Hi guys! Was watching Don't tell the bride tonight, and the bride was so happy and excited on the day it actually made me cry! July next year feels so far away at the moment! Can't wait for the day where I feel as happy as she looked!! Exciting!!
Got an e-mail from the lady doing the favours, I e-mailed her the picture I'd seen thinking she'd do something more simple without the flowers, and she e-mailed back saying she had a template for the flowers, had been doing them on cakes and is going to have a play around this weekend! I'm so excited!
Pinkprincess - so exciting to have your dress alterations pencilled in, and really fab it's on your parents wedding anniversary!!
Laura - baby soon!!! Exciting!!
Not sure if anyone can tell, but in an excited mood tonight ;-) xx:j:j Getting married 28th July 2012 :j:j0 -
Roll on next July- I wonder how we will be feeling this time next year- will it be mega excited, nervous, panicking (ie loads to do)!!
Oh thats fab news about the favours- they are going to look (and taste) so good!!
I know, I couldnt believe it when she put that date- and the funny thing is my friend who recently got married had her dress fitting on the 9th April this year (I only remember this because of the date!)
Well I started on Paint and it actually looked ok so will try properly another day!! I recently did a big project at work were we used paint a lot so im kind of used to faffing about on it to get the pics just right!!!
Both New Yoirk and Kefelonia will be lovely- and I dont reckon they will feel second best, especially if you know that some time in the future you will do the liveaboard diving- if anything they will be a bonus holiday.0 -

Natalie - 13 months :-) that's going to fly!!
I'm not feeling like a very nice person this afternoon :-( I had a phone call from my brother this afternoon, he wanted to let me know that he's going to propose to his gf tonight. I'm really chuffed for them, obviously, but feeling a bit like I've got to share my excitement and everything now. Only been engaged about 3 weeks, and it's still really exciting and a huge topic of conversation with people, and I now have to share that. I know that's a horrible thought but kinda feel everything's going to be compared now. He told me that they want to get married next year as well. So there isn't even a big gap between weddings either. I feel like a b*tch at the minute, but can't shake the unhappy feeling :-(:j:j Getting married 28th July 2012 :j:j0 -
Oh, and I didn't get the teaching job I applied for. Not too disappointed, though, it's helped me make my mind up about things. I'm not going to apply for another teaching post. I've never been 100% happy teaching, but was scared of leaving. I'd decided that whatever happened today was going to determine what I did next. Strange day!!!:j:j Getting married 28th July 2012 :j:j0

Oh Rach!! If you ever read the Bridezilla thread you will see you aren't alone in feeling like they will steal some of your thunder. I have no words of wisdom cause I know I would feel exactly the same way - in fact I do about pretty much any and every wedding that has happened since we announced our engagement - lol including the Royal Wedding - lol cause clearly that won't be anywhere near as good as ours lol. I'm sure though both weddings (yours and your brothers) will be super special in their own rights and because of your different personalities, and different groom/brides to be will be very individual to you and him so people won't compare.
Sorry to hear you didn't get the job... in a way anyway. Also glad to hear that you've made a decision about leaving teaching. My one piece of advice would be to keep any money you may have paid in, in the TPS (lol sore subject at the moment). When I 'left' teaching after 2 years I removed my payments. But then two years later when I returned I couldn't rejoin forcing me to find a private pension. At the end of the day you have got to do what suits you and will make you happybut at the same time at least you have your teaching certificate to fall back on - even if you have to do a days supply every now and then to make ends meet.
We loved NYC too LauraR. In fact I felt more at home there in 4 days, than I did living in Hull for two years!!0 -
I'm sorry about the job, Rach. I went for 4 before I finished my other job at Easter and decided none were in a school I wanted to be in. So after waiting for ages I've signed up with supply agencies to see if I can find my love for the classroom again, mainly because I have no other ideas of what I would do!
There's no easy solution for thunder stealing, you're certainly not a horrible person, it's you're once in a life time, amazing day. But your brother's fiancee is probably thinking that you will steal her thunder too!
My only suggestion would be to try to make the weddings as different as possible if you can. Do you get on well with your brother's fiancee? Can you discuss what each of you are hoping for to ensure there are major differences between each wedding?0 -
Hahahaaa Wedding Dream Number 3: I dreamt that everyone arrived for the reception and basically nothing was ready. I wasn't in my dress. We hadn't been shopping and had no alcohol in. And I was most gutted that I hadn't put all my paper hearts up and all that time had been wasted! Lol. I'm really hoping by having so many so early when our wedding comes round I'll be so calm I won't have any!
6 weeks to go till I go wedding dress shopping :T
I lost 0.5lbs this week(Suspect I'm either overeating or overexercising but I'm very happy with 0.5lb so I'm not planing on changing anything this week). I have 10.5lbs to lose to get back to target. (In another 0.5lbs off time I will be measuring all my body parts again to see how much I've shrunk
I did check my fat percentage today though, and I've lost 3% in the last 6 weeks :T

Thanks to the candy buffet thread I have decided to buy 12 glass jars to put tealights in and have these outlining the path to our back garden instead of paper lanturns. With the kids we're having I figured these would be safer. (If they get kicked over they won't go up in a ball of flames lol.) Someone has posted a link to Asda 1L jars for £1 each. Gonna get red tealights to put inside. Get a pack of 100 - then even if they only last 1hr each that'd be just over 8 hrs worth of path lightening.
Have added them to my shopping trolley ready for the next time I do an Asda delivery
