Hahahaha love the "49 Friday's to go" count down. Cor how scary does that sound.
:) Welcome to one of the most chattiest threads on here. Lol bless you trying to read through everything - would it be easier if we just summarise our weddings/plans for you? Lol. I would most definitely say though - do not compare yourselves to us - some of us *cough me cough* are super organised (read control freak lol). There most definitely isn't a right way or wrong way to organise a wedding - lol as long as in the end you say I do that is all that matters. So what have you got planned so far? (And for LauraL's first page list - what is your real name/what shall we call you).

I'm in Lincs too - but up in Louth :)

One more fence panel down - I have 4 builders bags (1m cubed) full of hedge/bramble/nettles/ivy/roots/whatever else had grown where the hedge used to be. I reckon another two bags and I'll be done - only problem is I think we've run out of them! It does look sooo much better though! But now I've done the bit I wanted to get done today I can reward myself with some Dont Tell The Bride :D
  • I love the '49 Fridays to go' thing too. OH texts me every Friday with a countdown! My real name is Melanie and i would love to join LauraL's list.

It could take sometime to read all the lovely posts, might have to skim read i think. haha. I only came on to search for MSE tips on making my own invitations. I have finally made a decision to go with a theme - BUTTONS. Just found some inspirational pictures of Button Bouquets . . . . just got to try and copy them now! now back to the search for button invites

Ooo another Melanie (Silaqu = Mel though so that's easy enough for us to differentiate - not like all the pesky Lauras :rotfl:).

That is so sweet that your Groom-to-be, it sounds like he's really looking forward to it - lol somedays I wonder how much MrD is, and how much he's putting up with it for me :rotfl:.

Ooo that is a really nice theme! Lol you could collect all the buttons off all your clothes and stick one on each invite somehow - okay maybe not a great idea lol you wouldn't be able to do any of your clothes up afterwards!
  • Hmm not being able to do my clothes up is an issue i have already!!

I have just sent all my friends a request for cream/ivory/vintage style Buttons so they can all 'contribute' to my bouquet and feel they are part of it too.

Going to design an invite i think and glue some of the buttons on. Just not seen anything i feel confident enough to attempt. Think i might look at our local printing shop for some ideas.

I think I've found a new hobby - trying my ring on! Ha!! I have just tried it on again and it is perfect! (My finger's swelling has gone down since I've been eating sensibly and I'm not over hot). I absolutely love it and I really cannot wait to wear it properly!! :D I have even pretended putting it on a la wedding ceremony - lol MrD is going to have to do some roleplaying with me closer to the date ha! (I don't want that nervous 'oh my god it won't fit' thing at the 'altar'!)

Welcome FutureCooper have added you to the list:) So sweet off your OH to text you every Friday. Love the idea of a Button theme.

Talking about the list - as we are a chatty bunch we may have to start to new thread sometime before July 2012 so i am happy for anyone to take over the list when the time comes!

and Natalie - Laura is a good name to have:p:rotfl:!
oh stop putting your wedding ring you will wear it out!!:rotfl:

LauraR good idea about your hen party and all your wedding bits look fab. Oh and btw if you havn't off guessed i'm the Laura that added you on FB.

I need some help ladies. I've got a pirates theme hen party next weekend. Now i didnt want to spend any money on an outfit that i'm not going to wear again. So i did outfit help! Im thinkin off borrowing my sister top which is black and white strip and maybe black shorts or trousers but i don't think it looks to much like a pirate!!

Also, i've booked for me and mum to get our nails done by the lady i might get to do the wedding make-up.
I also need to find someone to do our hair as my hairdresser is 30miles away and she doesn't come to our house but there would be another lady there to help but i think it would be too much off a rush to get 5peoples hair done then make it back in time to get make-up done.

    Does this help LauraL? http://www.howtodothings.com/family-and-relationships/a3955-how-to-create-a-pirate-costume.html
There are other threads on here offering suggestions for DIYing the pirate look.

Heh heh - see part of me may feel a little bit sad if we start a new thread - lol that is so sad! Any time you want any of us to take over the list just say so Laura :) It doesn't have to be on the first page - just posted periodically like you suggested before :)

That is a shame your hairdresser is so far away (lol same as mine - and I'm starting to have little wobbles about doing my own hair!). Could your hairdresser recommend anyone closer to you/willing to travel?
