Melanie- I was reading your post whilst eating my yummy homemade soup at lunch time, and was chatting, next thing- boiling hot soup all in my lap! Ouch is an understatement of the stinging that im currently getting in my leg!! It really hurts, Im now home and just trying to keep it cool! Stupid healthy lunch!!:rotfl:Wouldnt have happened if I was eAting a greggs bloomer sarnie or something!!:p
Ok honest opinion, im sure no one would even notice or probably care, but if it was me I would want it matching, plus also an invite is a good way of people knowing the colour scheme. Its a shame you have the brown writing otherwise you could have still used the inserts. It really is up to you, if your not happy with them then I would say redo them or it will grate on you.
Hen night- go ape sounds a good option, will have to see where they do it, i know they do it new forest way which isnt too far! I do love alton towers- me and oh have been 4 times, but I also like that its our little thing! Weve stayed in the alton towers hotel and splash landings and they were fab, I think it was actually about a year ago since we last went!0 -
Pinkprincess is right, I think the only people who notice the details are other brides to be! In saying that, I'd also want it the same!
I'd maybe make the decision based on exactly how expensive they were? If they were a fortune I'd be less inclined to scrap them.
I think purple and silver/grey sounds like it'll be beautiful together!

i went to a wedding recently and the invites where beautiful they where coral pearly card with a starfish style diamante thing on the front then had cream pearly inserts.. they where very ££££ when we got there the brides dress was white and bridesmaids where bright pink as where the mens cravats with white waste coats... so NO i dont think it matters! i wouldnt of noticed but because i was making my invites at the time i looked at it in great detail! (sad i know)
who did u use for your inserts?

Thanks for your opinions - i have put my logical money head on it this afternoon. I have spent £1.23 per invite for card, paper, ribbon, postage and good quality envelopes so far. It would cost me a further 0.25p to change the card and ribbon at this stage. I could still use the inserts attached on a lilac/purple card, still use the cream envelopes and use the packs of paper sheets i brought for the Menu cards as i still have loads left. I may need 1 more pack at £1.50 so i *think* it will cost me a further 27p per invite to change my mind!! When i put it like that i can justify the change . . . . however in total my invites have cost £1.50 each, not very MSE. I blame the postage and the extra posh envelopes!!
I'll do a few mock up's later to see what i think and i'll subtly hint to H2B that i might change them!0 -

Oww . . damn those healthy lunches! Never sustain an injury like that from a doorstep sarnie.
Same goes for a happy jogger . . . ever seen one?? No i thouight not. My motto is the day i see someone running with a smile of enjoyment on their face is the day i'll give it a go :rotfl:0 -

I used a local stationery company who do laser printing so i could choose any font and colour ink etc . . . my printer at home is box standard so felt the print quality would be better and it is.0 -
Melanie- I think for the extra cost if it will mean your much happier with the invites you should go for it. Im sure whatever you go for will look fab:)
My leg is better- luckily the redness and stinging has gone down! Thats very true about a happy jogger! They just dont exist!!0 -
Melanie - read which ever response you'd rather hear:
* The MSE response: Keep the invites you have - just tie the colours together by using purple/lilac buttons. Noone is going to notice that your invites don't match the rest of your colour scheme, especially when you think about the time scale between when you send them and when they attend your wedding.
* The OCD response: Start again. Lol.
Unfortunately I can't honestly say I would follow the first piece of advice lol.
Lol looks like I'm too lateproblem with posting so late at night rather than straight after work!!
Emma - ouch!! Hope your leg is feeling better soon!!
If you saw me and MrD jogging you may catch glimpses of me smiling and even laughing in between gasping for breath as we chat along our route. I will admit - the smiles are usually behind closed doors when it's over though - it is a great feeling completing a run!! We've literally just started our 5k to 10k training today.By Christmas we should be able to comfortably run 10K.

I dont get how people chat while they jog- I need music and to go into my own little world! When me and friend used to go jogging we did used to have a giggle- like the time we were jogging along looking shattered and not at our best and we got beeped at by a footballer!! :rotfl:
Good luck with the 10k training.0 -
i wouldnt be able to talk if i jogged even if i wanted too!!! haha!!0
