July 2012 Brides and Grooms

Wow, this is a busy thread - engagements, weddings, births etc etc!
I'm getting married on July 21st, 3pm.
No-one knows yet as we want to tell our families face to face and the opportunity hasn't come up. So I have an engagement ring that I can't wear!!0 -
See I'm not too bad with changes in pressure - I don't have any pain in a plane - I can make my ears pop quite happily - I'm hoping I can replicate this when I'm diving!! I didn't have any problems going to 5m in Rhodes - but gone to 18 may be different!
The biggest problem I have now with my ears is I swear I have funny shaped ear canals cause I get such a build up of ear wax that if I don't clean my ears out I can block my own ear by just 'popping' the little pointy bit that covers the hole with my finger! Lol perhaps too much info!0 -
Oh I can soooo empathise with you sickasachip!! MrD actually agreed to marry me in Feb half term, but it wasn't till Easter that I saw my mum to tell her and obviously I didn't want to tell anyone until our parents had been told
Lol have you been wearing your lovely ring around the house or do you not dare just incase you get an unexpected visitor?!
21st July looks really popular - there are a number of us getting married that day and then here is me - having my 'reception' party on that night as well!0 -
I haven't even dared to wear it around the house, in case I forget and go off to a friend's house or something and give the game away. Honestly, I'm fit to pop with excitement. It's about another three weeks before we can gather the respective clans and tell them!
I'm glad July 21st is popular - if loads of us are wishing for good weather we might have a better chance!0 -
I forgot to say - Michelle - I hope you have a wonderful time away.. and I agree you could probably make one of those daisy garlands yourself - but if it as only £2 then why bother? Lol
Last night MrD's mum began to do my head in - fretting over a) the weather and how we're going to fit everyone in our house (when I thought we'd agreed *if* it rains we'll move the party to her house) and b) how I'm going to fit all the buffet stuff on our kitchen worktops... I sincerely hope the next year goes quickly - either that or she stops fretting - lol not sure I can manage another year of this!0 -
Sickasaship (sorry if youve told us your name, I have the worst memory!!), lets hope the next 3 weeks go quickly then so you can wear your pretty sparkley ring.:D
Natalie- I used to be bad with loud noises (I was the kid at fireworks night with my mum covering my ears so the loud bangs didnt hurt my ears) but im fine now, it is just popping that im rubbish with!! (thank goodness for earplanes!!)
Well in my boredom ive been looking at gatwick hotels as we may go up the night before our honeymoon as it doesnt work out much different in price, just need to make a decision and book somewhere! I really must sort out holiday insurance aswell!0 -
I am jealous - lol I can't wait till we come back from our diving course in October to book our honeymoon! My latest thought is to say sod it - we'll go on a boat for a week - but instead of working our butts off to get enough dives in prior to going we'll just either hire a 'guide' to dive specifically with MrD and I or we'll complete the advanced course in the first three days of the holiday.0

Ok I want something weddingy to do. Lol. MrD is going to work this morning so I'll have the house to myself... ooo what to do what to do. Light levels aren't great for photograph as it is absolutely peeing it down outside. But I might take some photos of the bouquet and buttonholes.
Actually I *might* sort out my office/wedding room0 -
So far this morning I have:
* Sorted through all my photocopied worksheets in my office - into recycling and file piles. Recycling have gone into the wheely bin, file pile has stayed well as a pile - one day I may work my way up to putting these back into my folders.
* Put on a load of darks - including my running capri pants and bright pink running top ready for tomorrow's race.
* Put said darks onto radiators (it's still raining here), put the heating on and opened all the windows lol.
* Wrapped up MrD's '12 year anniversary' gift and wrote his card. Cannot wait to give it to him tomorrow cause then the real count down can begin.
I'm now charging up my iPod and Nike + sports band ready for tomorrow's run. The race starts at 11, which is when Accuweather is saying the rain is going to start tomorrow. Lol. Still it'll beats running in 27+ degree heat!0
