Well I have spent this morning re-creating my stationery photo - but the sun wasn't shining so they were all coming out far duller than the one I've already taken. The reason I wanted to redo it is because the frayed ribbon part has really been standing out like a sore thumb - lol to me anyway. In the end I've used paint and 'trimmed' the ribbon. REALLY pleased with the outcome, you have to blow it up so much that the letters on the invite look pixelated in order to see the pixels of where I've trimmed the ribbon. Was it worth it? Well in my eyes absolutely. I showed MrD a before and after photo - told him to spot the difference lol and the !!!!!! had no idea what I'd done lol. So obviously in his eyes the frayed ribbon didn't detract from the photo in the first place pmsl.

And now for some Don't tell the Bride (I've got three weeks to catch up on!)

Hahaha it's so funny how something that means so much to you has absolutely no significance to other people... I redesigned part of our school website a while back and changed the font from Comic Sans (YUK YUK YUK) to Elementary SF which looks far more professional. Nobody has noticed pmsl!

No wedding news here, I've just been taking some photos of stuff to put on ebay to raise a bit of spare cash. Money seems to be very tight at the minute and I've had to pay out for car tax as well. I am getting increasingly aware of the fact that I haven't saved anywhere near as much as I was hoping to, and I also haven't been good on my diet at all... Can somebody send me some motivation please??? I tend to get more motivated the closer my deadline is, but in the case of the wedding it's not really possibly to get the willpower 2 weeks before!

On a positive note, I start doing exam marking this week so that'll be £450 towards the wedding fund when I eventually get paid for it.

Re: being a bit sneakily jealous of family members - my sister and her bf have just put an offer in on a house - and she's 5 years younger than me :( I'm still renting and got no hope of buying anytime soon because we need to save a deposit. She lived at home all through uni and managed to save up, as has her bf, whereas I've been renting here. I did save up about 3k not long after I left uni, but then OH came to live with me, ended up losing his job so all my savings went on keeping us both and I've never built them back up. I am really, really happy for her, but at the same time insanely jealous!! I never thought I'd be still renting at 26. I don't wanna still be here when I'm 30 :(

Anyway enough doom and gloom! It's just gone really dark outside, think it's gonna chunk it down in a minute. I love rainstorms!
    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Oh I hate Comic Sans - what is with 'education' deeming that to be an acceptable font?! (I know it has a true 'a' but still I hate it!! Much prefer Century Gothic!! (The font I used on our stationery).

As for the dieting willpower thing. I 'work' well when I've got a goal/sight in mind. I tend to set myself something to work towards - like if I'm 'good' for so many weeks/so many pounds off then I will treat myself to something I wouldn't just buy/get regardless. I've had things from shoes to a back massage before. At the moment I'm working towards my Mac goodies that I got in the week. (I'm not allowed to use them until I've lost 0.5 more pounds). It helps me. :) I can't do long term things. (I think the fact I've been 'good' for 6 weeks so far is because in 6 weeks time I'll be trying dresses on (have I already mentioned that?! Lol actually in 6 weeks to this time I will have been to one bridal shop, been for lunch with my mum to discuss the dresses so far, and be trying on dresses in the second shop. Yaaaaay!

I'm still sat here watching Don't tell the bride - on the Charlie and the Chocolate factory one now. What I want to know is how come these brides have the perfect portioned bodies and that their dresses fit perfectly first time without any big bull dog clips or anything holding it in place? Lol.

Scrap that - my faith in nature has been restored. Watching the 'greek wedding' Don't tell the bride - and she had bulldog clips (well not quite) pulling the dress in! Hurrah!

Well I have just cut up 56 pieces of string - and put them all inside a book to straighten lol. The hearts aren't heavy enough to pull the string straight on their own... will have a look at them in the summer holidays and see what happens. (I was thinking of using ribbon but I'd need so much of it bog standard string was cheaper lol)

Well done Natalie- you are doing so well- you seem to have so much willpower. Well my weigh in will be monday and i will be a bit tad disappointed if I havent lost anything!!

Well I saw my real dad last night (he isnt local and I havent seen him for a couple of years, just talk on the phone about once a month) and told him the date is set and that ive asked my stepdad to give me away- and he took the news suprisngly ok, I was dreading telling him but it was ok in the end.

Im sure on dont tell the bride they must give approx measurements and then have the dress adjusted slightly before they get the dress and then just any tweaks once theyve seen it.

Mel- I know what you mean about money, it seems that all the expensive things come at once, and just as I was thinking we dont have anything big to pay for this month (Feb-May are so expensive for us) we realise we need 2 new tyres for one of the cars so thats goodbye to £150.:( Luckily the wedding account is ok as we have a seperate account which we pay a small amount into each month and as weve had out date for so long its slowly building up.

Good luck with the invite making!!

    Ooo you have been busy!!

Oh wow those shoes are fabulous!!! They are in fact a must have - so buy them NOW!! Who cares if you wear them on your wedding day - you can wear them for a night out - yep yep yep - buy buy buy!

Lovely bridesmaid dresses too!! Very impressed indeed!!

Suits - I am sooo glad I've passed the buck on that one to MrD's mum - and we're only getting him a suit. His dad can wear the one he has.

ooo so where is the venue?

I have spend the morning looking at jam jar tea light holders lol. Thanks to the Candy Buffet thread I have placed an order with Asda for some smallish jam jars £10 for 12 (including delivery as they're coming with my usual order). Have got some left over tissue paper from wrapping our keepsake box (which I'm not sure if I will end up using afterwards, as I'm taking photos of EVERYTHING to put in the photo album, but thats a whole other story). I *think* I will use some PVA Glue (is that what copydex is?) and glue the tissue paper on. Got 100 tealights coming. So these 12 jamjar lanterns can outline the path down the side of the house. Will then just get 10 garden torches for the back garden. (Saves money). Am really looking forward to this project. Part of me is saying I will sell them on ebay afterwards... but I was thinking - I have 12 of them coming... MrD's first name and my first name plus an ampersand comes to 12 characters. I could do a frosted glass look with each letter cut out. :) If they come on Wednesday I will have a play around with them on Saturday :) Cannot wait!!
