Yaaaaaaaay I have a date twin!!
Welcome Workinginoz (Do you have a real name?) I agree this site is brilliant for MSE ideas!!
Well this afternoon I'm going on my road tripI was going to be leaving at 10 but my friend isn't going to be home till 6:30pm so I'm going to leave here at 1pm.
My plans - have breakfast in a minute, let that settle then do some arm toning exercise, finish packing and head off. I have weighed in a day early and some how miraculously I have lost all the weight I gained following the weekend of naughties after dress shopping plus a little bit more. So since 9th May I have lost 19lbs!! Lol I am expecting a little gain next week after being away from home and not in control of my own food. But I'm now 3lbs above where I want to be on our wedding day (and where I want to be when we go wet suit shopping at the end of August).
Right breakfast time0 -
Yay the sun is out so while I wait for my breakfast to settle I'll take some photos of my shoes

Well done MrsD! That's an amazing weight loss! Have you done it yourself or were you following a more formal diet? Your shoes are beautiful btw, they weren't coming up for me yesterday! What's your dress like?
Hi working in Oz!sounds like you've made a good start to the planning - and very MSE too! I'm meeting my bridesmaid and her mum to look at invites etc tomoz, I almost don't like to though as she hasnt given me prices and I'm worried it'll be really expensive and I'll be obligated to take them!
Mrs D - what are the wetsuits for? And how come the wedding/reception are different days? Thanks for finding me the UK link - doh!
Another 2 dress shops for me today! I'm on a mission to find "the one" by next week!

Sorry Tracy3 - I didn't see you post this inbetween meI wasn't deliberately ignoring you
Dietwise - yes I follow a 'proper' diet lol. I am a finalist of Tesco Diets slimmer of the year 2009
I had lost 3st 12lbs - but I had been a little bit naughty over Christmas/Easter and had put a little (about 1st7lbs eeek) back on.... but I have been eating properly, and more importantly exercising daily again and it's coming off
Basically I eat meat and two veg
I will PM you with a link to my dress - lol I'm not showing it on here just incase there are eyes
The wetsuits are for when we go to learn how to scuba dive on our 'pre-honeymoon' in October half term, ready for our actual honeymoon where we plan to go diving.
Our things are on two dates because:
We met on the 17th July 1999 so I've always said if we were to marry I want to get married on that date. So when he finally agreed to marry me (Feb 2010) we could have either have gotten married (realistically to give us time to organise it) this year or next year. As we'd planned to have the reception at our house, we need the extra year to get our house in a fit state (Feb 2011 we finally got central heating put in after being without it for 2-3 years, and only having partial heating in the back half of the house prior to that). So that means we'd get married on 17th July 2012... which falls on a Tuesday during term time. Being a teacher makes it difficult.
So we said we'd do the ceremony and a little BBQ afterwards for our immediate family - grandparents, parents, siblings, and their children - on the Tuesday. But then we'd have a bigger party to invite our wider family and close friends on the Saturday when it'd be easier for people to travel to get to us.
It is working out brilliantly. Cause on the Tuesday I will only have to worry about looking good and getting me ready. (I have the day off unpaid). My last school day is the Wednesday. So that then gives me Thursday & Friday to get the house/garden decorated, and Saturday to sort the buffet out before the party on the Saturday
PLUS this way I get to wear my dress and shoes twice lol.
Hope you find 'the one' soon!

So now to get my bum in gear and do some more planning for the wedding but at the moment i would prefer to sleep!:rotfl:0 -
Lauralou are you a teacher too? I slept for practically the first week of my hols - can't believe it's only 3 weeks 'til I'm back! Saw your sig - congrats on the pregnancy!
Mrs.D sounds awesome to make it last a few days, if we had a house I'd love to have had a massive garden party!
Got an email back on the table centres I was thinking of, they START at £35 each - pffft!!!0 -
Laura3 - i'm a pre-school teacher and thanks for the congrats - still doesnt seem real yet!
I think the first things i'm going to do is chair covers and balloons.
Just had a thought ladies. Did you want me to occasionally post the list of the weddings thats on the front page?0 -

Same date - cool! We can do a countdown ha ha.
Sounds like you are working hard to get in shape for the big day. I need to start getting fit again but my real issue is my dull unreliable skin. Time to sort it out once and for all!
I hope you enjoy your road trip.Crap_with_money.com wrote: »Hi working in Oz!

Thanks also! I hope the meeting worked out with the invites. I was quoted $450 here for a full wedding stationery package for a small wedding of 50 people. That's about 360 pounds - nevermind postage!
You can't personalise as much but I found a design I liked so vistaprint were great for me. All in it will cost me less than 80 pounds I reckon - but I will keep a tally on the price and see.Welcome workinginoz

Thanks Lauralou
Are you a teacher as well? We are both teachers but i's our winter holiday so we're taking extended leave without pay to have enough time for wedding prep, family time, honeymoon weekend etc in UK & Ireland.
Going to a bridal fair in August to start the dress hunt - although I do have an idea of what I'd like.
Good luck with your wedding dress hunt!Seeking the champagne lifestyle on a cider budget!

We are nearly all teachers/schooly people on here lol! Trying to squeeze our weddings into the holidays! My OH nearly couldn't get time off for it because his workplace are funny about giving non-parents time off in the holidays - he tried to book it nearly two years in advance and was told that he would have to wait till the parents had had first dibs on the school holiday dates
My mum bless her has just given me a cheque for £500 towards the honeymoon
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0
