We are nearly all teachers/schooly people on here lol! Trying to squeeze our weddings into the holidays! My OH nearly couldn't get time off for it because his workplace are funny about giving non-parents time off in the holidays - he tried to book it nearly two years in advance and was told that he would have to wait till the parents had had first dibs on the school holiday dates
My mum bless her has just given me a cheque for £500 towards the honeymoon
xx
That's lovely of your mum to contribute towards the honeymoon! Where are you thinking of going?
We haven't decided.Seeking the champagne lifestyle on a cider budget!

VERY quick post - (Cor you lot have been chatty!)
I have made the decision - I am going to wear my silver sandal shoes not the cream ones - will send the cream ones back on Wednesday when I get home. I have just bought a necklace while we were wandering around Brighton that will tie in with my silver shoes.

What do you guys think? (It is a lovely necklace!!)
Now I just want to go try on my dress again with my shoes and necklace!0 -
Welcome Workinginoz- we are very chatty, friendly, excited wedding obsesses (well I am anyway!!) bunch on this thread. Where in the UK are you getting married?
I think Im one of the very few on here who isnt a teacher/ work in a school!! But my oh has set annual leave which is the 1st 2 weeks of Aug so thats why we went for 28th so we can go straight on honeymoon!:D Luckily my work is fine with leave and its a first come first served kind of approach rather than favouring those who have children.
Oh MrsD- Im amazed youll be parting with the cream ones, but the silver ones are just as nice- and the necklace is very nice. Good luck with the Portsmouth race for life tomorrow.
Oh Mel thats fab news about your mum contributing to the honeymoon. Do you know where you are going yet? Oh are you hoping to go to a theme park somewhere (ok I know it will be more than that buts thats all I can remember!:rotfl:)
My cake trial is delayed until weds- I just want to try some cake!! (stomps feet!!!)0 -
Evening all!!
Hope you've all had a lovely day in the sunshine? More of the same tomorrow apparently - happy days!
Pinkprincess what kind of cake are you thinking of? I've found the design I want, but we went into our local town the other day to get some quotes from local bakers and they were all closed! It's like living in the dark ages here sometimes!
MrsD - The necklace is beautiful! Is it the shoes you posted the pics of that you're sending back?! You love them so much? Good luck for your race for life - what distance is it?
I've had a quiet, but productive day! Met one of my bridesmaids to look at ideas for invitations and have decided on a design, and we're going to make them between us. Her mum has taken up card making as a hobby, the things she comes up with are amazing, and she's planning on giving us a wee helping hand which is great! And will hopefully save a little bit of money!
I've also been looking into making my table centres myself, the idea I want is very simple, and my bridesmaid mum was really helpful in suggesting places I'd be able to buy the things I'd need at a reasonable price!
I've also picked the design I want for my bridesmaids dresses, I haven't seen anything like it in the shops though so my next task is to find a dress maker!
Happy planning ladies - hope you're all having a good weekend!

So, looking at the first page, these are my date twins, or should that be quadruplets with me as well?

I really don't know where to start. I've got a spreadsheet together and scared myself about the cost of everything. Our families still don't know - over the next three weeks this bit will be done. This coming week I must get my beautiful engagement ring in for alteration as it's a little too big.0 -

Just so you all know I finished the Portsmouth's Race For Life.
