Well I have just had a little bit of a play with some spare invites - and while they will go through my printer ok, the black is smudging on the roller bit of the printer so that is a no go. I have also remembered that I've already stuck the stamps on so doing it on stickers wouldn't work cause that'd go over the stamps. So I think I'm just going to write them by hand as originally planned.
Will save the printing ink anyway! :rotfl: (Shall we see how many times I change my mind! - I am half tempted to print them all out on normal paper, cut them out and stick them onto the envelopes - and for those I've got stamps already on I can cut around the stamp - I would have to re jig some though where I've got the names going all the way along the top - cause of the stamps being in the way!)

Oh, well I doubt mine will go through a printer then! Ill have to have a chat with my mum, will have to work out the best way of doing it. I think the inserts will be fine as they arent that thick, It may just be the part that says wedding invitation and evening invitation that I need to get sone properly. I may even have one or 2 people that may be able to print them at work.
Could you not print them on labels? Or are your envelopes not white?0 -
I could but I'd have the same problem as printing them on paper and cutting them - the stamps will still get in the way. My envelopes are A7 sized (an eighth of a sheet of A4), putting a large stamp on them has taken up almost a quarter of the envelope (slight exaggeration). My designs have the names so they run along the left hand and top edge of the envelope, with the address in the bottom right corner.
I don't know if I've fully given up yet. The problem is the envelopes aren't 'inkjet quality' - I may have another play to see if I can change the paper settings so it doesn't dump as much black ink and see if that helps the extra smudgy ness of ink on the rollers. The biggest problem is I think I've only got around 2 or 3 spare envelopes left.
Oh I did a count how many invites I've made, and the latest revision of the guest list and I have 1 spare party invite, and 1 spare thank you card.
I *may* just print the addresses out on plain normal paper and then cut around the stamp and glue them. But then with that (or with a sticker) you'd have an 'edge' argh! Lol.0 -
We are such a picky lot with out invites! They've just got to be right. Haha
I'd be interested in any Sorrento hotels so if any sisters, friends or colleagues go then I'd love to see their hotels!! Came home to another bag of purple buttons arrived so I can finish off the BM's bouquet. Pics to follow soon
Still it's keeping my hands busy and stopping me from eating, I sooooo want something sweet!!!!!!0 -
Hi everyone!
Sorry I haven't been about much recently, been stupidly busy!
Ah honeymoon talk, we still have no idea where to go - I would LOVE to go to Cedar Point (the roller coaster capital of the world) but it's highly unlikely that we will have enough cash (and even if we do, my sensible head will make me put it towards the house deposit, not a frivolous holiday) so it will probably be a cheapy deal to somewhere like Menorca for us!
I like the new style of invites you've gone for Melanie - are you going to leave the little labels handwritten or will you type them? I like the pattern on them. I don't think anyone will notice though if they don't match, it's not like you take the invitation with you to the wedding.
I got a wedding invitation from a friend the other day - it was ENORMOUS, about half an inch thick and about 15 pages of information in! It must have cost a fortune. I can't go because it's on a weekday but I felt really guilty chucking it in the bin because it must have taken so much effort! :rotfl: People won't have to worry about that with mine because they worked out at about 15p each haha.
I am quite pleased with the foam flowers I bought from the ebay woman, I think I will get them for the actual flowers I will carry - I'm so sure I'll put them down somewhere though haha, I hate carrying things in my hands - thats what handbags are for! Do you think I could get away with taking a handbag down the aisle and shoving the flowers in there :rotfl::p
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -

LauraL- Im having the opposite problem, me and my mum are meant to be making them and I know exactly how I want them to look and she keeps says 'oh ill ask so and so how they did this' or 'Ill get so and so to do the writing' or 'ill get so and so to make them'!! I keep saying 'no mum, we will be making them'!!
Ok crafty people- I will be having a card outer with a thin card insert, I will also be having ribbon which will be hidden between the 2 layers of card- what type of glue will stick this best??0 -

Emma - i was once read on here that Vistaprint is very good but the idea is to find what you like and add it to your basket and NOT purchase it . . . . they will contact you with a free offer of some sort to encourage you to purchase! very MSE!0 -

Definately treat yourself to a glue gun. It will hold for years. Pritt stick decays after just a few weeks so thats a big No No.
Laura - have a trawl through google images for some of the invites you like the look of and we'll all help you put it together. It is very rewarding to make your own and you can keep it very simple. Mine couldn't be much easier tbh!!! (although i'm not allowed to change my mind anymore, hahaha :rotfl:)0
