Well I got home at 3pm - haven't yet caught up properly in here - will do that after Yoga.

But thought I'd share this with you all. This is the necklace that I bought in Brighton. Hopefully it'll go with the dress and not hang too low. (This shows it off much better than the photo on the website!). Oh and I have got clothes on in the photo lol.

My mum is so naughty - I've just got a cheque off her. The original agreement was I would pay the price for the cheaper dress (£250) and she would pay the difference for my wonderful dress. When we put the deposit down we split the cost - she paid some and I paid some. Today I got a cheque for the whole lot that's left to pay not just her part. Naughty woman!! :) I am grinning like a cheshire cat!

Right e o - just waiting for tea to cook so I thought I'd give you all my attention and write a proper response to you all. Now bear in mind - I will write this as your posts came up - lol you may have answered some of my questions in later posts.

WARNING - this is a long post lol. (I had to stop and go have tea half way through!! Been writing this for about an hour!)

Laura3 - that sucks about your table centres you were thinking about being too expensive. Have noticed you've since said you want to do them yourself. Any piccies? :)
Did you manage to get some cake quotes?
The Race for life was 'just' 5k:) Next year I'm entering my first 10k - lol the saddist in me is looking forward to it!
Sounds like you had a good time designing invites. :) Any piccies? :)
Ooo how exciting - getting bespoke bridesmaid dresses - lol and yep you guessed it any piccies?

LauraL - did you get your chair covers and balloons organised?
(And yes please I think every now and then, say every school holiday or something, you could re-post our list- cor isn't it growing!)
Your idea for your honeymoon sounds great - spend some time as a family, but also some time just the two of you. Perfect!
Have you managed to tick off any of your wedding tasks that you listed? (Go through wedding folder, Decided on wedding invite design, Chair covers, balloons, Hair and make-up).
Great that your photographer has given you some pre-wedding photos to have a look at - lol help you to perfect that just married pose :)
Oh I really like those bridesmaids shoes :) Lol but then I would do - they are strappy sandaly shoes! :D

OzMel (ooo another Mel - now this could get interesting/confusing) - my skin is awful - one thing I plan on doing this summer hols is getting myself back to the docs to have a full year of getting on top of it. My problem is not only do I get the spots but my skin takes an age to heal - Cuts, grazes anything, it always takes a long time, so the redness of spots seem to last for months and months.
Cor you've got loads sorted/planned :) Have you got your dress sorted? Photos?

Mel - that really sucks about your Husband to be having to wait for parents to see if they wanted time off during the holidays - you'd have thought just this one time they could make an exception to the rule - it is after all your honeymoon!!
Hurrah for mums and their cheques!! :) Have you decided on your honeymoon yet? I'm actually a step closer - thanks to a recommendation on the overseas board I think we're going to do a normal beach holiday at the red sea and do a few days diving while were there - and then do a liveaboard when it's out 5/10 year anniversary. I have found a 4 star hotel that will do us both all inclusive, including named seats, and inflight meals for £1250 - so I'm just going to wait till we're qualified divers so we're certain we want a diving honeymoon and then I will book it :)

Emma - yep the cream shoes really were lovely - But they just weren't the right colour - and I think that niggle would stay with me. Lol I would have kept them regardless though but the sensible head on my shoulders said no - send them back get a refund and buy a different pair of shoes not ones you already have but in a different colour. I have my eye on a pair of irregular choice patty shoes that I want for work in September so by sending them back I won't feel guilty for buying them. Or that pretty monsoon dress I showed on here before. (Am off to Lincoln on Thursday so will go and see if the Lincoln store has it in to try on).
Yaaaay cake trial tomorrow - really hope it goes well for you.
Has your mum started your invites yet? Lol we want piccies!
And yes you did say it was a lovely necklace :p
So what was the verdict about honeymoon insurance and names?

Sickasachip - hope it goes well telling your families!! :) Spreadsheets are fun aren't they (lol or is that just me) - I think I've shared my categories and budget before on here but if I haven't and you'd like to see what mine looks like just shout :) The key is to sort out what is important to you and that you don't want to scrimp on, and what you really don't care about which can be left out if needed. So far I have spent £858.14, but this has given me £1467.3 worth of stuff (not including the money my mum has spent on my dress).

Tracey - oh no that you've developed really bad morning sickness :( Really hope it passes soon. Is it 'behaving' itself and only lasting the morning? Someone I knew felt nauseous nearly all day - that must be miserable! How was the Norwegian fjords? :) Any piccies?
I hope your travel agent is able to help you reorganise your honeymoon. You'd have thought given the time they'd return your deposit - it's not like they'd have too much difficulty re-selling it! It'd be different if you wanted to change it the week before the honeymoon!
Great news that you have your scan date now! :) How exciting!! Are you going to find out what sex your baby is or will it be too soon?

LauraR - :( sorry to read that you haven't been well. Good that you are on medicine though - I'm sure that will help. And what a good boy you have - sleeping well - I hope that you're able to use that time to relax a bit yourself.
You're right I can't wait till my wedding ring comes!! Lol I will be trying it on loads - I will also make MrD practice putting it on during the vows lol. I must try to make sure my hands aren't hot and swollen so it slips on nice and easily lol.
  • Hey lovelies!

You have all been busy! Nothing more to report from me on the wedding front, it's been ridiculously sunny here for a change so I've been making the most of it and having a good clear out in prep for going back to school! (only 3 weeks - eek!)

I have joined weight watchers tonight though, so that's a step forward in losing tgd 10lbs I want to shift before I buy my dress!

I'm going to run now as I'm exhausted from all the fresh air and cleaning! Lol!

Catch you all in the next day or 2! Xx

Cleaning - don't you just love it!!

Well I have weighed myself today - after my long weekend away and I have only put on 0.5lbs - which is a miracle - I am so pleased with my self control. Now I can't say the same about today - it's MrD's birthday which means a Dominos tonight... and I'm baking some cupcakes with buttercream icing and crushed choccies on top. Will have to be an angel tomorrow and Friday to make up for it ready for my weigh in on Saturday. My biggest problem is always staying motivated for these last few pounds - I seem to tell myself well it's only 3lbs (when actually it's 6lbs to my official target), and what does it matter if it takes a while to shift them. Silly me. Anyway I'm going for a run today - really looking forward to it after the slight disappointment of not running the Portsmouth's Race For Life.

Hope you all have a good day.

Not sorted the dress yet - I live in a small town in Oz so going away with a friend for a weekend in 3 weeks to a big bridal fair. She's getting married same month as me so it will be giggly and silly and fun I hope!
I hope the doctor can be of help with your skin - let me know what advice she/he gives!

I haven't been to the docs but 'all' I need is the same hormone that is in my implant but in a pill form. By double dosing it stops my periods and I 'miraculously' don't get any spots :) I don't know if a year without periods is do able though :) lol. (Dreams). It's bloody (lol) annoying though - cause I've been spotting now for about two months since I had my implant swapped (not unusual - did it last time I had it changed), I just need to get my bum to the docs!

Oooo how exciting that you have someone to share your excitement and weddinginess with :D Other than us of course.
