that bikini body before you know it. I have so far lost 3.5lb in the 3 weeks since I started being good- which I am pleased with, so suprised I actually lost some this week considering I hadnt been very good at some points throughout the week.0
