Crap_with_money.com wrote: »Ha ha! Are you on a pre-wedding diet Silaqui? I haven't got the motivation to get started!
I've been trying to get out running but haven't been since Monday!
Our -1 was yesterday, we had actually booked to go to our wedding venue for a meal, but we decided to stay home instead and get a take away to save some money! Lol! I'm glad now we did as we spent the night on-line and chose mine and the girls flowers, table centres, our favours and cake! So it was quite a productive night!
The dress isn't actually rigid at all, part of what I liked about it is the way it kind of flows when I walk in it!
Xx
Oh thats good, I guess it's the way they style them too that makes it look that way - I suppose they have to show off the skirt properly don't they.
I'm always on a diet but I never actually do anything about it lol - but I broke up for the summer last friday and decided to start doing it properly this summer holiday. So far (it's only been three days :rotfl:) I've done well with the help of this site - myfitnesspal.com.
I struggle with motivation too but it has really made the difference for me, because it works out how many calories you can have to hit your goal, then you do a food diary and it gives you a countdown. And you get extra calories to eat of you exercise lol! It's free and they have phone apps too so you can do it on the move! I just like the fact that you can see what you have eaten and stuff.
What has surprised me is how much you can actually eat when you eat healthily!
I've just weighed myself on the wii and have apparently lost 3lb since monday, hey so it's probably water weight but I'll take what I can get lol!
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Laura3 that dress is stunning!!!! i love it.. its the 1st dress ive seen and thought WOW!!!!
well ive just been weighed and lost a stone with having Logan so i need to lose 2 1/2 - 3stone in less then a year.... if i can lost 1 1/2 by xmas ill be happy. i cant wait to go dress shopping!
this time next year ill be a Mrs.... eek!!!! x0 -
That dress is stunning. The only thing I would be wary about is making sure that the dresses arent copies- Im not sure how you could find out but i hopefully someone will reply to your thread.
I am going to start being really good from the year countdown, I am not going to set a huge target, ill start with a stone and will then see how I feel- I need to the concentrate on maintaining. I know I can do it as Ive done it before.
An adult weekend is 3 nights at the resort- for a themed weekend ie 80s, 70s etc- some people woud hate it but I think it would be such a giggle.0 -
Cor you lot have been chatty today!! Well I have officially broken up for school - the watch is off and will not be going back on till the 4th September - hurrah!! OMG just think when I do go back it'll be only 10-11 months till our weddings!! Yaaaaaaay!!
Emma - oh yes I remember the Butlins weekend nowSome girls from our office went on a 60s one at Skeg a few months back and had a wonderful time!! I have said next time they go I will have to join them! Lol think they are planning on going on a jolly somewhere the first weekend of our Christmas hols - I bet by that point our finances will be so stretched that I won't be able to go
... I will try my hardest though
Laura3 - that dress is gorgeous!! Love the way the skirt cascades down! Ooo I'd be sooo scared of buying something as big as a wedding dress online - which is crazy really as I buy pretty much everything else off the internet (from things like my shoes obviously, through to our boiler and heating tank!!) What is their returns policy like? Just incase it comes and for one reason or another it isn't right? Could you email Morilee and ask if this website is an official stockist? If it is then you could be more reassured that it isn't a knock off.
The shoes I've got are these ones:
But they look really pale there - they are a yellowier cream than that photo shows. If the sun shines tomorrow I will take a couple of real life photos of them (if I have time before I drive down to Rustington). If not it'll have to wait till I get back next week
I think those reasons, Laura3, for going with a smaller room is really sensible. Like you said - you were inviting people who you didn't really want to just to bump up the numbers. Definitely makes sense to me.
Wow you got loads organised last night!!
And yep I'm a teacherlol what gives it away? All the counting down to the holidays?
Mel - awww what a lovely thing for your Husband to be to say to you (happy minus 1 anniversary). Lol I didn't dare remind MrD that it was exactly one year till our wedding - or actually that it's now less than a year to go come to think of it - just incase it started him panicking lol.
Well done on the 3lbs - and whilst true it may not all be fat - I like to think that it's a reward for actually sticking to eating sensibly and exercising regardless!! It is sooo hard to start these things I always find. Once I've got into it I'm usually very good at keeping myself motivated because I think to myself why undo all the hard work I've been doing. But when it's that first week or two, and the old habits are still so raw I find it incredibly hard.
I'm going to be weighing in a day early tomorrow cause I won't have my scales with me at my friends. I hope to be less than 5lbs to target - which I can then have a bit of leeway over the next few weeks so that by the time it's August payday I can be at target and go wetsuit shoppping!!
LauraR - that time scale and amount is definitely do able. When I was losing my big weight (lol I'm now just losing a little bit I'd put back on) I lost 3st 12 in 8 months. So definitely do able. But do be careful in the first few months etc if you're breast feeding.
Right all this talk of being 'good' it's exercise time for me0 -

