It's all getting a little exciting now. Off to the Isle of Wight on Saturday to have a look at the venue and to confirm as necessary.
I'm all set, I've got my dress, shoes and tiara now - mum and I went shopping in Oxford on Saturday, a catch up after my two weeks in Sweden as well as starting to look for her outfit. We weren't too successful on that, but did manage to buy some lovely jewellery and the tiara from jon richard in Debenhams, which also had a sale on. Went to Bicester Village on the way home, a little disappointed that Monsoon/Accessorize is no longer there - looks like I won't be going back there for a while, as Monsoon was one of the main reasons I liked going there.
Just playing the waiting game at work now, all decisions made on A level results just waiting for tomorrow to see how many call about clearing.

Hiya Michelle - and welcome back...
have I missed your report about Sweden?!
Hurrah at buying your dress, shoes and tiara!! Piccies? Links??
Oh and oooo how exciting about going to Isle of Wight!! Bet you can't wait!!0 -
Hi everyone!
Just got back from a little holiday up in Scarborough, got quite lucky with the weather just a couple of little downpours but we had our waterproofs lol (getting old)
Well I'm getting desperate now for weddingy things to do so I've just written a list of places I need to inform of my change of name. Lol yep you guessed it - it's a spread sheet - company name, phone number, web address, membership numbers etc.
Can you think of any I've missed:
Probably not massively important but Amazon/Ebay? It's not a change of address though is it so it doesn't really matter if stuff still comes in your other name. I'm sure you'll know who it's meant for! :rotfl:Ooo another Melanie (Silaqu = Mel though so that's easy enough for us to differentiate - not like all the pesky Lauras :rotfl:).laurarobby wrote: »
is anyone practicing their first kiss or just going in for the kill? i was watching 4 weddings and he kissed her before they had finished(straight after he put her ring on) and it made me think?!?!

Aaargh I am dreading that bit! I hate public displays of affection and especially in front of family! I'm not really a huggy/kissy person but my oh is, I have to push him away half the time lol! On holiday he kept trying to hold my hand but I don't like it because I feel like I've got someone hanging on me. I'm gonna have to practice haha.
Natalie that dinner sounds lovely... making me feel hungry!
Yay for baby news - I don't really 'get' babies lol but I'm sure it was all good stuff!
OH's auntie and her kids were in Scarborough while we were there so we ended up meeting for lunch - she's got two kids aged 2 and 7, we were sat in this cafe waiting for some food when the youngest one shouted out loud to the whole restaurant "Mummy I've got poo coming out of my bum" thanks for that love you've just saved me a few calories cuz I don't fancy my lunch any more!
Nothing else weddingy done here, I am gonna scan the thread this week for Natalies lists so I can see if there's anything I've missed haha!
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -

Hey everyone
Michelle-:jon getting your outfit sorted. How was Sweden? I dread going shopping with my mum for her outfit, She will moan how fat she looks, isnt comfy and thats after Ive had a mission to get her to try anything on as she doesnt do trying on!!
Natalie- your dinner sounds yummy!
Mel- I would have burst out laughing if I heard a kid saying that. I dont really get the whole baby thing either, I think they are cute but most babies dont usually make me feel broody (they have to be mega cute to make me broody), I much prefer toddlers as thye have character!
Well again the post man didnt bring me either of my wedding things im waiting for!:( I have however had an email back from a dj so ive replied saying I want to book him, so thats my last big thing organised!! (well hopefully anyway!!)0 -
Hurrah for getting your DJ sorted0
-
Im just waiting for him to confirm, he did say could I let him know asap cos he has someone else asking for the same date, I wasnt sure if that was a tactic to get me to book or if he really did, but wasnt going to risk waiting. He is right at the top of the budget but Im hoping it will be worth it. I think this is one of the only things that has been right at the top of the budget!!
I was thinking:
We get married at 3, will probably aim to get back to the reception and all seated for 5.30- food served at 5.30 for about 45 guests- food will be a cold meat buffet with some hot bits aswell and pudding, evening buffet will be served about 8.30, probably have about 100-120 in total plus ill have 80 cupcakes, a small chocolate cake and Im going to get a small fruit cake just to get out after the cake has been cut, I wonder how many people to cater for in the evening bearing in mind 45 people would have already stuffed their faces (and they should have had lunch aswell)- any ideas on this??0 -
That is a really tough one Emma - and I have no idea lol. I think I'd be tempted to go for about 75% of your evening guests - that way you aren't catering for everyone but there should be enough to go round. Perhaps put this out as a new thread and ask the rest of the forum for their thoughts.0
-
Its difficult to gauge how many to cater for isnt it. I think ill wait till I have my definate numbers then I can post a thread to get some advice.
Emma is still stomping her feet- I want to have my vouchers so I can order my ring and I want my petticoat to come so I can try my pretty dress on and share it with you!!
:jOh Dj has confirmed- I just want him to confirm his price as it was passed on from a friend, and I wouldnt want him to try and up the price next year and say I was given an incorrect price.0
