I went to wedding recently and they had this reading which I thought was lovely:“Blessing of the Hands", revised by Rev. Daniel L. Harris (back to top of page)
(best to be read just before the exchange of rings)
“These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and as in today, tears of joy. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children, the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.”

2 hrs later I've done the bloody hedge. I've only done the front of it - the side closest to the road, I haven't done the top or the side that faces the house. I am shattered and I've totally run out of green waste space so I'm calling it a job done lol. (We have a wheely bin for green waste which I filled with about half the hedge, the other half I've put into what bags I could make out of underlay/carpet cover bags that MrD's brought home). Still got all the other waste from digging up the back hedge! Really should get round to take it all to the tip!! My hands have worked so hard holding the blooming hedge trimmer (it's really heavy when you use it for 2 hrs!) they are shaking when I hold them out straight. I definitely deserved the cupcake - lol just got one left (for me MrD still has 3 left) which I'll have mid-afternoon.
I think I'll have a nap this afternoon lol.0 -
God I'm such a wuss - just read that passage Emma and I welled up!! Perhaps having personalised readings vows isn't a good idea - lol I'm so going to cry!! Lol.!!0

Tried these on in Milton Keynes on Sunday (only had a 41 in store and were a little big). I like them, but don't know whether to buy them?!0

Buy them, Buy them, Buy them- those shoes are lovely.:D
It is a lovely reading, and thats the reason I wont be having a reading or personalised vows as I will cry!!0 -
I've printed it out to show MrD later (much later - lol Easter time when we look at the ceremony details lol). I think it'd be nice if someone from my family (one of my brothers) does a reading, and someone from his family does one (his dad maybe). Our mums are going to be our witnesses, and my granddad is walking with me down the aisle. Lol I am thinking it should be a blub fest - I want our mums to sob at the least lol.
Oh god and I will blub at my brothers wedding 3 weeks after ours thinking of our memories!!