Mrs D - that is a small stroke of genius! According to their website they haven't any UK stockists, but that obviously isn't true since I've tried one of their dresses on! Lol!
I'm a teacher too - I guess they issue you with a 6th sense along with the teaching qualification!
Thanks pinkprincess and Laura - I thought it was pretty stunning last week too - confused now though! ha ha!
Pinkprincess I'd like to shift a wee bit before my wedding too (don't imagine there are many brides who wouldn't!) - I'm not as realistic as you though, if I'm good for 3 days - I expect results!OH and I made a pact that we wouldn't eat out or have any more take aways between now and the wedding (literally a full year - Eek!!) it was meant more so to help save money, but I'm hoping it might help my waistline too!!
Hope you're all having a good night
xx
Went to 3 dress shops today - ah the confusion!! So many pretty dresses and just the one day to wear them on!0 -
Oops - not sure what happened to my last post! That last statement seems to have taken a wee jump to itself!0

Well, that's it the countdown begins.... in one year's time I'll be slightly tipsy (!) and dancing with my 'husband' (that sounds weird).
Mrs Drink, you are so organised, you make me feel slightly nervous about my lack of organisation!!!0 -
Lol Laura3 - you could do what I'm doing have your ceremony one day and a reception on another day - but rather than having the one dress to wear on both days you could have two dresses... and then you could have lots of different receptions - one for your family, one for his, one for your friends, one for his, one for your work colleagues, one for his, one for everyone - just think of how many pretty dresses you'd need (lol best not to think about the cost).
Oh that is strange about their stockists - cause one of the bridal shops I was looking at was a stockist too - I recognised the name!!
*edit* lol thats cause you were looking at their USA site.. if you go to http://www.morilee.eu/ and go to the bottom of the page you'll find a link to search for stockists. They do have a contact form/phone number though that you could ask them about that online retailer. Interestingly on their FAQ they don't recommend buying from an online shop.
Hope that helps.

I have been looking at honeymoons tonight - the latest thought is to go somewhere off the usual track (so not a greek island lol) - have thought about Croatia - it's about the same price for flights/accommodation as greece. The only part I'm not so sure about is what the diving would be like so I'm waiting to get registered on a diving forum to ask them - stupid activation email hasn't worked. Found somewhere that we could go to on the 23rd July 2012 for a week (wedding is 17th, party is 21st) for £760 in total. Far cheaper than a liveaboard which we'd definitely do for our 5/10th year anniversary0 -
Hello all
I am a long time browser of these forums but have never registered! Got engaged a few weeks ago and we have set a date for 17th July 2012.
Am getting very excited and I am enjoying finding cheaper ways of doing things
Working in Australia at the moment (due to the economy) but coming home to the UK for our wedding, so I am basically organising my entire wedding online!
First thing has been to use Vistaprint for the invites and other wedding stationery. I am basically using their free offers and ordering a little bit at a time.
I used their free postcard offer to design my invites, so got the basic 100 for free, with a little extra for the delivery, double sided printing and matchjing envelopes.
I'll be doing the same for placecards and menus as the offers are emailed to me.
This forum is great for ideas!Seeking the champagne lifestyle on a cider budget!
