Well, since I was last here we've done our notices with the registrar, booked a humanist celebrant told some of our close family, done a spreadsheet of costs (YIKES!).

The only thing we've bought nine square glass storage jars from Poundstretched - 3 for 2.50, hacked off the plastic bits and low and behold we have cute little square vases that Debenhams charge a fortune for :-)

Everybody else's plans here seem so far ahead of us - we must get organised!!
  • Laurar- sending you hugs, its not a nice feeling when you feel like your in competition with someone elses wedding, especially when your on a budget and they arent. Your wedding definately wont look cheap and tacky compared to theirs, it will probably look a lot more personal as youve made things yourself and put a lot of thought into them and nothing will compare to the faces of happiness from you, your husband and your 2 boys. And you can relax on their day thinking 'well they have spent a lot of money and its been a lovely day- but it hasnt been any better or nicer than ours.' And planning is much more fun (or I think so anyway) when your on a budget as your get to shop around more, make things etc.

Thank u for ur very positive views :) they have cheered me up a little. i know im been dramatic and ill get over it. it seams so far away then again i feel like im not going to have enough time to sort things out! arrggghhhhh!!!

anyways.... im going shopping on saturday with my MOH and im hers too so hopefully ill be able to find a dress for her that we both like. i see them online and like them but would rather see it in real and know its right. im sure that will cheer me up we havnt done anything together in a few months. Ill have little one but OH will have our big boy (or big strong boy in his words lol cute) so should be a nice day.

ive had a few emails back saying they dont stock my dress but there are about 4 who havent got back to me yet (fingers crossed someone has one) x

What a boring day we're having!! I'm back home to spend a bit of time with Bun :) and to get some sanity lol. Cadwell is just a big puddle - :( had so much rain which has meant MrD hasn't been out on his bike. Well he did one lap and came in. HOPEFULLY tomorrow is supposed to be better so he can get out and have a play then. Have been sooo bored sat in the truck all day. With no internet nothing lol.

Had a bizzare email off Phase 8 - saying their warehouse quality control team have deemed my dress to be faulty and so have cancelled it. So I went back to their website and have reordered it. Fingers crossed it'll come this time!! Lol I've got it in my head that I really want it now!!

Emma - hurrah for the extra vouchers!!

LauraR - oh yes I remember seeing that guest canvas and thinking it was cool!! Would be a lovely item to have hanging up :)
Rant away!! I agree with everything Emma said about your wedding being more personal. I keep telling myself yes we may be saving money here and there (like not having a photographer) but part of having a MSE wedding is about finding the best value for your money. I have hardly spent anything on my decorations compared to how much they are worth.
I had a little bridezilla thought yesterday - my brother is getting married about 3 weeks after us. I am really happy for him. However he had better not send his invites out before mine!! :rotfl:

Just noticed sickasachip isn't on the front page :(
Hurrah at getting really cheap square vases!! :D Lol I love my spreadsheet - even when I'm not doing anything even remotely weddingy I will often just sit there looking at it lol. I need to get out more!

I have seen how much u saved natalie. everything you have posted on here looks beautiful.

well christening planning is off. no dates left for this year so we are leaving it for now. back on with the wedding it is lol....

aww shame about the weather and it was gorgeous yesterday... we went on holiday in march the week before and the day we arrived it was 20 degree + for the rest of the week it was freezing and rained. (we went to blackpool) bloody typical lol... hope its nicer for you tomorrow.

    xx

Right the dishwasher is just drying (lol I know I know - I'm a lazy moo - but when I had to come home to play with Bun I might as well have brought the pots home from lunch and do them here lol), so I'll be getting off in a minute.

I'm sorry to hear the Christening is being postponed! But yay that you can devote all your time to your wedding lol.
My point about my decorations is hopefully people will see them and think wow she's spend £1000 (or whatever it was), when I clearly didn't. The same will be true for everything you've got planned. While being intimate and personal and not vulgar 'just cause you can'.

Right love you and leave you all.
Hope you have a lovely Friday.
    xx
