Oo I like the phrase 'un-bridesmaid'
I will have to tell her that you've renamed her.
Unfortunately (well not really) she won't be at the ceremony - we're literally only having our parents, siblings and their children, oh and my granddad of course. No friends. No bridal party as such. I haven't really thought about - and haven't mentioned anything yet to MrD but I suspect he's of the 'lets get it over with' camp lol. I know he doesn't want faff which I suppose readings etc would come under. In terms of people being involved - we have: My granddad walking me down the aisle, our mums being our witnesses, that really only leaves his dad to do a reading of some sort, and the registrar can do one. But I'm not sure whether he'd want to. Lol we have said there are to be no speeches, even written it on the invites. MrD's mum is still under the illusion that MrD is going to give a speech lol. Bless her. She doesn't know her son very well :rotfl:.
I agree - I think your wedding band matches the style of your engagement ring really really well - it's like you actually bought them as a set.
I hope you have a good first day back tomorrow Mel, when do the kiddies go back? I'm back at work a week today - I actually wish I was back tomorrow. Lol all I have to look forward to tomorrow is sorting the front hedge out!! Just think there is only 5 more school holidays left till we get married!!! :T0 -
Lol bless you Mel - I am sure she wouldn't have thought you were taking the mick!! I did think the same but then I wondered if the creases were so bad that they made the petticoat fall wrong and make it not sit as close to the ground and hence the bottom of the dress as it should. That was the only reason I could think of - lol other than if it was me I'd want every single detail to be perfect whether you can see them or not. Perhaps Emma can say whether I'm right - lol she's the only one of us I know that has one0

Did a little more wedding stuff over the weekend, have now ordered the stamps to do the save the date cards and invites, also have the aida fabric for the cross-stitch. Got a bargain in B&Q yesterday, we're looking to have pots of lavendar on the tables as table centres and were looking for terracotta pots yesterday, Wyevale were 59p for a 11cm pot, and B&Q were 50p for a 9cm pot and 3 for 2. As H2B decided we needed a number of them, we picked up a cellophane wrapped packet of 18, so were expecting to pay £6, but the dippy assistant only scanned one of the pots so got them all for 50p
Stamps should be arriving in the next few days, so some of next weekend will be sorting out the save the date cards, as well as helping out my mum and sister at a Brownie sleepover. We're thinking of purple cards for the invites, so have been looking for some oval aperture cards, refusing to spend 75p on a card in Hobbycraft, but have found some online for 18p each.
Best get back to work, my job has changed recently, so I'm not only looking after undergraduate students, but postgraduate students now as well.... hopefully they won't be as bad as the ones that I looked after in the Business School that I used to work in!0 -
Oh that is brilliant Michelle - can't beat accidental bargains lol.
I still haven't got dressed...lol!0 -
LauraR - Love all your invites, really like the hearts.
mel - your rings look lovely together.:D
*stamps feet* i want a wedding ring!
I'm going send our invites out in February and rsvp's by May. So, then at least we will have a couple of months to invite other people if some can't come. Also, was going to get mum and OH mum to write a little save the date in Christmas cards.0 -
The only thing I can think with regards to the petticoat is if it has quite heavy netting and thats creased the dress wouldnt sit right, or if the actual dress doesnt have much netting then the petticoat would need to be flat to stop any creases showing through.
Natalie- is the healthy eating starting tomorrow once the yummy cupcakes have gone?? Well I was meant to start being good today- so fingers crossed I can do it this time. Annoyed though that I didnt get to finish off the weekend eating my fave foods- like the cheese and onion rolls I had in the fridge that oh happily ate yesterday while I could hardly eat anything- stupid stomach bug!!:rotfl:
LauraL- I thought you were going to look at rings a few weeks back, I take it you didnt get round to it, im sure you will get yours soon.
Michelle- sounds like things are coming together really well, the lavendar centrepieces sound fab.
Vows- Im going for the standard ones theyve given us, we have a choice of 3 and I think im going for the middle ones, I wouldnt want to do my own vows, I like the idea of how personal they are, but would either laugh through (to hide my nerves) or blub through them so Ill give it a miss.:D0
