Don't be daft Tracey - lol if there is something really urgent that we want lots of views on then I'm sure we know each other well enough by know to say "oi you haven't seen my post".
(Certainly I feel I'd be able to stamp my feel and be mini-bridezilla around you guys)
Oh it's always hard - when I (should say we, but really I've done it all) first started planning our wedding I always thought it's our wedding we'll do it how we want to... but the more I plan, and the more I read on here the more I realise that we do have to compromise about some things. Like the guest list - whilst they are 'our' guests I do understand the parents wanting to show off their ofspring to all and sundry lol. The same with your flowers, I do kinda see your mum's point - a lot of people do have roses.... but at the same time they are the flower you want, and noone else will have exactly the same bouquet as you, arranged the way you will have them, and in your colours. It really is a complete nightmare trying to please enough of the people enough of the time... (I'm against trying to please everyone all of the time lol).... mmm I'm rambling aren't I?!
Really glad you're relaxing!! I'm sure I've asked (or you've told us) but what degree are you doing? When do you find out your results? Heh heh wonder if Michelle is inputting your results - lol we could sweet talk her into giving you 100%I have just finished the worst assignment I have ever written - totally made up of very large quotes lol.... I don't actually need a mark though to have passed the coursework side of this module... then in the summer I just have a 3k literature review to do - will rattle that off in a week - may put a bit more effort into it than just 4-5 hrs worth!

I have compromised on certain things, but am not willing to step down on something that I really want. I have said to my mum that people will not notice if my boquet is similar to my cousins, and if they do I don't really care as it is what I want.
I have just completed my second year of a history degree at Southampton University. I get my official results on the 1st July for the entire year. I am happy to find out my exam mark before that as that is the only piece of work I am waiting back. wish me luck0 -
natalie- Im sure you will still be on here helping us find bits and sharing with us bits youve found to do over the next 8 weeks!!
Youll have to let us know which race for life your doing, as I sometimes go down there when some of my friends are doing it- Ill cheer you on if its my local one!!
See i think with bouquets its quite an equal split on whether people have posy style ones or shower drop ones- I would go with whatever you want- Im having a posy as thats my personal prefence- plus Im only short so down want to be swamped with a large bouquet!!
I think its hard to do everything 100% your own way, you do find you have to make the odd compromise- but as long as you stick to within your limits of what you want and feel comfortable with I think it will still be the perfect day youve imagined.0 -
I'm doing my local 'Run For Life' on 26th June, then Hull's Race For Life on 17th July (had planned to do that one with a friend - but I suspect she's going to pull out due to medical matters - so I will probably be doing that one on my tod), and then Portsmouth's one on 24th July.... madness!!
And Tracey - you don't need luck0 -
:jgot my wedding shoes today. Love them! I did look online so i could post a link but its not on the website - so if i ever figure out how to post pics i will show you all one day:rotfl:
Natalie Love your hair:)
Tracey re flowers. Go with what you would like not what your mum thinks, its your wedding at the end of the day. With flowers im not too fussed so i just let the florist choose!
rach that is a really good price for the DJ
Natalie if you do the race for life ill come visit you as well. Only 1hours drive away!:rotfl:0 -
Oh that would be fab Laura!! I'm definitely doing all three races - more fool me. Lol did a 5K last Friday - wasn't too bad - but Wednesday's jog bloody killed me - so we're off out again tonight when the heat has dissipated a bit. My goal is to get under 30mins. (Last year I did the Run For Life in 34 mins... it's a 'run' rather than 'race' cause it's an unofficial one organised by the local athletics club - with all proceeds going to cancer research uk).

How is this for organisation? I have just ordered a little something for our anniversary (17th July, one year to go), something or MrD's birthday (27th July), and cards for both of them and Christmas!!0

Grrr was just writing to tell you all that I've paid half the cost of our diving in October - and my post got lost (I pressed some random buttons)....
Anyway - that is the flights and accommodation booked, the e-learning course bought and completed by me. Now all that is left is MrD to complete his e-learning course, book carparking, organise insurance, find some spending money (we have 110 euros on a prepaid mastercard from our last trip), pay the rest of the course off, and get some equipment - minimum a wetsuit:T very happy and excited!
