Tried them on to show MrD - lol pretty pointless really as he hasn't and won't see the dress before the big day. On my feet they don't look quite so yellow. I *might* see if I can pop into my bridal shop next week when I'm back from my friends and hold them up next to my dress... but that won't necessarily be a fair test because they won't be sat next to each other when I wear them. Lol although they are really lovely I'm tempted to keep them anyway - lol I haven't told MrD that!!
They'd look FAB with a pair of skinny jeans and a little top
May see what they are like next to my bouquet...
ooo I can see a photo coming on for you guys - but the lighting here is rubbish - overcast and getting to dark.0 -
Natalie:j at the shoes arriving- I reckong unless they are drastically different no one would notice it the shade is slightly different- I bet they will look fab!
Well I sent a message around last night about my hen do and I have text a few people who arent on facebook so hopefully Ill be able to book that soon, so far ive had (including me) 7 yes, 1 very unlikely, and a few non replies so I reckon I should get a few more yes replies, Ive given people plenty of notice to save and most people seem to be up for it anyway so :jI cant wait! Roll on May!!:rotfl:0 -
That is great news Emma!! :T Remind us - what have you got planned?
I have put the shoes directly next to the white of the bouquet - and yes they are yellowy especially in the artificial light from our light bulbs - BUT the yellow in the middle of the white gerberas actually set them off nicely - so I'm almost certain they will be the shoes. They are lovely and the sparkly bits are just perfect (incase I haven't already said).0 -
Hi ladies!
I'm back - and with an apology! I dropped in a few weeks ago when I was in a wedding planning panic, you lovely ladies all made me very welcome - I haven't been back since! I hope you'll forgive me??Lol!
I've read the last page or so - looks as though all of your plans are coming along just nicely!
We've been trying to scale back a tad and reign in the costs of our wedding, so we've had a change of date. We'll now be getting married on the 20th of July instead of the 14th next year, which should save us at least £2k as we're able to reduce the number of guests. Finding my dream dress is my project for the minute (well, I think I've found it - but I'm booked into another few shops over the next week just to be sure!).
I'm also planning on having an Art Deco theme, of a sorts at least! So am trying to get my head around how I'll make it work! Anyone else having a theme?
I'll try and drop in a bit more often and keep up with all of your plans!

Welcome back Laura3
Oh that is good - that you're managing to reduce your costs by £2000!! That is a great saving so well done!!Lol do you realise it is now less than 1 year to your wedding?!
(And LauraR - it's less than a year till yours, LauraL and Mel - this time next year you'll be getting ready for your weddings, and I'll be running round like a headless chicken trying to get everything ready for our party!).
What is your 'it-could-be-the-one-but-I-just-want-to-try-a-few-more-on-to-make-sure' dress like? Photos? When are you going to try some more on?
I'm not having a theme as such - just a colour scheme - Not sure what I would have if I was going to have one. A bit ago (like within the last 6 months) someone was designing art deco invites - perhaps do a search on here and see if you can find them and whether that'd help you.
Yaaaaaaaay - no more get ups!! (Today is my last day at school until 5th September!) :T0 -
Welcome back Laura3 (hope you dont mind being called Laura3 but we already have a LauraL and LauraR!)
Thats such a lot of saving just by changing the date by a few days.
Well the year countdown has started for a few of you now- I still have another week- not fair!! hehe!
Im not having a theme, I will just tie everything together with my colour scheme- pink obviously!!:rotfl:Art Deco sounds fab.
Natalie- Im going for a butlins adults weekend, wasnt 100% sure and the curious george convinced me to go for it!!0 -
Good morning!
Laura3's absolutely fine! Lol!
What is an adults weekend at Butlins? I had been thinking on a Murder Mystery weekend at a hotel Dunoon, but I've decided to pass the baton back to my lovely bridesmaids and let them get on with it.
The dress I like is:
http://www.morilee.com/bridals/blu/4816
I felt like a princess in it, the only niggle I have is that it's not Art Deco even in the slightest! Lol! But I've said from the beginning that I didn't want it to be like a fancy dress party so I might go more for Art Deco "inspired" rather than a theme! Lol! I also found a website last night who are selling the dress for £340 less than in the shop I'd seen it, I emailed them to ask why it's so much cheaper and they said it's purely because they're on-line only and don't offer a fitting service? I'm still a bit nervous though!
I'm going dress shopping today, tomorrow and next Thu so I'm hoping to make a final decision by then!
Xx
Ps what do the shoes look like??0 -
Pps pinkprincess (love the name btw!!) we changed the date because it meant we could use the smaller room in our venue and therefor invite less people. Our guest list is now 90 all day and 130 in the evening, where the min day guests for the bigger room is 115 @£75 a head. We had quite a few people on the list who were only really being invited to make up the numbers so they've been bumped to evening guests - sounds harsh I know but it's such a big saving moneywise we couldn't afford a conscience really! Lol!
Natalie - are you a teacher?0 -
Hi Laura, welcome back
I am rubbish with names so am bound to forget that hehe. That's a nice dress - I always wonder with those dresses how people actually dance with their husbands - they look so structured I don't get how people get close to them without squashing it all? Is the front bit more 'floppy' iyswim? I really like the shape of the bodice. I don't think it matters that the clothes are not Art Deco inspired if you use that as your decor theme.
Another thing - why do wedding dress sites never have prices? So annoying?
Well the first thing my oh said to me this morning was "happy minus one anniversary!" lol he is so pathetic sometimes I wonder if I'm the man in this relationship :rotfl: bless him.
It's my sister's graduation today so we are going out for a meal later - I'm currently trying to motivate myself to do some exercise so I can eat something a bit more exciting than a salad lol!
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Ha ha! Are you on a pre-wedding diet Silaqui? I haven't got the motivation to get started!
I've been trying to get out running but haven't been since Monday!
Our -1 was yesterday, we had actually booked to go to our wedding venue for a meal, but we decided to stay home instead and get a take away to save some money! Lol! I'm glad now we did as we spent the night on-line and chose mine and the girls flowers, table centres, our favours and cake! So it was quite a productive night!
The dress isn't actually rigid at all, part of what I liked about it is the way it kind of flows when I walk in it!
